Impact 600 or 700 barrel for 300 yd shots with slugs

Getting ready to order a 22 cal impact. Slug liner and power kit along with a donnyfl ronnin.

Shorter the better but also want to get to 300 yds. Like to shoot the Javalin 40 gr. Anybody doing with 600mm ? Or do I need to get the 700.? Maybe the 33-34 gain slugs?

Also do the 40 grain work in factory mags? Getting mixed answers on this..

Thanks y’all

HW/Weihrauch  Range time

I was able to sneak away a go to my buddies place up north. Last time I was there we cut down about a dozen trees to open his range. What a difference.
That bug thing under the tripod was flawless, not one bug.
IMG_9047.jpeg
He now has targets back to 72 yds. He only shoots iron sights but rim fire. I bought the Vickers falling block just to shoot with him. Honestly I like my springers. This is my view for my bench.
IMG_9046.jpeg
The two yellow square plates top Center is 72 yds. away. With the Vickers I brought two keepers a HW97 .20 and a HW90 .20. Did I ever say these two were special? I took advantage of the long distance because my range only goes to 47 yds. I’m not the best shot. Here’s two 15 shot groups 72 yds with the 90.
IMG_9051.jpeg
IMG_9050.jpeg
Always a great time. 3 hours of driving for 4 hours of shooting.
Still wasn’t enough. Got home, washed up ate and went back on my range with the 97 .20 again.
IMG_9052.jpeg
Two more hours of shooting. Finished at 9 PM and still light out. Here’s a 5 shot group at 35 yds. The spinners is 3/4 in.

Not enough hours in the day. Crow

FX  New to me Dream Tac

Just received a Dream Tac from Scott.t on here, (great guy!) and I'm pretty impressed. Couple of comments.
1) Whoever said the Notos butt stock tube, (buffer tube) was a different thread than a standard AR must have been wrong. The DT takes standard buffer tubes, and I swapped my Notos tube no problem. FYI
2) This thing SHOOTS! We're getting the left over wind from the edge of the hurricane here today. I shot 28 shots in HEAVY wind at 32 yds, had to stop to reset my blown over target twice, and paid absolutely no attention to trying to shoot when the wind calmed, and still got a 1" group! Wooohooo! Weather report says 15-35mph gusts, but I live on a hilltop and it's blowing way more than that here, so i'm duly impressed. It is the compact Dream Tac and it shoots 18gr FX (JSB) at 910 fps. It's using a lot of air, but for a short barrel and high velocity, with great accuracy, how can you complain. I'll tune it down a bit when this dang storm blows by. The DonnyFL makes it really quiet, easily backyard friendly although I have no one close to me. I took the moderator off and it's not all that loud outside with just the shroud.
I'm glad I dot back into FX again, as I had sold my two Royales a week or so ago, and needed another .22.

Power up

So.
As i am seemingly able to shoot heavier slugs now in my .177 - 4.5 mm Maverick ( 20 gr at 950 FPS / 130 BAR ) and having just ordered some 24 grain, i figured i better see where i am on more power / speed.
And that was kinda nowhere, adding 20 BAR more for 150 on the regulator, and well i had to find my heavy brass hammer from the tune kit ( i was already using the lighter one of the two )
And that worked just fine and i can now push 20 grainers over 1000 FPS if that is desirable, and i assume the 24 grain ones will be mid 900 FPS

Downside, well maybe not for a fat lazy old SOB, the cocking handle, well now it is a exercise to shoot it would seem, my Two shooting 16 grain, well i would not insult it by even comparing the cocking force on the two rifles CUZ it is that far apart.

Problem : I haver already broken 1 cocking leaver on the Maverick, shooting much more relaxed weight / pressure / hammer weight.

Now wondering how big are the upper arm on .30 CAL shooters, those must take some cocking force, or have hammers much more heavy ( tungsten )

"Pyrramyd air" - scam site?

So, I was searching for some H&N ammo, and came across the "Pyrramyd Air" site. Yes, I spelled that correctly - that is in the URL (web address). The logo on the page is "Pyramyd" - spelled correctly. However, the one or 2 things I compared between the two sites had different prices, with the "Pyrramyd" site being cheaper. Also, I don't see the misspelled site coming up doing a search for "Pyrramyd Air scam."

The real site is verified by "Let's Encrypt", while the misspelled site is verified by "Google Trust Services."

What's up with that @pyramydair?

Air Venturi  Scuba tank fullness?

So I havnt been keeping track of the number of refills I did on my WH 100, and I haven’t had the tank refilled since new.
A rookie question but how do I test to know how full it is?
Its a new “Air Venturi” tank with a gauge but I’m clueless about what readings indicate.
Not wanting to run empty but also don’t want to drop off a half full tank.
Also, it’s a full size tank, any idea how many refills an HW100 could take?

Traditional Rifle  WTS HW95L .177, tuned, $500

This hw95l .177 is for sale. It was tuned by motorhead with a simple "put it back together" tune.
It shoots about 13-14fpe with H&N 8.4gr FTTs.
Couple marks on the rail from having a scope, but the stock is in near perfect condition.
$500 firm, plus shipping to wherever you are. Comes with original box and paperwork, and the muzzle grip. Also comes with .22 barrel, extra spring from a vortek kit.

Skout  Skout questions ?

Just some thoughts rambling around my head late at night as I sit waiting for trailers to be loaded. Lol. Anyway the main question is should there be any concern from Skout owners as to whether they will be around for the foreseeable future? I was thinking has a new airgun company ever before jumped head first into the elite echelon section of the hobby ? Seems a big leap into a small pool. How big of a piece of the overall airgun pie are 2k plus guns ? Are they standing up overseas, where the market is much bigger, to already established competitors? These guys were also smart parts inc awhile back that manufactured high end paintball markers. That company liquidated and sold in 2010. However the shocker pb marker is still made by shocker paintball ( SP)
certainly homage to smart parts. Is this company owned by the same people (Skout )or by whoever bought out smart parts? Why do the sell out if it was really successful? Just sitting here thinking of wether a bunch of spare parts should be purchased now just in case. Sorry for being a Debbie downer and I’m not saying they don’t have a spectacular product as they do. However I’m guessing in a very small niche of a market that doesn’t seem that huge in the U.S. a good product is no guarantee of success and longevity.

Daystate  Wolverine R | .22cal ➠ How Much Power Can I Expect?

Wolverine R in .22cal:

How Much Power Can I Expect?

🤷🏻‍♂️ This is new territory for me....:
▪ I'm not finding much info on the interwebs about the Wolverine R....
▪ And Daystate is mousefart quiet about how to change the power setting.

So, please, help me out: 😊

1️⃣
How much power can I expect from the (regulated)
Wolverine R in .22cal?

⟁ Note that this is NOT the HP (HighPower) model with the long 600mm (24") barrel!
Mine is the regular powered bottle gun with the 430mm (17") barrel.

The OEM Huma regulator supposedly can be set from 100 to 170bar.

2️⃣
How can I make adjustments to the slingshot hammer of the gun?
(I don't even know how to access the hammer, let alone how to adjust it.)

3️⃣
Is tuning a system with a slingshot hammer the same as with a regular hammer?
E.g.: (a) set the regulator, (b) adjust the hammer for a hard hit to get full power, (c) reduce hammer hit force progressively with a chrony, till the velocity drops off by about 5% for a compomise of high power and high shot count.

Thanks a lot for any help you can give me. 👍🏼

Matthias

Air Arms  Breech O-rings

I have an AirArms S510 .25cal I've owned for 8 years that I am having a difficult time keeping breech seals in.
Sometimes they will last for hundreds of shots and next thing I know I am replacing it every 5 or 6 shots.
I have been getting them from several different suppliers and that seems to make no difference in longevity.
I suspect user error but it is driving me crazy.
I'm tired of having gophers run over my feet while I'm dicking around with the gun.
I have tried several different pellets with no difference.
I'm also tired of paying 25 bucks shipping for 2 or 3 o-rings.
Any suggestions?

Ray Hill/Wicks Style Wind Flags

First of all, Ray Hill is alive and well and, thankfully, still making Wicks Style Wind Flags. And boy are they beautiful! I ordered and received three of them and couldn't be happier. They are beautifully made and highly sensitive and accurate. Best of all Ray is a great guy! He and his son are accomplished shooters - actually award winning. Ray can be reached at [email protected] . If you order his flags don't expect a rush job, but you CAN expect to receive what I believe to be the best wind flags available. By the way, he also has some very good advice on benchrest shooting using wind flags. Here's my previous post where it was suggested I contact Ray -
https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/looking-for-good-wind-flags.1314317/ and below are a few photos he sent to me.

Huben  Huben GK1 v3 .25 Question

Hello all,

I just bought a Huben GK1 v3 .25 from a fellow AGN member. I am hoping to receive it before the weekend. I have a few questions hoping you guys can answer.

The seller uses AVS .254 flat dish slugs. What other slugs do you use that will work well with the Huben GK1? For pellets, what do you recommend? I've only shot pellets, specifically JSB Hades for my other air guns (Notos, PROD, AEA SF).

What stock options do I have?

Lastly, any highly recommended modifications I should do? Any attachments? Loading gate? Donny FL 1/2x20 adapter?
