Sheridan  Am I now an honorary American?

Hello all! We had to go to Bordeaux today for a hospital appointment, something that usually fills me with dread! But this time, I had a repaired gun to return to a gun shop down that way.

An excuse to check out the stockroom full of unwanted wrecks!

First I found a Diana 56 that needs repair, I said I’d do that as they are easy to work on. Then I spotted a pumper!

I thought it was a Benjamin a392 as I didn’t have my reading glasses, and it looked like brand new so it can’t be an old one.
Then I got it home………

Please can you take a look at this video and give me a rough idea of age? We never saw many over here, but this does appear to be an 80’s gun in brand new condition Any help most welcome

Pump Up The Jam! With the Sheridan Blue Streak. Is this an 80's sleeper? please help

Is there anything in between the Zelos and the Impact m4?

I have an Airacuda Max in .22 and an Umarex Gauntlet SL .30. I would like a .25 cal bullpup style rifle. I told myself I would save up for an M3 or M4 but I am just not sure I want to spend that much. The Zelos/Snowpeak looks great but I really wish it had a little higher shot count between fills. Is there something great in between the cost of these two rifles?

HW/Weihrauch  Dry HW95 problem Resolved.

Hi gang.
I spoke with Shane at AoA, and he said that nothing I said, scared him. He said to pull the stock and have a look for any damage. He asked what I had to work with for lubes, and he told me to lube it if it's dry.

That gave me the green light to contact Mycapt65, (Ron), for some guidance. He asked for pics.
Pic 1 spring at the trigger end!

20241118_194657.jpg

That looked good. 👍

20241118_195036.jpg

Then he said to lightly lube the roof over the spring.
Using the tool, Ron suggested I checked the roof and the entire spring cavity wall. It was dry. So I gave it a thin lube with said tool.

20241118_204236.jpg

Ron also said to grease the slot edges, then I gave it a test, and the friction/resistance is gone.
Let's shoot. 👍
Thanks, Ron, and all who contributed.

Value of testing at shorter range

I'm trying a variety of pellets and tweaking tunes - is there any ground to be gained in the winter season on the indoor range is 20y long and I'm ultimately going to be shooting at 25 and 50 outdoors?

I'm thinking I can at least eliminate some definite 'no' combinations and later I can test the better performers at full distance.

Only 3 weeks,hooked

Wife put up a bird feeder October 28, the squirrels were swarming it. Told her I was going to Deter them a little. Had to do some quick shopping on line and saw that Tractor Supply had a Umerex pellet gun in the closest store. They actually had several models, one being a gas cartridge nitrogen maybe. Researched a bit and glad I went with the underlever Synergis 22.

Got to say I was impressed. I haven’t shot an air gun in 55 years and that was a Crossman 760. Came with a cheap scope but it was functional.
I can’t really shoot outside but it’s all woods behind the house. So that evening online I was to read about air guns. The big thing was a pcp gun.
The downside was the filling. I ended up buying a Reximex RPA and a cheap hand pump . I swear I bruised a couple ribs pumping that little cylinder. Ok got one of them $200 compressors on Amazon.

Might as well get a rifle now…

The Airgun from Trigger to Target

A classic on airguns by G V and G M Cardew! I have a copy and just wondered about a copy to give as a Christmas gift. Looked at ABE Books and couldn't find one. Neither the first or second one was anywhere in their system. That is a lot of used book stores with nothing on a subject. There wasn't a reference to other books on airguns in their system. Are they that rare? No Encyclopedia of #Spring Air Pistols as well. A dearth of books on the subject! I will find a book on some history of warfare as a second choice.
Are there other airgun books to search for? Used or New? T I A. Be Well Brothers, 'dito.

Which is better?

A compressor or a scuba tank?

I can get a new 80 cuft scuba tank for around $300, a used one that's certified for around $200. A fill will cost less than $20 at a scuba shop, and I'd get the cleanest air possible.

80 cuft = 2,265,348 cc.

My gun has a 580 cc tank so I could get about 3,900 fills for about $320 total investment from an 80 cuft bottle. A smaller bottle would be lighter and more portable and still give plenty of fills.

Am I missing something here? It seems like this is an obvious choice to fill PCP gun tanks.

PCP Rifle  NLA For Sale: JTS Airacuda MAX .25 caliber

For Sale: JTS Airacuda MAX .25 caliber. I purchased this air rifle from Pyramyd on June 29, 2024. The gun has ~1200 rounds through it. I have made a few changes. 1) Regulator is set at 2000 PSI. 2) Modified stock for direct access to hammer spring. 3) Modified stock for direct access to degassing screw. 4) drill vent hole in shroud. This made it noticeably quieter. The stock also has about 5 coats of boiled linseed oil. See pictures for all of this. Also included is the stock extender. This makes the Length of pull 15.5 inches.

This gun is tuned for 29g and prefers AEA for both 29g and 25g. JTS is a close second. I included a couple of 25 meter shot cards (25g and 29g) and a 51 shot string from my chrony for reference.

Gun comes in original box, owner’s manual and extra magazine (3 total). ***bipod not included**

Daystate  Revere .177 unregulated at AoA on sale for $900

I have a regulated .22 Revere, but I was searching the Daystate website and could not find some technical information.

For those members that have the .177 unregulated 18 FPE rifle, what pellet brands and associated velocities are providing best results at 25-40 yards?

Also, for those that have both the .177 and .22 caliber rifles, which do you think are more accurate at the above distances.

I regularly shoot in the 30Y Challenge thread, and although my .22 is very accurate, I was curious about user experiences with the .177.

Thanks in advance.

My humbling- simple as that!

Now, I’m active on the forums, my knowledge is still limited, but my enthusiasm is high, always wish to help lesser informed individuals as per our guidelines. What catches me off guard is how limited MY knowledge is! I keep getting these responses to old posts of mine and I’m like WTF??? What was I thinking? Back then. Now I’m decent at asking relevant questions, but can see I’m smoked with the qualified responses. Hey, as long as information is shared! , so be it!

PCP Rifle  SOLD Epic Two .25 Caliber with Extras

I’ve elected to let this Epic Two 550mm .25 caliber rifle go, it was purchased from edgun west and has had one tin of pellets fired through it. It’s a very impressive rifle, the only reason it is for sale is I want to fund a pesting rifle purchase. You will receive the rifle (no scope or bipod) with the installed sekhmet gauges as well as the adjustable bag rider along with all of the factory bits and the factory hard case. I will entertain trades for a Leishy 2 in .25 or .30 caliber. I’m asking $2000 for the rifle with extras and we can discuss shipping. I can have it boxed up and shipped the day after payment is made. Thank you

Huben  Huben GK1 Field Carry for Close Quarters Draw and Shoot Styled Hunting - Opinions Wanted

Over the weekend I was in two scenarios where I had a rifle on me and walked/stalked to within pistol range on some hogs. I spotted a pig running while crow hunting. I went to investigate the area looking for it and ended up crawling through a hog trail in a briar thicket. Eventually I found myself about 20 yards from a pretty big hog. By the time I got it's face in my reticle and decided what needed to be done it was at 15 yards and I was on my knee surrounded by briars. I shot it in the face from 15 yards with a 34 grain domed pellet from .25 R5M wounding it and causing it to run in the opposite direction. I was in a very vulnerable position that I was not prepared for, so my safety was on my mind. The next day I believe that I ran into the hogs again. I didn't shoot at because it was at dusk and I had not positively IDed the animals,. I was in some pine saplings, tall grass, and other undergrowth at the top of an embankment on the edge of the woods as the sunset. If a hog emerged from the brush in front of me it would have been about 5 yards. That is not enough time to positively ID and locate the animal through my scope (with limited FOV at a minimum 5x mag) in low light. Look at how the hog closed the distance in the last scenario and it didn't know I was there.

These scenarios can attest to exactly why I bought the GK1. However, I have yet to mount my red dot and I don't have a holster. I really need a holster that I can wear across my chest. I started to put it in my chest pack, but I don't trust the safety on the gun and I feel it is a risk shooting my self in a chest pack that it would move around in and possibly fall out of. In these scenarios I would've used the GK1. In the first scenario I would have tried to get at leat three shots in that hogs head if not half a magazine to try to kill it insteaed of run it off (I did shoot one braodsinde later that day). I opted not to shoot the hog between the eyes, because I didn't want to risk a ricchet off the forehead, pissing off the hog, and getting runover or mauled. The ability to get off multiple shots would have been a game changer let alone the report of an unmoderated GK1.

So again I'd like a holster that can accomodate a GK1 with the red dot reflext sight mounted forward on the dovetail rail, but can also cover the trigger with a strap that also covers the safty. I'd like the versatility of wearing the holter on my chest or hip. Do you all think this is fesible? If so where can I get such a holster? Is there anything I'm not thinking of that you all have any ideas about?
