PCP Rifle  SOLD Taipan Veteran .22

Taipan Veteran .22. Bought my gun new in May 2020 from Georgia Airguns. It is stock. I estimate less than 300 shots thru it. After a year of no use, I removed it from the gun safe and noticed it had developed a slow leak. I sent it back to Charlie at Georgia Airguns and he re-sealed it. I haven't shot it since i got it back.

I moved to a neighborhood where It's difficult to shoot without the neighbors noticing. Because of that, I decided to let it go.

It comes with everything as original. Taipan Box, Owner's Manual, 2 Magazines, Single shot tray, xtra O-rings, Metal adjusting pins, and the Fill Probe Adapter.

$750

Shipping is $35 in the U.S. Feel free to PM me with questions. Ill provide my phone number if you want to talk on the phone. I'll accept Zelle, Venmo, personal check, and Paypal friends and family. Thanks, Jeff

FX  Fx drs classic walnut version!!!

Hello guys
Did a shot count on my newly acquired drs .177 500mm barrel version,
Since this gun doesn’t have regulator gauge so I used pro chrono to get true data to share with u guys,
Filled up to 230bar using my ex-3000 evo with pro dry pac, yeah I live in a humid enviroment,50+moisture ina the air all the time, takes about under
3 minutes from 130 to 230,
Using recommended jsb exact heavy Diablo 10.34
I got 6 accurate and consistent mags
(16 shots each) and the last 7th mag started shooting off target and the rifle started to bark a lot louder,(without potato)
And this rifle is not back yard friendly like at all,
Contrary to what Utah guys says it is!!!
So ended the session there,
So all in all 6 consistant and accurate mags means 96 shots
And the length and weigh of the rifle is very nice,
36.5 inch long and 5.5lbs without scope,
I m pleased with my purchase.
Utah Airguns are nice retailers.
And some pics for some visually depraved airgunners!!!

HW/Weihrauch  Installed an ARH Hornet kit in my HW85, and now it won't cock...?

I recently purchased a couple of used (very used) HW85's. One of them was functional and the other had a broken cocking shoe and a blown out stock at the end of the cocking slot in the forend due to the cocking lever being forced through it when the shoe let go.
Anyway, I stripped the rifle and repaired the stock while waiting for the new shoe to arrive and found nothing unusual other than a damaged piston sleeve that I was able to rotate within the piston in order to expose an undamaged portion of the sleeve.
from there, I installed an ARH Hornet kit which I ordered 2 of specifically for both rifles.
I'm no stranger to working on springers Weihruachs especially, so I don't believe that I'm overlooking anything obvious. There are no spacers in the piston or on the spring guide. The cocking shoe fits and functions perfectly within the piston slot. The trigger will set and release when removed from the rifle. I did cock the trigger before reassembly and touched it off after it was installed. I was also careful to hold the safety in place while inserting the trigger group.
I'm beginning to suspect that the kits supplied are the wrong ones. There are both a delrin spring guide as well as a tophat on the new Hornet kits. There was about 2" of preload before the end cap threads would engage. I tried to see if the spring is coil bound when the barrel is in the fully cocked position but the piston sleeve obstructs my view.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Crosman  Who recall returned their crosman icon? (Or - crosman really takes care of their customers.)

I picked up the icon during the year end sale when they had that screaming deal. Well, as we know it was recalled due to the possibility of firing with a good bump when the gun was uncocked. I was on the fence about returning it, but went ahead and did so anyways as I've got enough pcps to go around and don't need something that's a potential hazard.

I get a call from crosman today, telling me they received my gun, and would be issuing a refund check for $200. Considering they had no reason to give me anything extra I was pleasantly surprised. Way to go crosman! This sort of customer service deserves kudos.

So who else here returned their icon and did you get the same great treatment?

JTS Airacuda Standard goes “Suppressed”!

So I got an adapter and a Suppressor from Buck Rail. At first I was disappointed. I was getting erratic Pellets all over the target. I was using power 3 to keep things Quiet. I took it off, and the groups came back again. So I then started thinking about it and told myself to try Higher power. So on Power #4 I achieved Minute of Squirrel Accuracy! 30 yards with the JTS 18.1’s. I had run out of the CHP’s, so I will try some groups when I get more. The Buck Rail crew was very helpful. Shipping and communication was excellent! Thanks “Chris”!

Air Venturi  POI Shifting

I have a avenger in .177 cal and the POI keeps shifting on me. After the rifle has sat for a couple of days the POI has shifted down about 1 inch at 30 yds. I can zero it and it will shoot just fine. If I let the rifle sit for a couple of hours the POI will move up about an inch. I have used 2 different scopes with different mounts with the same problem. What can I do to fix this problem???

Thanks
Mike

PCP Rifle  SOLD Custom Taipan Mutant "SuperMutant" Shorty .22 (CZ) - 200+ Shots Per Fill, Dead Quiet, Perfect Barn Gun / Truck Gun

This is a very special little compact Mutant. The barrel in this thing is EXCELLENT! It shoots everything from 16gn JSBs / Hades up to 34gn slugs lights out.

It has a custom valve and hammer system, the valve is also compatible with the Taipan Veteran. Cocking lever is also reversible.

Efficiency & versatility - I had it shooting JSB Monster RDs at 937FPS over the winter (very easy to tune) with an ES of 1, but I re-tuned it for JSB Hades with it's monster shot count. The shot count really shines with 16gn ammo (JSB Hades, Jumbos, H&N, etc), and I've been able to get over 200 shots per fill at 12FPE (>150 shots at 15FPE, and 64 shots at 25.5FPE). I was able to shoot the Monsters and 25gn H&N slugs around 50FPE around 190bar, but the custom hammer system can work the valve at higher pressure if that's your thing.

These Mutants use 12-shot mags vs. 10 in the Veterans. There's nothing quite like these Ukranian-made Mutants. You get the impression / feeling like they were hand-built by someone who cared!

Durability & reliability - It's also one of the most durable bullpups that I've ever seen. It would make for a perfect truck gun, barn gun, and / or for all around field use. You can't really mess up the barrel since it actually stops under the forward barrel support and the factory moderator threads and sleeves over it under the support.

I've taken over 100 squirrels with it and about twice that in starlings and sparrows. These Taipans are very reliable and I serviced the rifle recently (5/25/2024) using high quality o-rings with proper grease. It should stay sealed for many (many) years to come.

Modifications and included components:
  • Custom indestructible, industrial strength valve system (tested with reg wide open at 250bar with a sledgehammer hammer system)
  • Bored out / tapered the block porting
  • Custom grade 5 titanium lever handle with dual 1/4" set screws
  • Custom 3-piece \hammer spring tension (HST) adjustment knob - marine brass with brass and Delrin preload / spring guide bushings + heavy hammer weight and heavy custom spring (needed for >170bar tuning)
  • DonnyFL HST with custom spring and Delrin spring seat (for <170bar tunes)
  • Huma regulator (springs max at ~195bar)
  • Magpul MOE bipod / accessory rail, screws are threaded into the rifle and affixed with embedded T-nuts (very strong, screws and rail are removable)
  • (2) 12-shot factory magazines
  • (1) factory single shot tray / SST
  • Assortment of custom hammer springs
  • 1/2"-20 UNF thread for moderator attachment - not really needed, but it's there anyway!
  • (1) magazine holder
  • Upgraded Wika gauge
  • Original packaging
Optional:
  • Nylon padded carrying case with two side zipper pockets from EDgun (add $45)
  • (2) additional 12-shot factory magazines: $40/ea
  • I have an optional Taipan factory aluminum mag holder set that holds (8) mags, but I also made some custom threaded Delrin attachments that allows you to run a single (4) mag holder to minimize weight: $80
Terms:
  • $1250 + 1/2 shipping CONUS (no Chicago or NJ). Zelle preferred
  • No trades

Help me understand the reasoning with regards to high end springers

I see thread after thread. And video after video of people with rifles like AA and Weihrauch, etc.
where they spend a premium on these rifles that shoot 25+ FPE. Then turn around and spend time and money to cut the power in half or more. All in the name of stacking pellets?

Seriously these guns shoot great without choking them to death power wise.

For me. I’d rather shoot dime size groups at 25 yards @ full power than shoot a 1/4in group at 1/2 power.

But maybe it’s because I don’t compete in target shooting. I practice shooting, I hunt, I pest, I plink.
A 1500.00 12fpe serves no useful purpose in my mind.

This is not an attack on springers. It’s my personal problem with lack of understanding.
Where I see most other shooters tend to tune for more power, more efficiency, and more accuracy.

Don’t hate me. I just want to know🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

New Gun

Just some suggestions for new gun owners aside from the obvious safety rules. I always inspect the gun for nicks, scratches dings and dents, I don't want a dealer by chance sending me a gun someone sent back or a shipper damaging it. Next thing I do is check all fasteners/screws ETC to make sure nothing is loose. Then I clean the entire gun specially the barrel as they generally arrive filthy. From there, (PCPs) I check the gauges and top off the air wait an hour or so and mark or write down the pressure on a piece of blue tape, stick it on the stock and put it in the safe to be checked the next day. What else do ya'll do with your new guns before you shoot them?
