Black Death my night time Taipan got a new dress.

Put the the night time veteran in the supervets stock today after installing a pic rail my way. Unfortunately whoever installed the pic rail in the black stock did a half ass job so its just a wee bit cock-eyed, it looks worse than it is , once the bipod is mounted can barely see it. I shall call this one BLACK DEATH

Reason for this is due to what's coming tomorrow. Supervet gets a new dress.

NLA Brocock Bantam 22 Sniper HR Magnum

Traded! Thanks AGN for feeding the addiction...

Looking for something a bit more moddable. Preferably bottle gun. Maybe 25 cal. Impact Platform?

Great long range .22 plinker that's currently tuned for light slugs and H&N Baracuda Match diabolos.

Optisan EVX and bipod not included in trade. Can work a deal with pellets/slugs and hard case.

FOUND Kalibrgun Cricket Carbine .177

Looking for a Cricket Carbine (full length version, as seen below) in .177 to match the .22 that I have. Unfortunately, seems it is no longer carried in that caliber by anyone in the US.
Let me know if you have one you'd consider letting go, or any leads on where to get one.
Much appreciated!

When your body starts back-talking

Hey sisters and brothers in the air gun community - been quite a while since I've posted. A common topic that resurfaces every so often in our discussions here are the effects age and the passing of the years have on our interests and pursuits with air guns. Now it's my turn as my body has recently been back-talking to me in no uncertain terms. For a long time I could handle the tinnitus and high blood pressure and pre-diabetes and the rest but now the gauntlet has been thrown down: an auto-immune disease that is robbing me of my strength and stamina. 2022 has been a challenging year for me physically and I finally have to concede my loss of passion (not to mention capability) for shooting my springer, multi-pump, and even some of my CO2 guns. If it requires repetitive work to cock the mainspring or pump up the air chamber I am unable to complete more than a few shots in a session. It's just not worth the pain and fatigue that accompany the outing. I'm so thankful that I crossed over to the "dark side" some years back and have a small collection (3!) of PCPs I can still enjoy while shooting off a rest. With those three guns I can continue to scratch my air gun itch and mentor my grandkids in the shooting sports. I'm also glad to have listened to B.B. Pelletier and pursued the sub-12 ft lb approach to shooting air guns. Since I no longer have the mobility to walk around a barnyard much less go on an easy stalk in the woods, I am relegated to my suburban back yard... all 25 yards of it. Sub-12 ft lbs is perfect for the mini-sniping and super quiet shooting I pursue now. Sharing all this as a reminder to all that the years will bring on changes in our likes and dislikes as well as our cans and cannots. Best wishes to y'all as you pursue your passions.

Cat ate my ammo?

So my cat likes to bring its game inside through the doggy door and play with it. Mice, rats, voles, snakes, etc. Sometimes the game gets away. Today she took a very spunky mouse into my carpeted home office and played with it. Catch, release, repeat. It kept climbing up table legs and getting on my office equipment while I was trying to work, so I went and got my izh46m and some 8.44 g diablos. When I got back my cat ran out of the office and I found the mouse injured but alive and in obvious pain, so I put a couple of pellets into it. Then I went and got some paper towels and plastic bags, but when I got back my cat had swallowed it whole. Looking at the low pile beige carpet I see a couple of pellet size holes rimmed grey about the edges, so I think the pellets went through and lodged in the floor under the carpet. Otherwise, I’d be worried about my cat eating lead. Should I be worried? Thoughts?

Guns in your safe that you don't like

Ever had a gun that really didn't / doesn't mean much to you, but you were / are VERY accurate with it ?

Some time back, I bought a KalibrGun, Cricket II, in .22 cal. It's got the full wood WSA stock. Visually, it's fine. The stock is nicely done, well finished. It fits the hard parts well. There's nothing wrong with the way it all works, it doesn't leak air, the trigger is nice. The little "chamber" that I tried on the barrel, actually does a good job of quieting it that last little bit to make it "house" friendly.

I know from reading the "for sale" adds that many buy guns and it ends up that, they're "not a good fit" !
For whatever reason, this is one such gun. I don't know why, but it is. This is one of my guns that just sits. Yesterday, I aired it up and filled the magazine (one of the best designs), put up a fresh target and started shooting. My "dot" targets are about 5/8" in diameter. Yeah I shoot a short distance, freehand, but when I can put (5 at each dot) all five shots at about a nickel's diameter, the whole magazine worth...WHY don't I like this gun ?
It actually does shoulder well, it's got a good weight, so that it's easy to aim...but...it's FAR from a favorite, and I don't know why.

Qualify your score or group?

How many times have you seen a shooter qualify his score or group size before showing it here on AGN? Like this:

There I was this morning, shooting at almost 100 yards (97.3Y actual) and the winds were 15 to 20 mph, 47.8 degrees from the left, gusting to 30.2 mph, and occasionally switching directions.
So I apologize, this 10-shot 0.65" C2C group could have been better, but it was the best I could do at the time... I usually do much better (hole in hole all day), but with the minor wind conditions... well, you know. ;) I had to hold off anywhere from 10 to 20 inches, so judging the wind with the flags was crucial.
Anyway, below is the group, others weren't quite as good, but nothing over an inch.
:ROFLMAO:

PS., for those easily offended snowflakes, this post is intended to be humorous...

What is the most accurate airgun in todays market?

I see on this forum is mostly fx impacts. Is that the most accurate gun or something? Are there other guns more accurate? What i mean by accurate is a gun that can put hole in hole over and over again. Aka the smallest group size at certain distance. What's the most accurate airgun you know?

When is the wind blowing too hard to target practice

Hello everyone,

It has been over a week since I was able to do any target shooting and I just had to shoot a little today. Wind was blowing 12mph with guts to 25mph and variable direction. At one point the wind got under one of the paper targets and blew it off the cardboard backing  , even though I had tape on all four corners. Even with these conditions I was able to shoot one of my new targets with a perfect score of 90. Using the FX Crown MK II .177 cal and some JSB MRD 13.43 that I had re-sized using a .451 Pellet Sizer. One thing that I found out real quick with the Sizer was, not all pellets are created equal 😉. Some pellets pushed through with little effort, but some required a whole lot more effort than I had expected. The shooting conditions too bad to pass a final judgment on using the Pellet Sizer, but it appears to be worth the time and effort. My scope was set to shoot the JSB MRD 13.43 right out of the Tin and I noticed that the Re-sized pellets shot very close to dead center but just a tad higher. I re-sized a whole Tin so I have plenty to test when conditions are a lot better.

Have you ever

Have you ever been target practicing and you change guns or change ammo or change position or change shooting support or whatever and that first shot is dead nuts bullseye, then every shot after is not, this happens so often that the Great AirGunner of the Sky has to be responsible, is he getting a chuckle or encouragement, what do you think.
