SOLD Tuned Baikal IZH 61 - open to offers

I’ve got this IZH 61 from Baikal. Discontinued now (Obama didn’t like imports from Russia especially when it comes from the same factory as the AK-47) and a needle in a haystack sort of find. I’m curious as to what people here would offer for it or if they’ll purchase it at the listed price. It’s got 2 clips each 5 shots. I measured out a seal for it and it’s producing factory level power. I plan on tuning it a second time for more power before selling…send offers. I’m trying to get it alike to an HW30 power output. U.S. only.

We’ll start with $200 shipped but looking for offers

SOLD Walther Reign .22

Looking to sell a barely used Walther Reign in .22 caliber. This rifle maybe has a half tin of pellets, probably less. I never spent a lot of time pellet testing so I’m not sure what it prefers. I picked this up for my boys to shoot but they lost interest. Overall condition is really good minus one small mark on the picatinny rail as shown and a really small mark on bottom of the handgrip area. The rifle will come with the original mag (only comes with one), newer probe with foster fitting, tools as it came, also I do have the original box with paperwork it’ll ship with, the Range Vise is not included. Sale within the USA only, PayPal preferred, and shipping via UPS Ground.

Broke my Maverick, again!

So I managed to break something, again. Half an hour after fixing my original problem (see my previous thread).

I decided to finally swap calibres/barrels, from my original .22 700 mm (28″), to .30 500 mm (20″). Replaced my hammer weight from my Huma-Air 13.2 gram to the 14.5 gram option from the same manufacturer. Also installed the higest-flow pellet probe, the Huma-Air pin probe.

So far, all good. Left the power I had last for the .22 - about 291 m/s (954 fps) at setting 7 with JSB Knockout .217, but dialed the power down to setting 5.

Loaded first slug (ZAN's, do not know the exact weight, but they are about the longest taht would work with a standard FX magazine). It took a lot more force than the .22, but I reassured myself that it was due to the much larger slug surface and resulting friction, as well as the minimal area the pin probe acts upon.

Fired (258 m/s, 846 fps), and again - same resistance when feeding the slug, slightly lower velocity.

So I switch to setting 7, cycle the action, and right at the end, when the slug is already out of the magazine but probably not quite clear of the transfer port, just before the cocking lever locks in the forward position, a loud POP right out from the action.

Otherwise, no indications of what went wrong - rear reg pressure held at preset value, when I took off the barrel expecting to see shredden remains of some seal or other, nothing. Everything seems fine, but I am too chicken to try again, because something is obviously not fine! Don't need the gun to go bye-bye, and even less do I need shrapnel from a critical failure to get cozy with my skull!

B.t.w. - does not neccessarily have to be related to the same problem, but upon removing the original probe, I was quite surprised to see the worn down surfaces, front & back of the transfer port; look at the attached picture - does not look normal, does it??

FX "What the #@%&!!!"

Come on already with the pre orders. In Aug 2021 placed a preorder for the new .177cal slug liner. Here I sit in Aug 2022 and still no liner. I understand getting some hype around a product and getting the word out shortly before its release but this is a little ridicules! I have many different brands of guns a like them all but this seems to be a common thing with FX lately. I would rather not know what coming a year + from now or be honest and say "coming soon" but don't put a product out for preorder when its no where near ready for sale! I still love my FX rifles but this practice is extremely frustrating for the consumers! OK I'll stop bitching now!!! Just going to go to bed and dream about all the fun me and my liner would have... :)

Best Mid level .25 cal

Ok guys so I looking to buy my first pcp. Not new to guns by any means but haven’t owned much more than a Crossman pellet gun from walmart, so pcp guns are kinda foreign ground for me. But looking for something for target and some backyard pest control. Kinda settled on a .25 cal it’s fairly windy where I’m at and have a few groundhogs and mink that need to go. After watching some utube I came across Aea Varmint, seems to be what looking for. What other guns would be comparable or preferred to the Varmint, in a mid level price range.

Buying a new airgun suggestions wanted.

Soo im in the mood for a new airgun as of late and wondering what would be the most recommended in the price range of say 1400$ to 2100$ ?
Ive had edgun, cricket, airforce, hatsan, webly and war but no fx or daystate yet.
Im a lefty and tempted by a impact or maverick but just a bit leery of just how lefty friendly they may or may not be. The cricket 2 tatical and argos as well as vulcan3 and uragan look sweet and tempting purchases.
Im a paper puncher mainly with just a tick of pesting when pigeons decide to decorate my vehicles.
I mostly shoot from a bench but not all the time and like shooting 30 to 100 ish yards.
I would like to be able to do slugs if the urge calls but will be mainly.22 jsb 18.1 pellets.
Soo guys gals what would be the most bang for my money?
Ive been weighing m3 impact vs cricket 2 tatical in the 1900 to 2100 range or maverick vs uragan 2 vs vulcan 3 in the 1800 $ range.
Gimmie some suggestions to sway me one way or another before my mind explodes.
Thanks 👍

First PCP, under $700

Hello,

Im looking for something pretty specific PCP. Sorry if these requirements are way too specific for my budget. I’ve been looking for a PCP carbine to shoot in my city backyard 90% of the time, and 10% out in the mountain. I don’t know if this is possible. If not ALL the requirements are met, i do not want to purchase it, and will stick with just multi-pumps.

The order of importance:
-MUST be EASILY powered down to 500fps on .177 (7.4gr) lead pellets, and EASILY powered up to 800fps with the same pellet. If it can be powered down/up but needs disassembly or extra tools, i do not want that gun. If it can be only powered down to 600fps, i do not want it either.

-must be .177. I am shooting through a chicken wire mesh to shoot rats sometimes. Only pellet that doesnt mess up the wire was 177 pointed pellets.

-must be repeatable or semiauto CARBINE or PISTOL that is light weight. Needs to fit in a 22 gallon backpack. I was thinking Airforce Talon P at first.. but doesnt fit in the backpack, and does not have a magazine for repeating shots.

-Accurate to dime size in 30 -40 yards. (With high fps)

-Under $700 excluding air compressor, scopes, bipod, supressor or any other extras.

-more shots the better.

Again, i think im looking for too much within my budget, but i really have no use if not ALL requirements are met. Thank you in advance!

I'm loving my new FX Impact M3.

So I purchased this rifle a month ago slightly used (51 slugs through it) for the sole purpose of dealing with a recent coyote problem on my block. When I first received it I put 10 shots threw and it started double feeding and so I sent it to FX to deal with. Got the rifle back last Thursday, through a bipod on it and started to dial it in. It's a 30 cal and for food I decided on JSB Hades and FX Hybrid slugs because both are the same weight and I figured shooting between the two would be simple to adjust for.
I shoot in my backyard and from where I sit to my 1/8" steel pellet trap it's 30 yards. The group in the pic was shot with the Hades and is 46 shots, two mags. What I look for in any gun, whether it's a firearm or an air rifle is boring accuracy. Well, that's exactly what I found in this one, boring accuracy! I could shoot another 100 pellets through that same hole if I wanted too......but as hard as 30 cal Hades are to find I'll save the rest for the coyotes.

The only things I added to this rifle was the upgraded Power Block, Huggett Magna silencer, and a GG&G Bipod. The tech at FX was nice enough to tune it close enough to where he thought I needed it to be and he was damn near dead on. Thanks FX, you guys are awesome!

Daystate Revere "We the Plinkers" edition form AOA 1st impressions.

I was happy to be able to spend some time with my new Huntsman Revere in .25 this afternoon.

As you may know, this is a superb bit of kit!

Here's what I have to compare it to;

- Benjamin Marauder .177
- S.A.M. .22
- Kratos .22
- Akela .22
- Kral Pro 500/Jumbo .22
- LCS SK19 .25
...and a number of old springers, and my relatively new R9.

Fit and finish is superior to any other PCP I have shot. There is a reason this Daystate is multiple times more pricey than my Turkish rifles, and it shows right from the first time you handle them. The only other rifle I own that has similar quality, is the R9.

The Stock is simply fantastic. Checkering and fit comparable to a very good sporting rifle. Transitions from wood to but pads are perfect, unlike on my Turkish rifles. The grip cap is a lovely detail well executed. It's got an overall solid feel, but no oversized beefy lines like the unfortunate Marauder stock who's obscene girth I have grown to dislike immensely for it's almost comical obesity. The Revere is a solid yet lightweight easily pointable rifle. Truly a "sporter" which I intend for all manner of pesting and a wide range of hunting. FYI, I did NOT win the "Woodgrain lottery" My particular Walnut stock is lovely, but it's simply not one of the amazing oes that often turn up. Even though the workmanship that went into this piece of wood is extraordinary, the blanks that ended up in all three of my Turkish walnut stocked air rifles are all "figuratively" more appealing. But of course the workmanship is not as good.

All the metal work is superior as well.
Trigger is fantastic. I've not touched it at all, though I understand there is significant room for adjustment. Loving it as is so far.
The safety is a new design for me, super solid and easy to read, just very different. I like were it is located, you can always see it, and it can be switched easily with either hand.

I purchased the .25, as I intend to use it primarily for pests. This still leaves me with a still substantial 10 round magazine.
This magazine is a wonder in it's self. Perhaps others have similar, but coming from the Marauder and Kral style mags of plastic, this is light-years superior. Machined from solid bits of aluminum, anodized black, it's easy to load, and fits into the rifle with an ease unlike any of the plastic ones. Magnets hold the loading gate shut, and the magazine into the rifle before the bolt is closed to lock it in. I've read that the rattle sound can be considered a drawback. I did not run onto that off the tripod shooting paper, but can imagine it when stalking. It does have one other problem, which is a bit of a major design flaw IMHO, but that's more than just the magazine itself...

The Design flaw: My "We the Plinkers" edition came from AOA with rings and a 3-10 MTC "Mamba" scope. My first impression of this set up was "why the tall rings on this small scope? there's enough clearance for this scope to drop much lower?"

In fact, the scope is mounted so high, that I am unable to achieve a decent cheek weld, I have to "cheat" up and use more of the side of my jaw. Not a terrible or uncommon issue when using a rifle not set up for ones own needs, but it reflects on the speed with which I can get a good view through the scope.
The height is of course due to the needs of the magazine clearance required to fit under the scope. Ok, that's a thing with air rifles, and the solution is to adjust the comb/cheek-piece height to accommodate. This lovely sporter stock looks right, but it simply isn't right for the required height of the scope. To have this wonderful Daystate with it's superior fit and finish in essence, handicapped by the fact that the comb is too low, (or the magazine and thus the scope its too high) ...well that's just bad planning.
If I don't use the amazing magazine and use the single shot, i can mount the scope to a height that offers perfect cheek weld. But I am not going to do that, nor should I be in a place to have to solve this problem either way (cheek pad, adjust my shooting etc..) all are solutions to a problem that should not exist. It simply needs a higher (or adjustable) comb straight from Daystate.
Obviously many overcome this hurdle, and it's such a nice shooter, that I will do the same. But if these ergonomics are important to you, and they should be, you really need to consider this defect before before buying. Even the Marauder has this problem covered (albeit in plastic) the Kratos and Cayden use the same gorgeous walnut for their adjustable combs, and the Pro 500 has a proper comb height out of the box.

Shooting:
I only put three magazines through it before deciding it was time to pack it in. At that point both reg gauges were reading at 110/115 BAR. Unfortunately I don't recall what the regulator meter was reading at the beginning, but after two magazines and at least 3 dry-fires, (approx 33 shots) it was down to reading the same 180 BAR as the main bottle gauge. I'll edit this when I get around to a refill to see where the reg gauge lands when full at 250BAR.

I shot JSB Exact King .25 25.39 gr, the same as AOA used for testing with the scope they dialed in (close but not quite on)
Daystate had dialed in the reg for the Heavies. I'll try those next time.
I don't use a chrono, but AOA's data on the 5 shot test group with Kings are 814-816 FPS for 37.37-37.55 FPE.
Daystate's results using the King Heavies was 726.6-737.4 fps 39.8-41 fpe.
Revere.jpg

I was shooting at 35 yards (the max for my at home "range" ie: backyard) and this rifle with it's excellent trigger is a one hole wonder (lower right) at that range to be sure. I'd be better off with a superior scope, my eyesite is too old for 10x even at 35 yards.
I was surprised to see that even as the reg pressure began to drop with the bottle gauge reading, the poi never began to poop down. My last two shots (upper left) were as high as anything else. This leads me to believe I could get more shots, but I had reason to pack it in, and I was not looking to drop bottle pressure too far under 100 BAR.

All in all, and fantastic, well made peice of engineering with a lot of "just right" Goldilocks about it's build, size etc. I'll see what I can do about the comb/scope height issue. I'll be curious to see how much further I can push it at .25 shot count, but imagine that .22 and .177 would be far more likely options for this small tube gun. In my case, i have my big bottle "load it on Sunday and shoot all week" rifles already, this was just what i was looking for. My most compact rifle with the heaviest hit! :)

5 under a dime at 50? How about 195?

Was weeding through my pellets and rather than throw away a massively beat up tin….I decided to shoot a group with all of them. Probably 75% of the pellets had badly misshapen skirts. Took me about 20 minutes for this 200 shot group at 50y. I think the one all by itself must have been a bad pellet. 😀

Mike
