Pyramid Refurbished Air Tank.

So after a suggestion here made by a Member, instead of Buying a Used tank from Ebay for less than $100.00, I went ahead and ordered a Refurb 90 ci tank from Pyramid. It looked to be in Great shape. The paint on the neck of the bottle has some scratch marks "probably from being removed" but otherwise looked great. The Fresh New Seal is there stating that it had been thoroughly tested to 7500 PSI is there and ready to be Refilled! Yayy Me! Unfortunately It loses 1000 Psi overnight. Now using a Small Pump to air it up is time consuming. From empty it took over several hours only filling to a certain Temp and then allowing time for the pump to cool down. Now I was Told when I ordered it that "It will be all ready to go! You have a Pump and the Correct Filters so Air it up and Have Fun!" I did that. And it Leaks. So back it goes. I am waiting to hear now from the usual commentors about how I somehow "Misinterpreted" what I was told? LOL How could it have passed a 7500 PSI Certification and not been diagnosed with a leak? Riddle Me that! lol
I hope that "Balanza Tres" approves this message.

Airgun Technologies  Vulcan 3 newbie

Morning all,

Newbie to the world of PCP’s here. After a few years of shooting springers I’ve treated myself to a Vulcan 3/500mm/0.177 UK sub 12 ft/lb’er.

Unfortunately I was feeling the cocking action and stupidly double loaded and subsequently blew the breach seal out.

Is it a case of stripping the top of the rifle off and installing the new seal with a dental hook and bit it fiddling, or do I need to de gas the rifle and remove the barrel to access it please?

I appreciate this is super simple stuff to you guys, however I’m wanting to learn the right way and believe you should always ask before jumping straight in.

Many thanks.

FX  Fx reliability and warranty in 2024

*****Ad hominem attack removed.****

I bouth Fx maverick VP 22 6 weeks ago aprox. It came to me in sniper model hardcase and I was suspiccious...When I first time tried to cock my new rifle cocking was terrible,it was out of timing and like there was some rusted travel insid the gun...,I reached for you tubes how to videos and folowing that I noticed that I didnt get o rings inside the barrel, there were no o rings in transfer port, hammer v 7 was damaged, like production damaged and I have sand and polish it to make it works...gun has several marks that indication that it is not one time assabled dissasmbled.I send email to my suplier and he says that it is not possible, that they just got this rifle from Fx and they send it to me like this in sniper model hard case cause Fx send like that sometimes...,and that everything should be fine...I have limited options abouth my case cause I live in Croatia and first Fx store is 2000 km away.
I ordered some o rings from huma, put them in and poi of shift was terrible...I wasted 25 boxes of ammo to try to tune and make this gun works fine...then I put the liner in arrow spinner and I noticed a big wooble at one side so I send email to my suplier and to Fx.Suplier says that he has sended email to Fx to send me missing and damaged parts, after 10 day of no getting parts he said that they are on holidays, then Fx says that I need to contact my suplier...broken record case....In the meantime all screw are rusted and pins from cocking lever having tendency to fall out...
I had Streamline before and that gun worked flawlessly, with zero issues in few years and several dozen of thousands of pellets...
It is obvious that Fx is breaking bad bad bad...I dont care for Dubber,Gerhard and other videos abouth greatness of Fx cause is obvious that they are hard sposored and they can get around 50 liners to pick the best and the straghtess barrel and they show to us some non failed videos of Fx accuracy,as average Joe you could get really hard time with Fx thee days...
Fx done their marketing and they dont care abouth small people anymore, they have terrible quality control and terrible warraty and I think this is my list time dealing with Fx!I will order missing parts somwhere and try to make my maverick work, but also I think I am gonna sell it and buy Uragan or something much more reliable as I see on forums that I am not the only one that strugles with Fx from accuraccy to reliability.

Benjamin  Benjamin Maurader .22 Bolt Uncocking Resistance

I'm not sure what the cocking of a Maurader .22 should feel like as this is my first air rifle and have always shot bolt action firearms. When the bolt it rotated up and pulled back it slides back about 7/8" very smoothly like it would expect. There is a very clear significant increase in pull back strength required from this point to actually get the bolt fully uncocked. I thought it was broken by how much force I was needing to pull back after the 7/8". After applying a good amount of pull back force, the bolt will move an additional 1/4" back then the bolt is able to smoothly slide back all the way forward and be shot. Is this how the action is supposed to work? I feel like this bolt is requiring way to much effort to actually get the bolt to slide all the way back then forward for a pellet to be fired. The action is not a single a single smooth movement, it is very clearly 7/8" back with no effort, then when I put a scale on the rearward bolt pull, I have to pull with 27-30lbs of force to get the bolt fully to the back before it smoothly goes all the way forward. Is this normal? Brand new gun just bought, never shot before.

FX 400 just died. What happened?

Shot a bottle down to empty to move the valve. Last bit of air exited much like a Co2 gun will do when out of gas.
Changed the valve over to a CF bottle. Change went without a hitch. Screwed new bottle on the gun, would not take air.
Put a third bottle on I have, same thing will not take air. Air coming out the barrel. Was ist los?

I think i have been wasting my time with JTS

Sorting them was kinda a waste of time
I recently made a purchase of some JTS 22.07g pellets to try out.
Needed a replacement for the JSB's and their failing quality control
I have been using them straight from the tin for 50yrd shooting with great results, but for 100, i wanted to sort them by weight
This is where i think i wasted my time ...
I sorted out 1500 pellets to the 1/10th of a grain on a scale that goes to 1/100th
I ended up with 2 main groups and 4 ..yes 4 that were lower than 22.00g and Nothing above 22.20g ..Out of 1500!!!
The quality control is So Much Better than JSB!!!
I will still sort for 100 yards, but with these JTS, I just need2 piles

Diana  Firsr springer hunt

I went out hunting collared dove with the Diana 34 .22 cal today. The first time i have ever actually hunted with a springer. We see a bunch where we usually shoot. So I figured that would be a good place to start.

I put a scope on the Diana and went to sight it in. Got it tuned in at 25 and found the spot at 50.

The dove were coming and going all around me while I shot the target. A couple landed right next to the target and marveled at my tight 50 yard patterns. They hardly flinched when the pellet hit the cardboard.

I decided the gun was ready and spotted one on a low branch at about 40 yards. I missed him 3 times before I connected but finally gave him a craniotomy. His mate flew off.

He flopped around a bit and I thought to myself he would make a fine bass lure. About that time a hawk swooped down and got him.

He drug him up under an acacia bush and spent the next 15 minutes eating him. Then he flew up in a tree and waited for me to shoot another.

After an hour or so I'd head shot 4 birds and missed a few long shots. He seemed critical of my hunting skills. You could tell he had his doubts as he observed my many misses.

He was sitting on a tree about 45 yards away. A pair of collared dove came in and landed on the ground a few yards in front of him. I got a nice shot off and the bird got a botched craniectomy. He was a flopper.

The hawk must have thought that was a pretty cool shot (I know i did). He jumped off the branch and dragged that one into the shade. It was worthy of his attention.

So I got 5 head shots on collared dove with a springer and a new hunting buddy.

I got a crappy cell phone photo of him stealing my first bird. A crappy video too. I know it's not high res action shots through a high dollar digital scope but he's still pretty groovy.

I'm headed out this afternoon again. Maybe he's still hungry.

Sanctioned for Rats…

I have learned that if I want to go peacefully ratting my wife has to “green light” the outing. I pretty much lay the groundwork a week ahead of time. And then we do stuff together, walking, bicycling, etc. Then after some home chores? I blurt out, honey I would like to go ratting tonight is that OK?🙈😈💥🐀💥🐀💥🐀 And off I go with my sanctioned outing… Am off after them tonight, and no matter how many rats I’ve kill its always exciting. Their eye shine and furtive movements make for fun shooting. And the satisfying thwack, or sound of hydrostatic expansion with a good head shot? Saweet!!!

Tuning  Thinking out loud....shorter barrel lower fps

I've been playing around with my Krait Standard just for fun. I've generally shot pellets at around 900 fps give or take.
My Krait reg is jammed and came that way so it's pretty much un-adjustable while I await a replacement reg.
Trying to get optimum tuning is difficult to match my expectations since I'm limited to just adjusting the hammer spring and pellet weights.
With 15 gr pellets it's way too fast until I get the hammer so low it's inconsistent.
18 are a bit closer but still flying.
So today I remembered I had some 26 grain JSB's and gave them a go. At 35 yards they are nice and tight and FPS is very consistent. They are also shooting at around 805 fps.

I know that shorter barrels need more pressure to get to speed, but I'm now wondering if shorter barrels may perform better in general at a slower speed to allow the pellet to be more stabilized? IE a longer barrel at more pressure allows more spin/stabilizing of the pellet before it leaves the barrel? Therefore a lower speed keeps the pellet in the barrel a bit longer without needing to stabilize as much forward velocity?

I could be way off or over complicating this as I'm no expert on ballistics.

I was just surprised at how well these performed at over 100 fps slower speed while actually increasing fpe.........

Ed glass clarity significance

My observation only! I find the difference in glass clarity seemingly only marginally better- depending on the scopes compared of course! But a significant other is not so readily apparent. I find I can get decent view with average glass and good magnification, but I find I suffer eye fatigue after 60-90 minutes of shooting use. My groups stay tighter for longer periods of time shooting with great glass. Granted, I’m closing in on 60. This is why I’m a delta fan. Yeah they’re expensive. But I see why when I don’t use ED glass, my zero tech thrives are HD. Best bargain for me so far. But delta is another league, the 56mm bell really helps less than young eyes. Especially target shooting at 100 yards or more.
