Crosman  Crosman 2240 PCP Please check this build out need your thoughts.

Im looking into purchasing a Crosman 2240 that has the following mods. I dont really know much about 2240s but I really like the idea of having a very powerful PCP pistol. This is what it has and I would like a price estimate on how much I should pay if possible? Thank you.

2,400 psi Safepack from froggys airguns. -Custom milled-OEM iron sight compatible steel breech, with dovetail rail system.
-Hard hammer spring, AND pin.
-BOSS valve. -Enlarged transfer port.
-14 inch barrel to accommodate the safepack.
-Lightened trigger -OEM Crosman stock.

Seller said that the pistol operates best at 1500psi! is that normal? Seller also said it can shoot three rounds before having to fill is that also normal? image attached. Thank you.

To Scope Cover Or Not

Most of my rifles have scopes on them. They are all kept on a horizontal tabletop rifle rack.
When not in use, they are covered with a soft sheet to keep the dust off them.
I do not keep my scope covers on when they are on the rack or transporting them to the range in a dimpled foam hard case.
I am very careful with them when I move them around.
What is your preference, scope covers on, or scope covers off?

Funny squirrel story ( to me anyway)

Just had a squirrel on top of bird feeder. Wife not home. I’d let them be if on the ground.
So anyway went down cellar and grabbed my revere 25. Empty, no air or ammo. Gassed up with bottle and loaded mag with Aea 25.3 s
slowly opened window. Put rifle on ledge , now at this range because of scope height I should be shooting a couple inches low.
Didnt take that into consideration. Aimed at neck up through head at this angle. Let shot go... boom whole thing squirrel and feeder
crashes to ground. Squirrel twitching in snow. I slipped my boots on and went to get.

Not there ! What ! No blood on snow, looked for a blood trail. W T F went to retrieve feeder …thin steel wire supporting it cut.
Well as I brought into house to repair I got a hell of a laugh out of it. Haa he just ran away as I went to take picture.

Got the Kratos bottle off…sort of.

I was able to get the bottle free from the action, but as you can see in the pic there is still this adapter connected to the bottle which will prevent me from slipping a depinger brush inside.

it was already really difficult to get the bottle off, and now this little piece seems all but permanently installed. I can’t tell if maybe that bit that I have circled in red is just paint, or if this is somehow tack-welded or glued in Place. I suppose I can get channel locks and try to wrestle it off at the flat collar/“cap” (though that might chew up my connector) but I want to really make sure I am not doing something wrong before I go brute forcing my way to a damaged gun.

what do you think, muscle this thing off? Or is there something I am missing?

HW/Weihrauch  Rekord trigger adjustments

I wrote this for another forum this morning. I figured it might be appreciated here as well.

There are three adjustments on a Rekord trigger.

The first and least known is the metal tab that hangs down from the housing in front of the trigger blade. That's used to adjust first stage travel. Bending that tab backwards will reduce first stage travel to almost nothing. It's a good cheat to set back the triggers resting position so it's more reachable. It does nothing to change the break point. I don't recommend eliminating all first stage travel because it helps prevent bump fires on a trigger that's set too light. This tab is easiest to adjust with the trigger guard removed.

The second adjustment is the big soft aluminum screw behind the blade. This is the most used adjustment. Hence there's a hole in the trigger guard to access it. Turning the screw out reduces trigger pull weight. Turning it in obviously increases it. It's said that turning it out too far can result in the trigger not reseting. I've never experienced that, but I've had where turning it out too much causes the trigger to lose first stage return from the second stage wall. Basically if you come back to the second stage without firing the trigger blade dangles loose and doesn't spring back to the first stage position. Every rekord trigger has its own limit to how light you can get the trigger down to with this adjustment screw. Most will get down to a pound or a little less.

The third adjustment is the Torx 8 screw. It's accessible only with the trigger guard off. For good reason this screw is know as the "Forbidden Srew". This screw can get you in a lot of trouble. Trust me on this there's a pellet in my old shop ceiling and neighbors garage to prove it.

This "forbidden screw" adjusts the sear engagement. If you turn this screw in too far the trigger will not set. Turning the screw in reduces sear engagement. This reduces second stage trigger creep and to small degree pull weight. There's a circular window cut out of the housing where sear engagement can be checked. Even though that window exist the trigger behaves differently under the spring pressure of a cocked rifle. A trigger that tests ok out of the rifle may fire the instant you take the safety off. Or it may bump fire in actual use when it didn't out of the gun. If you dare mess with this adjustment I recommend you make adjustments in eighth turns or less. Changes are drastic and come quickly.

I'm not going to address stoning and polishing because I don't do it unless there's a visible flaw or uneven wear. I believe there's more to be lost than gained doing this. Some people swear it makes a huge difference. Frankly I've never noticed that but that could just be me. Without polishing I get most of my rekords down to a smooth clean 8-10oz break. I've gotten a couple down to a safe 5oz. Safe as in won't bump fire.

The rekord trigger is a pretty magnificent piece of engineering if you consider the amount of pressure it has to restrain compared to the amount of pressure it takes to release it. Officially I don't recommend you mess with your triggers and I don't for others. Use this information At your own risk.

Traditional Rifle  SOLD Walther LGU .177 ($950)

This is a tuned Walther LGU in .177 with a Bruno Silva trigger installed. This is the smoothest shooting springer I’ve ever shot. My buddy tuned it and did some modifications all listed in the pictures down below. The trigger pull is super smooth and has a distinct second stage stop with a very light trigger pull. The safety is not functional once the BS trigger is installed, so the safety does not work. Please keep this in mind if you are considering purchasing this rifle.

The rifle is shooting JSB 8.44s (4.52) at an average of 783 fps. The rifle is in good condition with minimal markings on the wood and blueing noted in the pictures below.

With the modifications on this rifle, there is absolutely no noticeable vibration and a very smooth and quick shooting cycle, making high magnification target shooting very easy.

I am selling this rifle because I have a large collection of springer rifles that I need to thin out for new projects. Please let me know if you have any questions and refer to the pictures below for the work done on the rifle.

I am asking for $950 shipped to you using PayPal FF. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

-Adam

Finding YOUR Zero - shot by shot

Every Airgun is unique and every different pellet choice presents its own ballistic challenges.
Although I only punch paper for setting up my Airguns; this method of finding your optimal zero can easily apply to everyone.
BUT
it is a lot of work, albeit satisfying work, which results in a great visual tool and very useful information about your Airgun and your pellet choice Ballistics.
For starters you can zero your Airgun at 25 yards - I chose 30 yards - but I could have chosen 25 or 35 yard. At this point I’m just interested in finding the apex of my trajectory.
Next step: using some 8”x11” graph paper, tape them together on some coroplast; then draw a straight line all the way across the top and then mark your line with a X every inch or so.
Label your X marks by the 1/2 yard from 10-55 or however far away you plan on shooting.
i recommend the next step to be done from a bench to minimize variables.
place your target at 10 yards and begin shooting With your point of aim on the line at the X for each distance. Your pellets point of impact maybe or will be lower than your point of aim, and that’s part of the important data.
Below picture shows my results shooting .177 jsb 13.4 RD’s from a Redwolf at 812 fps.
when finished you will have created a real life ballistic chart for your gun and pellet choice. Useful for determining holdovers and or clicking the turret!

Of great interest to me was how quickly the pellet began dropping after my chosen zero of 30 yards. 3" drop by the time we reached 55 yards.
wind was actually blowing left to right in accordance with the pellet drifting

Airforce  New Offering - Airforce Airguns Tex-Rex .510

The Airforce Tex-Rex is a .510 caliber offering with upgrades culminating in power levels topping 1100 FPE!! As for now the author of the article claims that projectiles can reach speeds up to 1250 fps making this a super sonic offering (which is too hot for my liking). I wonder how accuracy is affected shooting that fast.

The upgrades listed are as follows: a 34" Lothar Walther barrel, a 500cc CF reservoir holding 310 bar/4500 psi, initial offering will be .510 to be followed in .457, an overall weight of around 8 lbs, length of 54.25", and M-lok slots on foregrip. I'm sure what sort of valve they're using, but this sounds exciting.

Cleaning new barrels.

Why would you ship a dirty barreled gun? That goes for new OR used. It shouldn't matter if you are an individual or a sales company, new or used. I like to get a clean barrel on a new to me gun. I am past 12 patches on a NEW BSA GRT. Both sides. But an HW 90 from Pyramyd was a suspect as well, in 0.25. Still waiting for my 20 cal HW 90 from AOA. But I requested they service it first. Not sure I have received a ship notice from them yet. Had lots of life go by recently. But at the finish of cleaning cycles I use three cleaning pellets backed by a pellet to help finish drying out the barrel. I follow with a 2nd pellet and see if there is heavy diesel effect. There is still rusty looking residue coming out of the BSA GRT (Gas Ram Technology) in 177. Do most people ship with dirty barrels ? ¿ ? I solved that on my part as I'm leaving my toys to the family. Be Well Boys and Girls, Bandito.

N/A  Yet another buying help thread

Hi everyone, new member and my first post here.

I'm looking to upgrade from my Gamo Magnum break-barrel to a PCP rifle of good quality. I'm looking for a rifle that is precise up to 100 yd, has shot count above 100 per fill, as quiet as possible with a suppressor, and is very reliable / low maintenance. I have a budget of up to $2,500 for the rifle, and I already know I have to buy other things as well.

I like the features of the newer electronic guns but I am hesitant about the electronics lasting for decades. I'm spending a lot here and I want a rifle that I can hand down to my kids.

So something mechanical with a good trigger and good options for tuning on the fly would be great. I'm looking at .25 or .30 caliber, primarily for benchrest target shooting. I don't plan on hunting except for taking out rats in my backyard.

The FX Impact M4 seems good but I'm worried about maintenance and overall build quality. Other than that, I've been recommended a Daystate Wolverine HP, which is nice looking, but the shot count is lower than I prefer.

Your opinions and guidance is much appreciated!

Shot SHOW 2025 and American Airgunner VIDEOS HERE FIRST

American Airgunner is at it again! I am down at SHOW SHOW 2025 with all the craziest and most awesome NEW AIRGUNS + ACCESSORIES on the market. I will be posting our videos below as they come out. MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW THE THREAD so you don't miss a beat.

LET's start with what I am calling a MODERN DAY THEOBEN ELIMINATOR. Otherwise known as the NEW AirVenturi OMNIstorm Break Barrel.
Watch, Comment and drool 🤤! Let's GO

Ugly paintwork.

Hello everybody,
Being a newbie here but not to air rifle shooting, this is my first thread. I have recently purchased a very nice air rifle, the make is irrelevant. It has been subject to a rather sub standard camo paint job which I am considering removing. The wooden stock is unpainted but the barrel, bottle, and action are painted. (I think its tinned paint and not sprayed) Normal DIY would see me reaching for a well known acidic paint stripper brand, but I know this would be fatal. Does anyone have any experience in this and can offer some product recommendations and/or methods please.
Thank you.

Coupon Codes

coupon codes ? Where do they come from ?
Who gets them ?
How does on get them ?
etc., etc.

just ordered my second gun from Airgun Revision. Like other online stores it has a spot
for a code. There’s a brief post about that specifically but I’m asking about the whole
subject.
Anybody got any knowledge or ideas about it ?
thanks,

HW/Weihrauch  Here it is. My last airgun came today.

My new to me R8 came in today. The gun is gorgeous. I've seen new guns come out of the box not this nice. Butt pad doesn't look like it's ever seen a shoulder.

Like many old Weihrauchs gun has slight barrel droop and drift. Starboard in this case. Both are unfortunate but fixable. Nothings ever perfect.

I bought this rifle thinking it'd be a perfect blend of my sweetheart Hw30 plinkers and Hw50 size. Picking up the rifle, its more like an under powered Hw50 that feels like an Hw95. Without a scope the R8 weighs the same as my scoped modern Hw50. That's 7.2 lbs on a scale. That's only about 5 ozs lighter than the advertised weight of an unscoped Hw95. If my R8 had rear sight the difference would be even less. The R8 looks about a couple inches longer than my 50.

I'm not a fan of heavier rifles so I'll have to see if this becomes a favorite or a flip. Here's pictures of it naked next to my modern 50 with scope. The rifle is gorgeous so I'm not gonna get hurt if I don't like it. I still haven't shot it yet. I'll have to shoot it a few times to see if I want to invest more money and time into this rifle.

That's it for now.
Be well
Ron.
