Scope Alignment Help Needed

I am sighting in my Benjamin Akela with a 12 power scope and here’s what happens. At 50 yds, I’m right on target, but the 25 yds POI is 1.5 inches to the right. If I adjust the 25 yd POI to be on target, then the 50 yd POI is to the left. Anyone know what’s going on?
Seem like the scope and barrel might be out of parallel? Is that possible? How would I fix it.
Thanks

Results  Southwest Airgunners June 2022 Match Report

We had another great match this weekend up around 8600 feet above sea level in the cool pines. The weather was great, with threats of afternoon monsoon thunderstorms building up each afternoon but never quite materializing. We got a few spits and sprinkles but not enough to even settle the dust.

Friday Evening Silhouette
8 shooters participated in the < 20fpe silhouette match.

How bout Steve shooting a perfect silhouette score?!?!?! Great shooting Steve. Those perfect scores happen occasionally but they're tough to come by when shooting tiny little chickens at 70 yards with <20 fpe.

Field Target
Friday morning we set a 12 lane, 56 shot match. And yes, the math doesn't quite add up, and that's because the first 4 lanes had 3 targets/6 shots each, the remaining 8 lanes had the typical 2 targets/4 shots each. The game plan was to set the course with enough (mostly) pistol legal targets so that some could be used for both a rifle and a pistol match. We used the near and the middle targets on lanes 1-4 and then used lane 7 and lane 11 for pistol. That resulted in only two pistol targets that wouldn't be quite pistol legal at a grand prix: a 1.5inch at 36 yards was just one yard too far, and a 3/8 inch target at 10 yards. I understand official pistol rules allow for kill zones of 1/2 inch and higher. So, we ended up with a 56 shot rifle match, with a course Troyer of 32 and a 24 shot pistol match, with a course Troyer of 28. There were 3 targets on the rifle course with Troyer of 40 or more and the hardest pistol target was a Troyer of 34.7 coming from a 3/4 inch kill zone at 26 yards. The easiest pistol target was still a 20.7, so, overall a pretty tough pistol match, at least it seemed that way to me.

Rifle Scores

Franz shot VERY well. He has only had that Huntsman for 2 weeks and was just marveling at how accurate a nice PCP can be. His seems to be on the higher end of the accuracy spectrum as he was same-holing many of his practice shots prior to the official match. He also stated that he was having a blast picking tiny twigs off the trees. An accurate airgun is a smile maker for sure.

Many thanks to Steve Q and Larry for detouring on their way to the match to pick up the the targets at Rex's. Also thank you to all who helped set up and tear down (I think it was everybody actually).

Photos taken throughout the weekend (thanks Larry)

HW97K scary safety pin issue

Hi,

I have the HW97K which is a great springer, except its red safety pin which I do not like at all.
Recently after the airgun was cocked and ready to shoot, when I pressed the safety red pin,
it fired by itself !!! Scary. Luckily it was pointed on target. The trigger is factory and I haven't
tried to make it lighter. This happened only once but since then, I have stopped using it too
much.

How is this even possible?
Can anyone think of a scenario that this would happen?

Thanks.

one or both

shoot with both eyes open.

The reason for this is if you close one eye the face muscles are never in the same place twice so this hinders the right eye and means your not consistent each time you take aim.

If you close your left eye with different muscle tension you'll note your right eye line changes.

I have never heard this explained this way before

Scammers still at it hard core on WTB ads.

Just a word of caution and I bring this up as I have read of others getting scammed in this same manner. Ignore the “this other guy has what you are looking for (insert email address)” when you have a WTB ad posted. Just got this message from someone that joined the forum today. I not so kindly told him what his friend Paul could do and called him a very derogatory name. I know childish but people like that get at me very deep. If I could track them down I’d honestly probably end up in prison. I know this comes with WTB ads and just want to let others know so they don’t get taken with the hey my friend Paul has what you need. Luckily there are good people here and I’ve probably found what I am looking for.

NLA Leupold, NF, RAW, WAR, FX and more

I have the following to offer for trade. MK2 Impact .357/.30, WAR Flex .30/.25 loaded, PreAF RAW HM1000X .25 right handed action chassis, mint Leupold MK4 8.5x25-50 IR TMR reticle with sunshade, NF BR scopes and plenty more to offer. Hoping to trade for working, excellent/minty condition….30 SK-19 Full/Semi, FX M3 Impact .25 and up, Evanix .30 Full/Semi, Evol .30 and .25 RX2 but open to other offers (customs and custom stocks a plus for me). I can add cash for right deals. If wanting to buy make me an decent/respectable offer (low ballers need not apply). Message for offers, info and pics. All these work perfectly just seeing what’s out there in a world of inflated costs. Let my excess meet your needs and yours to meet my need to hunt airguns. Thank you.

ARH (Maccari) Tuned HW35E

I just wanted to give a shout out to ARH for putting together one heck of a kit for the HW35E. Aside from the kit, the barrel has been polished using Kroil, JB Bore Paste, and a dab of Permatex Valve Grinding Compound. It took nearly 200 shots to re-season the barrel, but this gun is shooting better than ever with JSB Exact 15.89gr.

Shot string as follows:

6x 5 shots groups at 32yds (light wind <5mph):

For giggles, I shot a 15 shot group with 5.53 FTTs. Before the polish, this gun preferred 5.54 and was pretty fussy with the 5.53s. Now it is fussy with 5.54 and seems to like the 5.53s... I can't seem to explain that. Low right "flier" was me. Its dark out and I'm using a UTG compact so it was a bit hard to see. I'm think I'm going to need to test these 5.53s a bit more now too.
