Should we call it hobbie or adictive compulsion?... Or Rabbit Hole?

Our own limitations to achieve the perfection using not perfect equipment and depending of wind, make us make continuos efforts (time and money) to try to reach that carrot that make the horse pulling the cart.

No matter how many PCP' rifles we buy, what kind of ammo we use, how expensive they are, what accesories you add, this hobbie is more difficult than golf because the wind factor is absolutely out of our control and it will take the pellet of a perfect executed shot by the best rifle in world to where ever it decides.

Our lack of concious make us pursue what is unreachable by nature. But indeed improve our skills.

Vulcan 3 500 .177 Cal arrived.

I already received the rifle.

Already adjusted the trigger.

Already mounted the neutralizer for the down sharp weaver rail.

The rifle arrived shooting the JSB 13.43 grain at 886 fps.

If the wind stops blowing, the rifle is EXTREMLY accurate at 100 yards.

The rifle shoulders really confortable, as the Uragan does.

I received the rifle in the morning and already shot about 300 pellets.

Rifle is silent, but not as much as the Daystate Renegade is. But is lighter than the Renegade and gives much more shots per fill with more power.

I have only taken one starling with it and the shock of the hit was visible.

.177 Cal is ideal for plinking. It is cheaper than other calibers. But the effect of the wind in where you hit is evident.

AfterMarket kits for my gun at least, a TX20

Sorry but need to say this:

Its is always amazing to me how some feel the need to immediately buy some tune kit out of the the box, and well before 500-1000 pellets. . Honestly, its been a while with me and shooting, Out of the box, my TX200 was grouping at 3 inches at 50 yards, I need to relearn my shooting skills for sure I haven't shot any rifle for 30 yeas and was quite happy w that group off hand for the time being. I think the TX200 I just purchased has great potential out of the box. I would certainly expect an $ 800 gun would not need an imeadiae Tune Kit and I certainly plan to shoot this gun a lot more before I start to think about after market spring/ guide kits, Just my opinion and no intention to offend anyone.

My point is, should you buy a quality air gun, wait and practice before investing in an upgrade kit, just my opinion.

A fun twofer during lunch break ;)

I have a couple of local farms that I'm able to shoot at near where I work. I will often pop by one or two of them on lunch break and see if I can knock a few out - which is what I did earlier today. Fun story - see the silo off to the right? That's 55 yds. There is another one to the left of the barn that is out of frame - 60 yds to the top of that one - but the story is @the right one. Mr Male pigeon was chasing Miss Female pigeon and the two of them landed up there. I had her dead to rights - cross hairs locked right on to her solid, steady - she was on her way to pigeon heaven. The scope only being zoomed in to ... I don't know - 12, 14x 'ish . . . I could see a fair amount of real estate easy all around her. I could see "him" praddling about - strutting his stuff trying to be "all that" to impress her. ( "Hey baby -- lets make some baby pigeons . . . . " lol ) I'm watching this and start mumbling to myself . . . ".... he's gonna walk / strut his big dumb self right across my cross hairs . . . . " and sure enough - right on queue - he did. BAM!!

Got 'em both. Like the guy on "The A-Team" used to say - "I love it when a plan comes together".

I'm looking for a 22 cal Daystate Air Wolf. AIR Wolf. Similar to the one pictured (image taken from web to avoid confusion as to which Wolf gun I'm looking for)

If you have one that you are no longer using or taking space in the safe, please contact me and maybe it can come to live at my house.

Thanks,

Clean Shot, Clean Meat

Not much to it. We saw each other - it stopped, I kneeled and lined up my reticle for a brain shot. I shot into the left eye and as far as I can tell the projectile perforated a lower portion of the brain. It appeared to have exited behind the right eye and below the ear. It dropped where it was shot and movement ceased within a relatively short period. Shot with a .22 Prod topped with a Vector Veyron 3-12x44mm scope using Predator Polymag shorts. No visible parasites on the carcass. Heart, liver, and kidneys looked clean and healthy.

Compressor already slowing down

Purchased one of Amazon's $250 shoebox compressors and have been happy with it.

When I first purchased, it would start at 19⁰ and finish at 26⁰ and take 1min 32 seconds average to fill from 100-200bar.

Last night I aired up my rifle and heard it squeaking a bit, noticed it slowed down significantly at about 160bar and didn't get to 200bar for another 1min 44 seconds.

Overall end temp of compressor is finishing at 43⁰

×××EDIT××× This was fill number 23 for transparency

BIG DIFFERENCE!

I'll pull the shroud off of it and see what she needs. I do have 2 rebuild kits for it that came with it, so we'll see.

I'll add pics of rebuild and show you what I've found. May help someone else.

Delta Wolf - 1.5 years later...

I got a new to me .30 caliber Delta Wolf a few weeks ago. And let me tell you, OMG is it accurate!!! It LOVES the JSB 50.15 grain pellets at 880 FPS, and STACKs them at 100 yards. No BS, I was shooting on a steel plate at 100 yards Saturday and it just kept putting each pellet on top of the mark from the previous pellet. It was doing this so consistently that I kinda got bored and moved to 146 yards shooting KYL swingers!

As you may know, I've had a .25 DW for about 1 1/2 years now, and although it was accurate, it never was any better than either my .22 Red Wolf HP or my .30 FX Bobcat Mk2. Truth be told, I beat the crap out of that .25 DW, hunting, benchrest, extreme field target, and mostly speed practice. So much so that I broke both brass bushings for the cocking lever and had them replaced with stainless steel. I shot it at RMAC 2021 Speed and made the finals, but the gun broke at the 2022 RMAC Speed Challenge (first lane) - the cocking arm microswitch failed. Anyway, AoA allowed me to trade my .25 for a used .30 caliber updated version. Thanks Airguns of Arizona!!~!

Well, this .30 DW is better and more accurate than either gun. This is the first gun I've shot since I got my (EBR 2019 (S) winning) .30 Bobcat in 2017 that is measurably more accurate. The shot cycle is much smoother than the old(er) .25 DW or the Red Wolf HP or Bobcat Mk2. I can keep the crosshairs on the aim point during the shot cycle with little to no movement... And the gun makes the 86 FPE I shoot the 50.15 JSB pellets at with only 132 bar reg. pressure. Plus it gets over 50 shots per fill at that power level.

I'm so happy with this updated Delta Wolf, that I'll be shooting it at EBR to walk the walk. I also have a .22 slow twist barrel kit that shoots pellets (RDMs) as well as my .22 Red Wolf HP, so I'll be installing that to shoot the Open Class Speed Silo at EBR also (I have a 24 shot Midwest Elite Airguns magazine for the DW, works perfectly!) I'll swap barrels between events.

Anyway, if you've had reservations about the Delta Wolf or Alpha Wolf, no worries - they are now good to go, and are very highly recommended! Yes, they are expensive. But so is a Ferrari or Aston Martin, and that's what you're getting...
