PCP Rifle  WTS .30 Skout Epoch

Selling my .30 Epoch set up for BR. I am interested in FT more at this point and playing with old springers. I haven’t shot it in several months.
It has 6 barrel liners. Three 25” and three 35”. The “negative” liners are the only ones that I have used. It shoots Zan 30 BRs at 950 fps VERY WELL! I’ll throw in a box.
It has the Arca rail, the Skout weight and tripod. Also has sage tactical weights as well.
Comes with Donny FL Ronin .357 with 1/2x20 adapter on 35” barrel and stock moderator on 25” barrel
It also has the Swan harmonic barrel tuner and bag rider.
It has the Orcair digital gauge but somehow it switched to BAR when I charged it this time. It comes with the stock gauge too.
I also have many spare parts and 2 Oring sets.
I’m probably forgetting something.
Thanks for looking. Feel free to reach out for more pics or any questions.

Umarex  UMAREX NOTOS - More power without a bottle?

Im considering the inexpensive, agile, and light weight Umarex Notos.
But Id like it modified and ported for more power, while maintaining the oem tube style reservoir.
I will probably send it to Firewalker for his expertise.

Am I expecting too much, out of a modified Notos with a oem, tube-style reservoir?

1. More Power: 825 FPS (or greater) with a 18 grain JSB pellet would be ideal IF possible.
2. No Bottle: I would like to keep the TUBE style reservoir. A larger, longer, aftermarket tube-style reservoir is fine, if needed.
3. Im NOT concerned about shot count... 12 shots would be plenty for my intentions.
4. Id like to eliminate the fill adapter, and replace it with a Foster fitting.
5. Id like to relocate the reservoir gauge on the buisness end, to a reservoir gauge on the side of the tube reservoir.
6. Id like to incorporate a regulator gauge.
7. For economical reasons only, Id prefer to maintain the OEM barrel and moderator, as both seem to be effective.

Am I asking for too much, out of a modified Notos with the oem tube-style reservoir?

Competition Catagories

As a prior military pistol and rifle competitor who was a member of AMU for a short period during my military career I would like to know how competitors in the Airgun community feel about having to compete against individuals who are factory or sponsored individuals? Should they have a separate classification in matches? When I was in the military soldiers whose primary job was to represent their service competed separately from the average soldier. I think that was only fair since we had access to weapons and gunsmith services the average soldier did not. I don’t see the same level of fairness in the Airgun matches yet? Am I missing something in how competitors are classified? I’d like to see this sport grow and for people to be able to have a class that they have a chance to win in and receive prizes that are commensurate with what the sponsored individuals are winning. Like to know how you guys feel about it?

Umarex  notos not filling

i finally got the notos i just bought, but im running into a issue where it will not fill now, it almost sounds like its leaking out of the fill probe or the female quick connect fitting. i tried talking to pyramydair who i bought it through and they are telling me to basically trim the fill probe on the notos(i just bought this, im not trimming anything). i kept pushing the male fill prob into the female with my hands and somehow got it to about 1k psi, or so the gauge says, but after another 300 or so pumps its still at 1k and not budging.

Daystate  ֍ Huntsman Revere —vs.— ֍ Wolverine R

֍ Huntsman Revere —vs.— ֍ Wolverine R

Just recently I stumbled onto another thread that continued to give me the impression that the
Daystate Huntsman Revere
was somehow magic.

❓ So, how does the Huntsman COMPARE to the Wolverine R?

❓ And why does the Huntsman elicit so much reverence and adoration — but the Wolverine does not?

Please, enlighten me! 😊

Tuning  FPE for whitetail ethical dispatch?

Fellows

I'm curious to know from the ones of you who have and do still hunt whitetail deer with a big bore air rifle.
Could you please tell me what you believe to be the most "REQUIRED" FPE at say 50 and 100 yards to dispatch a whitetail with a body shot, no brain or head shots.
Also, which caliber and brand gun did you use?
Which brand and size of ammo did you make the shot with?
How far did the deer go after being shot?
And lastly, was the shot a complete pass through with a decent blood trail?

Thanks
Ray

Benjamin  PRod Update

Hi all,

Just wanted to post my latest update to the PRod. Recently added a DonnyFL adaptor to fit my Hogan Decimeater.

I was hoping for an improvement in accuracy. This seems to have been realized, but needs further testing to really prove.

Had a lot of trouble with baffle strikes at first. Resorted to backing the shroud off 1/2 turn and adding an O-ring between the Decimeater and the adapter.

Inside my garage the gun registers a meek 90 db peak. For reference the bolt cocking is 84 db. So the shot is pretty quiet!

Next step is looking like a Huma regulator and gauge delete.

Pictures attached for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks everyone!

PS: Go buy a Tom West stock. This log gets compliments from everyone I show it to and he was a real pleasure to do business with. Quick turn around too. Can’t believe I almost forgot to shoutout for him.

Brocock/BRK  Pathfinder XR Revisited…

Ever since the arrival of my Ghost XR Carbine the Pathfinder XR has been somewhat neglected. The Atomics are locked in, but the Pathfinders’ future seemed in doubt. With the huge Aztec Emerald 6-24x-50 IR SF FFP atop. She is heavy and the Ghost easily duplicates its capabilities. Today I mounted my little WHT 3-12x FFP SF IR compact scope on the Pathfinder. This lightened her up right away, lighter than the Ghost with G1 Athlon Helos 6-24x-50 IR SF FFP atop. After sighting in at 25 yards, I started murdering my favorite targets. Sidewalk chalk cut down to chipmunks head size. The hits at 25, 30, 40 and 50 yards reminded me of why I’m keeping the Pathfinder in the stable.

Crosman  Marauder bolt repaired.

Many months ago, I short stroked the last pellet in my Marauder. So just like I was told, I hammered the mag out shearing the pellet. Unfortunately, I didn’t secure the bolt open and it slipped back closed (as much as it could) and I broke the pellet probe off. It looked like powder pressed metal but I digress, it was broke. A new bolt is impossible to find, Crosman doesn’t have them and neither does anyone else, obviously I guess…

So it’s been idol since. A buddy of mine was determined to fix the bolt but it wasn’t possible to chuck it in a lathe. He ended up securing it in a drill press vice and drilled out the hole then pressed a piece of wire in it. I’ve reinstalled it in the gun and when open it retracts enough to insert the magazine I’m certain it’s going to work fine. I’ll know when I get the new air gauge installed which sprung a leak when I degassed the gun. Hopefully it should be here this week.

AEA or JTS vs JSB and H&N

I know there are others, for this discussion, we’ll key in on the big brands. Target, and pest. Now I don’t shoot field targets or benchrest, but I shoot occasionally pests of all kinds - dirt nap central. With that, let’s dive in. My benchrest buddy claims the AEA /JTS are way more consistent coming out of the tin. Hence, sales of JSB , etc, well, I shoot mostly rats, pigeons, squirrels, trash pandas and so forth. Now the grain weight of the JSB stuff matches well with the hades/atomics and polymags. Why wouldn’t I lean towards the JSB stuff, in spite of their variances? I’ve dodged H&N cuz I don’t use them. Personal preference, nothing more. So why use the Chinese stuff if their grain weight is different and possibly their lead make up? Thoughts?
