Of Course It'll Fail - So What's Next

I know my second Yong Heng will eventually fail as the first one did. So in the mid price range - $1,000 to $2,000(ish) what's the best buy? Tuxing two cylinder (003 model)? Air Venturi? Omega Super or Turbo Charger? Can't really justify an Alkin or anything else in that price range. I'll use it 1-2, maybe 3 times a week to top off an 88 cubic foot/9 liter CF bottle from 150/200 up to 310 BAR. Do not need a portable compressor and prefer something self-contained without the need for external cooling and auto purging would be a real plus. Opinions and experience appreciated.

First PCP.

Pretty much decided on the Marauder synthetic in 22. Is it worth the upgrade to the Walther barrel or is the stock barrel as good now? I like the looks of the Cayden option, for about the same price as the Marauder with the barrel upgrade. But the Marauder is a "known quantity" proven system with parts and aftermarket stuff all in place.
Farthest possible shot from my suburban back porch to the far corner of the property is 60 yards. Marauder should be plenty of power and nice and quiet by all accounts.

Thought my gun was broke, Crazy pellets

Kinda of apples to oranges , But I heard you say H&N Mine is 177 Uragan is my H&N pellet gun just because I got so many H&N 177 10.65 grain, Gun has always been a super accurate gun, for over a year shooting the H&N Then gun started shooting all over the place coffee can size groups at 48 yards, Open a can of redesigned H&N same thing cleaned my barrel again,, Dam I thinking some wrong with my gun.. Picked up a can of my Vulcan gun JSB pellets EXACT HEAVY DIABOLO 10.34 gr. One ragged hole at 48 yards 15 shots, loaded another magazine same thing,, Something changed from one can to the other in the H&N pellets, I even opened up two more new H&N tins same thing,,, So its not my gun its the pellets.
Not sure I am going to buy any thing H&N again, I just got to many pilling up in the back of my pellet cabnit Just add the 177 back with the 22 and 25 H&N tins of pellets my guns don't shoot ,
Mike

Taipan Veteran - the 5 minute Huma regulator adjustment

This makes changing regulator pressure quick and easy.....without taking the gun apart. see attached, drill dimples (I used a Dremel) in the regulator - paint in the dimples (I used the wife's fingernail polish) - drill the dimples to align with the pressure marks taped on the regulator body - and one on the adjust valve. Now, all ya need to do is drain the air from the chamber - unscrew/remove the air gauge from the end of the tube and insert a long screwdriver to adjust, (i adapted a screwdriver apex to fit my Dewey cleaning rod) might need some light to see... insert the screwdriver down the tube and twist to desired setting. using the dimple's to align to your desired pressure. It don't get any easier than this guys.

My first black squirrel!

I was in the middle of re-tuning my 25 caliber FX Maverick when I heard my bird feeder being raided. I turned and looked, surprised to see my very first black squirrel. Unfortunately for Mr. Squirrel I don't take kindly to them destroying my feeders. Typically hades are my go-to small game pellet but since I was in the middle of tuning, my mag was loaded with FX 34's. He took one to the dome at about 30yds, complete pass-through of course.

The classic is gone. What might be next?

I understand the edgun leshiy is the predecessor to the leshiy 2. But I feel the biggest thing they have in common is that they both fold. Is the lelya 2.0 next? I wonder why Ed and team decided to get rid of the awesome simple little platform .
No genuin concern here. Just curious on anyones thoughts or anything I may have missed on the stop of production. I have considered a lelya 2.0 in .25 but only if I got rid of the classic !

NLA WTS AGT Vulcan 3 .30 Cal 700mm *Final Listing*

I have for sale a very lightly used Talon Tunes AGT Vulcan 3 .30 caliber 700mm I purchased from AGN user “Adam” on the classifieds last July 2022. He had lost his job and I jumped in to help out by buying his airgun at his asking price. Others here on the forum have helped me out in a similar way. Adam had put a few hundred rounds through the airgun to do some slug testing. He found the Zan 49gr to shoot well. I have never shot the airgun and never changed his tune. I had planned on setting it up for the AVS 61gr flat .3063 slugs, but didn’t get to it yet. The Vulcan 3 is in perfect condition. See Adam’s description of the rifle attached also.

Here is a direct link to Adam’s original add - https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/agt-vulcan-3-30-700mm.1269528/

Price is $1350 shipped CONUSA. PayPal Friends and Family. Or $1400 shipped CONUSA PayPal Goods & Services. No Trades at this time.
**Scope, mount, level, foregrip not included.

I have a new box of Zan 49gr slugs and several new boxes of AVS 3063 slugs for sale to the buyer at a nicely discount if interested.

What constitutes the higher prices for higher end rifles? I am going to try and see for myself…

You know…I’ve always been quite spoiled with higher end PCP rifles. It’s my own money of course, but all four of my past PCPs have been .25 cal FX rifles and all cost me a pretty penny. But a few days back I thought…hmmmm…you know I’ve never tried the rifles that are cheaper and yet produce the same power. So I put some money down on a Kral Arms Puncher Bighorn…it’s in .25 cal and it’s allegedly producing 60 foot pounds which means it’s pushing 34 grain JSBs to around 900 FPS just as my Maverick is tuned.

A brand new $630 PCP producing the same power as a Maverick…means I paid about $1000 less for the same performance right…? Well, we shall see. I want to be an unbiased judge for this. I have seen no discussion on the .25 cal Bighorn…only .357 cal. Will update.

Recommend Me a Compact .177 Airgun

I was looking at my collection of pistols and rifles last night.

I have a lot of pistols, both vintage and newer, in springer, SSP, CO2 and PCP and I enjoy the hell out of them probably more than bull pups/rifles. Most are in .177 with a few in .22. They scratch my pistol itch and I’m pretty good to very good with all of them. I really only keep my eyes out for used pistols that are essential to me a vintage pistol collection. I scored a S&W 79G last night in the Classifieds and before that a Walter LP Model 3 from AoA.

On the airgun side I have three .22s that really cover any and all scenarios from 20fpe up to 65fpe. A few big bores that cover from .357 up to a .72 16” Zeus.

But I only have one .177 rifle which is more on the HP side of things and runs very happily in the 18-28 fpe range.

What I am looking for is this - a mid-tier compact .177 rifle. My criteria for Compact means I’d like 25” or less before adding any additional moderation. There are two right now that meet this criteria:
- Taipan Veteran .177 Compact from Utah Air (doesn’t seem like anyone else stateside offers a .177 Vet in Compact)
- Edgun Leslie Classic .177/250mm

Some options that I have already ruled out:
- AGT Uragan / Uragan 2 Compact. I’ve owned three compacts in the past and although they are excellent airguns I’m just not feeling another one.
- FX Wildcat III - I’ve already had one in .177 and it was excellent for the first day and then it was nothing but POI shifting. I’ve also seen a good number of threads on here that FX in .177 isn’t delivering to expectations for many.
- Pistol Carbine setup - looking for a full rifle, not a conversion.

I am very open to other suggestions. Please let me know what I might be missing.

Single accidental dry fire

Hey guys just made this account to hopefully ease my anxiety. Just got a hatsan 135 vortex qe carnivore .30 cal gas piston air rifle from pyramid Been doing my test shots to make sure it's all good and shooting properly. Only spaced loading a pellet into it a single time and immediately knew I dry fired because it was loud lol did a bunch of research on the possibility of how much I could have damaged it. I'm getting a bit of a burnt smell but am not sure if that's just factory lube dieseling off and obviously my anxiety makes me think the worst. The gun is still seeming to fire properly but I didn't have it long enough to know for sure if it's deviating from any baseline. I know a single dry fire should probably be fine and I don't plan on doing it again obviously but am just curious what you guys think? Thanks a bunch for any help in advance!
