PCP Rifle  WTS Taipan Vet I .25 Compact FS/T

For Sale /Trade:
Taipan Vet I .25 Compact w/plenum extension and ARCA Rail in very good condition. I am the second owner of this gun, I purchased this from another esteemed AGN member about 2 1/2 years ago. Originally this was purchased from Talon Tunes.

I currently have the gun shooting JSB 25.39 kings at 865FPS. If I do my part, the gun will group dime size groups at 50 yards.

Included in the purchase are 3-D printed mag holders with three magazines, two unopened tins of JSB 25 grand pellets, a lifetime supply of all O-rings, a shroud extension for running a silencer of a larger diameter than the OEM shroud. Also, padded FX case.

There is a small indentation on the stock close to the trigger guard. And there is a small ding on the air fill sleeve. Other than that, in excellent condition.

Asking $1100 shipped to the lower 48. I will include basic shipping, extra insurance is your option. I normally use pirate ship, and get more savings with UPS Ground, then I do with USPS. If you give me your ZIP Code, I will compute the better rate between UPS and USPS.

Only possible trades that I am looking for at this time is the GK1 in .22, or the Krait .22 L wood stock

I would prefer to deal with a member is a contributing member of AGN. I do not buy or sell very much at all, but I have a solid reputation.

Thanks for looking and please reply with a PM, and then we can take it to either texting or some phone calls.

HW/Weihrauch  HW50 , the challenge continues

I picked up this older beater HW50 8-9 months ago. Something to get some experience on. I tried repeatedly to put a spring in it, until someone mentioned a new model spring won’t fit in an older 50. Once with the proper spring, it was a piece of cake. Bet I tried that new spring 30 times over a few weeks.
IMG_2052.jpeg

Yesterday I brought it to the range. Shot at 25 yards the Center of a 12 inch plate. Swing and a miss. Hmmm. Aim for the top of plate. Swing and a miss. Aim for the bottom. Bingo. Barrel droop. Check this out.
IMG_2053.jpeg
I have no idea of this guns history. I’m wondering if the barrel was swapped out.
I don’t think the breach fits square.
IMG_2055.jpeg
I couldn’t adjust the sights down, even the adjustment screw seams wrong. Got it closer with an Allen key.
IMG_2056.jpeg
It shoots and sounds great. But I‘m stumped.
Is there an adjustment to make breach fit better?
Bend the barrel?
Any suggestions?

Tuning  FX King/ Panthera tuning

Hi I'm new to the King so please bear with me.
I'm after tuning it but have seen two methods.
1. Turn macro to 13, micro to 2.5, then adjust reg to get your desired speed (I'm after 915ish, 25.4g pellets)
2. Turn Marco to full, micro to full, then use reg to get desired speed (915ish). Then turn macro down slowly checking speed each click until you lose velocity. Then you've got the sweet spot.
Which one do you guys use?
Go steady I'm new to this.
Thanks

Coyote 1:01

I have been on a on again off again pursuit to call a coyote to an air gun kill.
My first outing went well except I was not prepared and learned some important lessons.
1. Have your gun up and ready.
2. Yes there is such a thing as coyotes fever. Just like buck fever.
3. When you are ready to leave a call set wait for 5-10 minutes after the call sequence is done.

Today was session #2. Had a blast!! Set up in a known hot spot for coyotes on the ranch we manage. Played the wind perfect and started the call sequence. Within 30 seconds I see a mature coyote headed straight for the set up on a run. This time the gun was up and I had pre ranged several notable features so there would be no guessing yardage. I was 37 yards downwind of the call just below a small ridge. The yote never broke stride and made it all the way to the call. Literally right to the call. The minute it got a sniff it shifted gears and was gone. Not two minutes later another came in from upwind. It came over another small finger about 70 yards from me. Once again came in hot. It slowed as it approached the call, circled about 10 feet downwind of the call, caught the scent and hightailed it out of there.
Lessons learned.
1. When they are coming in that fast, pause the call or shut it off before they get too close. They know exactly where that sound was coming from. Make them slow down and look.
2. You don’t need a high magnification scope for this work. Lower power and the widest field of view is better.
3. I was convinced that I needed to be within 35 yards of the call. I think 50 yards is plenty close. I am using an M3 30 cal shooting 45 gr slugs @ 94 fpe. I believe this will kill a coyote at 75 yards and would not hesitate on a standing calm coyote at 100 yards.

This has been the most fun I have had in decades. Thrilling sport and I am learning a lot in the process. There is more to this than buying a call and blaring it over the landscape.
More to follow. I know for some these lessons are basic knowledge, but for those who have never done this, maybe I can save you some trials and tribulation by sharing?

Scope recomendations?

I'm new to the AR world, but have over 50 years in centerfire. Regarding optics, I tossed a Simmons just to get me going on my first AR. The POI shifts depending on what power you're set on, so it's got to go in the trash. Now that I'm really getting into this rifle, I'd like to get a variable power scope with an elevation turret or mildot so I can plot out my POI from 25 to 75 yards. If it were on one of my centerfire rifles, the answer would be Leupold first, nothing second. I'm not looking to spend that much if possible. Any recommendations?

Light direction and ranging accuracy

Of recent I’ve been experimenting with how the direction of sunlight affects target faceplate ranging Accuracy. This issue affects the shooter - regardless of how expensive their scope is.
What I’ve learned may seem obvious to old timers, but it’s new to me, so I thought I’d share this information, in case others are struggling with the same thing.
A quick summary is:
when the light is at your back and more directly illuminating a faceplate in front of you, wow, ranging is easy And much more accurate = extreme clarity.
BUT
Put the sunlight at a right angle to the shooter or worse directly behind the object being ranged, and ranging distance accurately can become nearly impossible.

My understanding as to why this happens is because when the sunlight is coming more directly towards your eyes, your pupils are trying to constrict and if you are trying to look through the darkness of a scope, you need or want your pupils dilated to allow maximum light in for good faceplate definition.

Some shooters deal with this via ocular eyecups which don’t work if you wear glasses and some wear huge brimmed hats and I’ve seen some people throw a big towel over their heads and scope.

I certainly can’t affect the path of the sun and its a very real frustration and it causes me a lot of missed shots.

Wondering what and how the best shooters deal with this.

Chances of getting someone to follow me around with a big umbrella is probably against the rules 🙄

How many use the Zulus for...

Just wondering if anyone in here uses the Zulus, Or a Pard for that matter (smaller day/night optic) either 3-12 or 5-20, etc etc, as a dedicated Range optic?
I'm just wondering if I should keep it on all the time. I guess I'm probably so old-school I find it kind of foreign still..
So, Those that keep it on a target/range only rifle?
Those that hunt, I get it.. I'd just keep it there as well.

The past & now!

I been into air guns for several years now. I ,m a guy that has many interest in many different hobby’s. In doing that I put one
aside and go to another for sometime, then come back. No different with this one. Bit funny I remember back then when all
the talk was about Yong Heng compressors. If a new guy ask what compressor to buy, you can bet 7 out of ten would say
YH. Now you do not hear near as many talking about YH, as was in the past. It seems as GX compressors to be the hot
one to look at today. I could be wrong, but it seems that way to me🤔🪰 Fly

Karma  Just Got A Karma Red Panda

Karma Red Panda 2025 spec .30 cal pellet version. First five shots out of the box at 50 yards after zeroing the scope with AEA 45 grain pellets. About .382 MOA I believe. Pleased so far. Trigger needs a little work. Second stage breaks okay but first stage is a little mushy.

Benjamin  Did i miss the bubble? Marauder bottle guns

Im new here! I've had a marauder .22 with the LW barrel for about a year, it has been awesome! I recently got a gauntlet sl30 it is super HEAVY. So like anyone would do, I started researching cf bottles! While dipping my toe into that pool I came across marauder bottle conversions.... I'm in love. Is there a bottle "drop block" currently available for a marauder? Or one that can be modified to fit a marauder?

The FX Wildcat MKIII BT Compact is new and improved, possessing more power and air capacity to handle slugs and heavier pellets. The build and function of this airgun made it the favorite off-hand hunting PCP for the last seven years. The increased power is thanks to the large 89cc Power Plenum found in the stock. This plenum truly caters towards slugs and heavy pellets, effectively extending the muzzle energy and therefore the range in which you can use it. (Note: if you prefer classic sized pellets, the standard Wildcat MKIII is the airgun for you.)

Dual FX AMP Regulators are what tame the massive power center and refine overall accuracy. The first regulator is found just after the carbon fiber bottle (aluminum bottle on the VP version); its purpose is to reduce the initial pressure in preparation for the second regulator, providing less stress as well as allowing the use of 300 BAR bottles. The second regulator regulates an extremely precise amount of air, which is an important factor in making each shot consistent. Combined with the FX Smooth Twist X Barrel System, shooters can be assured their rifle is at maximum accuracy.

The Wildcat MKIII BT offers extreme adjustability with the externally adjustable regulators and the rear power adjuster. Shooters can shift from higher speeds necessary to a long outdoor shot to lower power for backyard target practice. The rear power adjuster also allows for quick micro and macro adjustments to fine tune the ideal speed for the projectile you’re shooting.

Other  PUMPER COMPARISON

Did a comparison of the features on my pumpers. I ranked them on several factors and weighted each factor. Of course, this exercise is very subjective, and results would vary if I did the test again or others. Plus 2 of them had scopes but did not want the work to remove them for this test. The results were surprising. Note that you need Excel to view it, as I couldn't find a way to fit it on a PDF. Note: If you do not have Excel, you can download LibreOffice for free, and it has all the components of Microsoft Office. Excel format is in 97-2003.

A little organizing option.

I decided to get organized and put all my stuff in one box. Found a Dewalt tool box on Amazon that was tight sized, but usable. Just my own attempt at having my gear in one place and ready to go. I'm rather notorious for getting half way to where I'm going before I realized I forgot something!
