This is my first real air gun outside of a cheap gamo something or other… Felt like Christmas today because I was able to open up the gun, moderator, hand pump, compressor, and scope!

Scope- Meopta 3-18x56- I can’t believe how good this thing is out of the box! I have plenty of $2k+ scopes and I am super impressed with this thing. I specifically bought a Meopta because I don’t have any and have heard good things. Well so far, I am very happy with the results. The glass is unbelievably clear for the price range. The illumination doesn’t bleed and has very good brightness settings. The weight feels somewhat light for the size. Turrets have a good feel.

Rifle - Ghost HP - can’t say too much yet because it’s completely dark and I haven’t had time to shoot it but the fit and finish on this thing is impeccable. It’s a beautiful gun! Weight seems good. Not sure if I can dry fire?! I was afraid so I didn’t but I’m curious how the stock trigger will feel

Hand pump - Hill MK5 - quality seems to be good but haven’t used it yet.

Compressor - GX CS4i - haven’t opened the box yet lol

Moderator - DonnyFL Sumo - quality seems really nice. Can’t speak of effectiveness yet but hopefully soon!

Anyway, was just really excited so figured I’d throw a post out. Thank you to all of you who helped me make good decisions on this stuff. I feel very confident I have a decent setup to start with!

I’m just looking for some people‘s opinion on what is the best all-around air rifle scope for as first focal plane scope just looking for some opinions before I spend some money.

I have a Dar Gen 3 that started leaking after a year I started checking it out it was leaking from the oring closest to the action where the pressure gauge is I replaced the oring several times and come to find out if I didt put any kind of lube on the oring was the only way it would stop leaking this makes know sense to me? also almost every screww was loose barrel was loose in order to get it to stop leaking I had to leave air tank partial unscrewed I think the part that has pressure gauge in it was not butting up square to the tubes im sure its gonna be a problem down the roads . The original orings are very low quality

Back in the day, the Crosman Premier FT 14.3 was the rage. They are the most accurate for my R-9.I shot some yesterday; they were old and tight. I put the JSB 13.73 up against them, and it was hard to tell the difference in accuracy.
I have some other.20 pellets to try, maybe today.
I am just posting this because of the BS about finding pellets in .20.

I always found it relaxing as a kid, to shoot targets with a BB gun. 30 years later - am looking to jump back in. I expect it's going to be a great stress reliever.
Wondering what enjoyment other people get out of this hobby? Why do you do it, and what keeps you coming back to it?

From the first time I saw the RTI Mora, I was captivated by its design. Visually, it was unmatched in my eyes—futuristic, industrial, yet sleek and lethal. However, the only thing keeping me from purchasing one was its price tag. At over $2,500, I just couldn’t justify the expense for what is ultimately a hobby.

So, I decided the next best thing was to modify a Zelos to achieve a similar aesthetic. I found a great deal on a new Zelos, and that marked the beginning of my journey to modify the shroud. I started by 3D printing some threaded end caps. When I removed the shroud, I noticed a large gap between the barrel’s end and the shroud’s front, where a moderator would typically be attached. That gave me the idea to install an internal moderator and make use of that empty space.

Long story short, I replaced all the end caps with aluminum ones. The only plastic part left is the spacer at the end, which I plan to replace with a properly sized aluminum version in the future.

I missed one in the daytime. It moved as I was pulling the trigger. 2 days later (today) I put one down in the night

I have 2 Wicked air rifles for sale. They are both warps. One is in .25 cal and the other is.30cal. Both have been upgraded pretty heavily. Pretty much everything that can be has been. They both have Don’s power valve in them. Both have 700cc tanks. They shoot like the War rifles shoot. Only bad is they both need the regulators rebuilt. The regs creep. The .25 cal creep isn’t as bad as the .30 cal but both need to be rebuilt. I don’t have the time to rebuild them. Life has thrown me a couple of curve balls the last few months and I just don’t have time for them. I can’t remember the exact numbers but the .25 cal is shooting around 900 and the .30cal is in the upper 800s. They have been sitting for awhile now. Price on these guns I’m unsure of. Good morning campers.

First of all I appreciate the information that people provide on so many forums as it helps to discern alternatives and options for many things that I play with. I come from the land of PEW PEW (.22 rimfire) as some call it . I have ten acres of land and shoot almost daily now that I'm retired and without a doubt the cost to punching holes in paper has become increasingly expensive over the years. I recently started looking at some of the rifles at Champions Choice as I was stock piling more ammuntion to feed my addiction and spotted the Walther LG400. It got me wondering if a more viable option might be to shoot some pellets or mix my love of paper punching with pellets and rimfires.

With that said I was unable to find definitive answers to several questions I had and hoped I could trouble some of you for your knowledge.

As stated in the beginning I have my eye on an LG400 in .177 caliber so if that makes a difference on the following questions.

On average how many shots do you get from a single charge? I understand cylinder size and pressure play a factor.
Is there a large difference in the quality of the pellets by brand? I noticed Champions Choice sold Eley and RWS which are both well known .22 rimfire ammuntion producers.
Do these rifles hold value over time like regular guns do or does technology advance so fast they become like the last iphone you purchased?
How accurate are these rifles at say 50 and 100 yards?
I've read several articles that mention trigger weights between 8oz and 4 pounds. Most of my current rifles are on the Remington 700 platform and the triggers I use are closer to the 4 oz range, is that possible with say the LG400?
How quiet are these rifles? I have multiple suppressors for .22s that bring my rimfires down to the 108db range out of a 20" or longer barrel.

The end goal is I like making single holes at 50 yards and want groups under .5 inches at 100 yards. Are these realistic asperations with a PCP rifle?

Between the sunny shirt-sleeve temps and lighter than usual winds for TEXtreme events, eleven shooters couldn’t (realistically) have asked for nicer weather for Saturdays TEXreme Rifle Field Target match. Said lighter than usual winds played right into the match director’s hands, considering I set the highest Troyer difficulty in TEXtreme rifle course history. First priority in setting such a course is making it difficult enough that none of our super-human Field Target shooters could clean the course, yet not so difficult that humans can’t enjoy themselves. I achieved both goals beautifully in the Rifle match. Not so much, the pistol match.

Brian ‘Souper-Human’ Stafford posted a fantastic 55/60 score with his NF NX8 scoped .30 Cricket Tac shooting 56 grain Zans at 900 FPS to capture the highly-coveted 24 karat solid gold (colored) Rifle Match Winner hat pin, and $350 Airguns Of Arizona Rifle Match Winner gift certificate! By the way, if we are to believe a note on his score-card, and I’ll not advise whether we should or shouldn’t, one of Brian’s five zeroes wasn’t a miss. Rather, Brian knocked down the target he shot at; that being the wrong target. Now if we are to believe a very wise and ancient match director adage that goes something like this- “Experience is NOT the best teacher; BAD experience is a much better teacher”, I suspect Brian learned something from ‘the wrong target experience’ (that he likely won’t soon forget ). By the way, I’ll also not advise whether we should or shouldn’t believe ANYTHING aforementioned match director says. Or writes. Or keyboards. However, regardless, and by the way, y’all CAN believe this- Fantastic shooting Brian!

Considering Paul Kocurek's relative lack of much experience in Extreme Field Target, in what I consider an impressive breakthrough performance Paul posted an excellent 52/60 to capture Second Place in the Rifle match. PK used an Athlon Heras scoped .30 Cricket II Tactical, shooting 56 grain Zans at 900 FPS. For his fine efforts, he pocketed a $200 Airguns Of Arizona gift certificate. Great shooting, Paul!

JIm Clarke rounded out the Rifle podium by capturing Third Place with an excellent 47/60 score. Jim shot JTS pellets in his trusty .25 Red Wolf topped with Athlon Optics to pocket the $100 Airguns Of Arizona gift certificate. Good shooting, Jim!

In the very wise and ancient match director’s efforts to insure no super-human Pistol shooter would clean the Pistol course, in his infinite wisdom he well understood that in the likelihood of match winds strong enough to justify the 1.25X Troyer wind multiplier, no Pistolero could hope to clean the pistol course. So in setting the highest difficulty Pistol Field Target course in human history, He also understood if the winds were much stronger than usual for TEXtreme matches no human could expect to achieve even 90% success.

Which, OF COURSE, is what happened! In fact, not only was the pistol match contested in the most extreme winds in TEXtreme history, but the most extreme winds the ancient match director has enjoyed in His quarter-century of Field Target competitions. Imagine what winds like that do to the flight of tiny leaden shuttlecocks.

Suffice to say seven Pistol Extreme FT shooters no longer have to imagine it. Also suffice to say the (only) Troyer Difficulty wind multiplier of 1.25X was woefully inadequate last Saturday! For perspective, applying the woefully inadequate 1.25X wind multiplier to aforementioned highest Troyer Pistol difficulty in TEXtreme history, the wind-adjusted Troyer Difficulty in Saturdays pistol match rose well into the 60s T!

But in confirming he isn’t human, the Pistol Match Winner was Paul ‘Pablo’ Bracaglia with a 54/60 for the $250 Airguns Of Arizona gift certificate and TEXtreme Match Winner hat-pin. Pablo shot his Pablo-custom Marauder rifle-to-pistol conversion scoped with a Riton optic and shooting 15.9 grain JSBs. Unhumanly shooting, toboR!

There was a reshuffling of Pistol Second Place after the awards ceremony when it was discovered a shooter inadvertently took a couple shots from behind a shooting line, before realizing his mistake and finishing that lane from the (correct) firing line. It being a totally inadvertent, honest mistake, the infinitely wise and ancient match director chose to convert the shooter's two Xs shot from behind the line to zeros, rather than impose harsher penalties than would be the case had the rule violation been in any way conscious. The match director also assumes some responsibility for the mistake, because the firing line markers could have been more obvious. Lesson learned. That confessed, any elaboration will be done only via conversation. Homey won't play keyboard on this.

No it's not a shotgun just a springer jumping around. To combat this I have added a weight to the barrel and during my trials the gun recoils back but no jumping about, in I don't hold the rifle just cradle it... I'll post a few targets later this week.

Hi guys! I’m looking to get a rifle & pistol. I recently found out they do target shooting near me. I would like to participate in. They have 20fpe limit. So I’m thinking spring or gas piston. I will also be using rifle for small game hunting. What would be best for both? Thanks for info!

I have owned this HW 95 in .20 for a little while now and have run a couple tins of H&Ns through it. It has smoothed out nicely, cocks smooth. fires soft and quiet, very accurate too. Today I shot it over the chronograph just to see what the fps was. Out of 10 rounds (11.42gr) its average velocity is 736fps=13.74ft/lbs. How's that look to you fellas? seem right? if I recall correctly, it was a little hotter new.

I'm selling a Taipan Veteran Short / Compact in .25 caliber. This gun is in like new condition and comes with everything in the box. Two magazines, single shot tray, fill probe, metal dowels (to adjust the hammer spring tension and to remove the barrel shroud cap), and various replacement O-rings are included.

Regulator: The gun is tuned to around 42 FPE from the factory.

Barrel: This gun has a CZ unchocked barrel. I have not confirmed for myself if the barrel is indeed unchoked but this information comes directly from an email conversation with Taipan. When I bought this gun last month, Taipan has confirmed to me that all the stock that Talon Tunes had at the time were all definitely CZ unchoked barrels. Again, this is the information that I was given so please take it as it is.

The only thing I've changed so far with the gun is the hammer spring tensioner. I did returned it to stock. I mounted a scope on this rifle and shot 20 rounds on the chronograph.

Reason for sale: I actually have two of these guns. I bought the first one intending to tune it really low for close range pesting. When I received it, I loved the looks and the size so much that in a moment of lapse in judgment, I immediately ordered another one (this gun for sale) intending to keep it at a higher power tune level. However, once the dust has settled, I realize that I'm not really gaining anything by having two of the same gun, especially since the high power level of the Short is the same as the power tune of my Standard Veteran.

Please be aware that even though this gun is practically new, it does have a few minor marks from the factory. Minor marks on the receiver, the air cylinder and the barrel shroud. These are not defects. The barrel shroud and air cylinder have this matte anodizing. As such it does pick up minor marks. I wouldn't call them scratches but they do not rub off with the hands. It's just the nature of this type of anodizing.

You have to understand that Taipan Veterans have this certain "raw" feel to them like they were actually assembled by hands. Parts pickup minor marks as they go through the assembly process. If you're looking for a gun with a PERFECT finish, likely, a Taipan gun is not for you. I've had six Taipan Veterans of various sizes and calibers go through me in the past 5 years and they're all like that. Not one had perfect finish on every part. However, every one of the guns had perfect performance and reliability.

Well folks, here is another thread about .20 cal. and why I love 'em. The ones I have just plain SHOOT!

This is a Huntington Beach Beeman HW97K. I shot this 2-shot group, adjusted my POI then shot this 5-shot 1/4" c.t.c. group from exactly 25 yds. today with JSB 13.73's., sitting on a stool and resting the gun on an adjustable bipod. Not all my spring guns are as forgiving when rested on a bipod but this one doesn't seem to mind.

This gun is not "tuned". I got it at a show a little over a year ago and doubt it had ever been fired. It was full of grease, went BANG! when I tried it at home and generated 18 fpe! Cleaned it, lubed it lightly, put in a new Vortek seal and reassembled.

I'd prefer if the faster, flatter shooting H&N 11.42's shot this well but the group I fired with H&N's before these groups went into a 1/2" c.t.c 10 shot group.

This gun keeps proving to be a keeper.

Hey ya’ll newbie here to the land of PCP’s. I’ve just ordered the FX DRS Tactical 500mm in .22 and I had a few questions:

1. For those that have purchased it, how loud is it? I believe the general consensus is that due to the short barrel design it is not backyard friendly.
2. What moderators are you using that make it the quietest ? I believe that the short barrel @ 30FPE-50FPE complicates this.
3. I have narrowed my moderator selections based on YouTube and other reviews to be: STO FLAX, Weirauch XL/XLK, Edgun BEHEMOTH, Donny FL Yokozuna/Sumo. I just don’t want to spend $ constantly purchasing new moderators.

My primary usage will be backyard plinking and occasional pest control. Appreciate any general advice too.

Hi Everyone just zeroed in my gun, I had to shim my scope as it was shooting low and i ran out of adjustments. I am using cheap picatinny mounts, worth noting my scope is very average also chinese, I will get a VICT OPTICS S4 6-24X50SFP soon and it will likely come with it's own mounts. Will changing the scope and the mounts likely fix my issue with shimming? Personally i like everything to be as is without adjustment from my end.

Used a 28" TJ .30 barrel. Tensioned using 1/8" steel tubing for added weight and stack of Bellville washers between the shroud and breech.

Question to all,if you live in suburbs have a big yard ,build a re enforced shooting area do you shoot big bore ?? How bout without a moderator no complaints after a couple days are you in the clear ? It's your property rt? This is just a question not a real life situation im in .

I bought a Teslong NGT100 boroscope months ago and just got around to using it today. The head is about 5mm in diameter and easily fits into a 22 caliber or larger barrel. I have some mirror heads for it but I haven't used them yet. I often get frustrated with things like this and it happened today. The app demanded the model and it was not in any of the packaging. But eventually I got on line and figured it out. I looked at the barrels of my most accurate PCPs both of which have given me a 200 on the 30 yard challenge. I looked at my P35-22 and my Caiman X, also in 22 caliber. The first several pictures are the P35, the final few are the Caiman. The barrel on the Caiman is hammer forged, I think, and there seemed to be tiny copper flakes in the barrel. The P35 barrel seemed to have thread like lead deposits in some areas with some rectangular chunks near the crown. The Caiman had some much larger lead deposits about as deep as the rifling back near the throat. I gave both barrels at least 50 strokes with JB's bore paste on a patch. That cleaned up the P35 better than the Caiman. Too windy to see if I made a difference, I'm not expecting I did.

So I just received a new Tuxing 6.8L carbon fiber tank. Packaging was poor. Literally was in a bag to protect it from dust and was packaged in a box. Would you still use this? So far no actual cracking on the clear coat or carbon fiber. The dents are hard to spot and you'll only see them when reflecting a light on them. Seems ok but would like to know your opinion.

I bought this gun new several months ago. Dialed it in with slugs and never shot it again. The slug of choice is 62.5gr around 900fps so it’s a brute. The gun will ship in the case and boxes I received it in. Two mags, a fill probe and plenty of the slugs it likes. Probably 500+. I have no idea what the shot count is because I never hammered that many rounds in a row when I was dialing it in. But it gets plenty. Price is $1,000 via PayPal and buyer pays shipping and decides how I ship it. I can do Fedex, UPS or god forbid the Post Office.
