I guess I need to...

...Put my proverbial tail between my legs and admit that I said some not overly nice things about the American Air Arms, EVOL Mini .22. some time back.

I got one today.
The bad - NOT cheap.

Ok, now that that's said, that's all there seems to be in that column. So...the good -

1. The first thing that I noticed was the balance and how well it shoulders. Yeah, it's somewhat short, but I've had other guns similarly short that don't sit as well at the shoulder.

2. I noticed that the guys at American Air Arms have done a top notch job in the machining of the details. Had a coupla things apart for a quick look. A VERY big thumbs up to those guys for taking the time to design and to high tolerance work in their machining. I almost fell over when I removed the muffler shroud. NO...other gun that I have (more than a few..) has class 3A threads (none better). By the time that you get two or three full threads engaged, there is NO play or looseness in the mating parts.

3. This class 3A thread continues. And I'd imagine that it continues through the gun.

4. Similar to the threads, the cocking lever is also a nice snug fit, but very smooth movement within the receiver. As is the fit of the magazine. I bought a second, both slide in with the same fit. And yeah, the magazine - While I'm not a fan of the reverse installation of the first pellet, the smoothness of the parts that make up the magazine is again, top notch design and machining.

5. The pellet probe is also well stabilized with the receiver. There's a LOT of guns, that the designers/machining operations, didn't do as well.

6. While I didn't and don't really plan to take the gun any further apart, as I understand it, these guns have fewer o-rings than most high dollar (and probably cheaper too) guns, and they have fewer parts.
As a Test Engineer (before retiring), part of my required duties was to design test fixtures. Each and every part that goes into a Satellite gets "Proof Load tested" in one form or another. Yes, I've even tested nuts and bolts !
One thing that I learned very early in my carrier... It's really easy to design expensive, complicated parts to do a particular job. It's much more difficult to design things...cheap and simple...to do the SAME task, as the expensive, complicated thing.
The American Air Arms guys have done the, well, not so cheap..(!), but very simple, very nicely done design work. A thumbs up the these guys (and girls ?).

Grip changed to suit, fore end hand support added, and looking at a different stock. Don't care for THAT decision ! Loose and sloppy. There's a nice wood one that's made for the AR configuration that I may try. My ACOG sight came off of my Impact, M3 and onto the EVOL Mini. The muffler is a little loud. I may attempt to play with that a little.
I've only put one magazine through it as I don't have any air right now. So pellet culling, and me getting used to the gun, the trigger and all will have to wait a coupla days.

A friend reminded me..."you can't take it (money !) with you". So, I bought one of these EVOL Mini's, so far, glad I did.

Reg difference at different bottle pressure. Anyone experience it?

Anyone experience this. Say you set your reg pressure to 140 bar. When the bottle pressure is fill to 250 bar, the reg pressure will be 145 bar. Shoot a couple shot, bottle pressure now at 230-240 bar, reg pressure will be about 143 bar. When bottle pressure gets to 200 bar, reg pressure will be about 140 bar. And keep shooting, bottle pressure now 150 bar, reg pressure will be like 137 bar. I thought the point of the reg is to keep pressure behind the valve to the set pressure until bottle pressure falls below reg pressure. So shouldnt the reg pressure be 140 bar, even when bottle is 250 down to 140 bar?

Daystate vs FX in 177, Anyone???

Just checking to see if there would be any interest in a comparison between a FX M3 in 177 vs a Delta Wolf in 177? I already own the FX but just purchased a Delta Wolf from AOA a few days ago. I haven't received yet but pretty excited to see what the fuss is all about. I've never owned a Daystate b4 so this is my first. I could do some 30yrd/ 50yrd and 75yrd groups (backyard range) with each and see how they stack up. The FX has the 600mm and the Delta has a 580ish mm barrel so will be close to each other. Can also do some slug testing and just some overall thoughts of how they compare and function. Hopefully will have the gun sometime beginning next week. If there's something anyone would like to see let me know. I'll post some pics as soon as it comes in!!!

The wonders of God's creations

I was walking back home from picking up my niece this afternoon and saw a differently colored groundhog. It was sighted in E. Central Missouri about an hour west of St. Louis. It was a grey with a black tail. It wasn't an old groundhog, looked like this springs litter size wise. I'm constantly amazed at the diversity of creation. All you have to do is slow down and open your eyes. Sorry no picture, didn't have my phone.

NLA Edgun Leshiy 2 350mm .25 Cal - Lots of Extras

Hi there,

I have bought and sold a lot of guns on here, but my new passion of guitar is proving to be a time and money suck, so I am unburdening (my wife’s term) myself of some of my old hobby equipment for the room and the cash.

So, I am selling a sweet package deal for anyone that is interested. I have not been watching values closely but I can say that you couldn’t replace it for the amount I am asking, and thats not including a lot of the “parts” that I am including as I will not need them.

Edgun Leshiy (non REPR version) .25 Caliber
Standard Moderator Included.
Original Box, all parts, manuals, etc
350 mm carbon wrapped barrel.
MOD40 with 5 Segments - Ordered direct from Edgun West
Shorokh Moderator that the previous owner bought, but its worse than the stock one.
Valkyrie Aluminum Hand Guard

ATN X-Sight 4k Pro 5-20x
Quick Release single piece scope rings.
ATN ABL 1000 Laser Range Finder - Integrated to Scope for Auto Adjust of POI
ATN Remote Control for Scope (Handier than you think)

GX CS3 PCP Air Compressor with 12 Volt Power Supply

ATG Short Rifle Bag. - Velcro holds the Leshiy in Perfectly

I am sure I am forgetting something but just hit me up for info on anything you want. I honestly didn’t shoot this much at all, talking like 50-100 pellets. It was great, but once I got the Impact M3, I preferred it. I am FIRM on my price of 2500 PLUS SHIPPING for all of it, and not interested in separating it at this point. Maybe if I don’t sell it I will reconsider.

No trades and I dont need help selling it.

Please use text as I don’t check on here very often. Seven Zero Four - 236 - 6953. My name is James and I am in Charlotte NC in case you want to check on shipping.

Vevor (Yong Heng) Questions

Hey guys, yet another topic about this compressor. Sorry. But there is so much info about this that I'm not sure where to begin.

I ordered a Vevor PCP compressor. In europe it comes with a competitive price direct from theyr website. We do not have the same options you guys have in NA. (it was 220€ when I bought it and it was fost delivery)
Anyway, I saw some videos and topics about this compressors and I've used it a couple of times now. The oil I'm using was bought from amazon and is "Triax Kompressor MV ISO 46", the link is this:
https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B09615ZYBQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1

This is my main doubt. The oil. The first minutes of use It fumed a lot so I took it out and refilled it. That makes sense. The thing is, it keeps on fuming after some minutes of use. I take all the precautions, with proper water circulation, not starting with preasure, I have a big humidity filter, etc.
Should I use another oil?
The compressor is working fine and fills really quick my gun (480cc) and my carbon bottle (3liters). I don't let it run for more then 10 minutes in a row. But as soon as it passes the 200bar (3000Psi) is changes the sound is makes and it fumes a bit. Should I be worried?
I'm not a heavy user, but I would like to fill my 3L bottle to 280-300bar (4200-4500Psi) without problem.
