Just looked at the "leaderboard" and it is apparent that there are really only a few people keeping AGN alive. (joking)

Well, maybe that is too much hyperbole, but if I can only post a few messages once or twice a week and be ON the leaderboard, that should tell you all you need to know. LOL!

Anyway, not a big deal... just something I have noticed since AGN updated and made such information available.

What you take from that is up to you. (grin)

p.s.

Thanks to Michael, et al. for the upgrade to AGN! It was sorely needed and greatly appreciated! Now, GTA ain't got nothing on AGN! (smile)

Silicone oil - best price per ounce?

Because of the silicone oil that came with the 3 Nova Vista Freedoms I still own, there is still about 1 and 1/2 bottles left.

However, and I have asked this question either here or on GTA before I was banned there...

Given that the small vessels of silicone oil are outrageously priced, where can one purchase silicone oil suitable for airguns (especially PCP) in bulk for a MUCH lower price per ounce?

What I am thinking is that several people might be able to go in together and buy a gallon or more and split the oil and cost. That HAS to be cheaper than buying .5 or 1 ounce for the prices you have to pay for those small amounts.

I simply hate to be ripped off and that is what they are doing with those tiny amounts of silicone oil.

Just a thought. (smile)

Mod edit: inappropriate content removed

Maybe not worth the money and effort

I'm still spending time researching and learning about these airguns I have. After considerable time spent researching refurbing, modding, and improving the 1377, I'm having second thoughts. I first looked into putting a red dot on it. I found that is going to be kind of costly. Then, I thought I'd just change the sights. I found a nice front site for a reasonable amount, but so far every rear sight worth a darned is proving to cost about half what a brand new 1377 costs. I'm not sure if I'm just looking in the wrong place, but any replacement grips and/or pump handle I found would cost more than half of a new 1377,,,,, or some other gun.

So, unless somebody can point me to parts and pieces that cost a lot less than what I'm finding, I'm going to resign the 1377 to casual plinking in the garage as it is. It seems to be holding air just fine so maybe there is no need to worry about the seals and O-rings. I'll just kill some paper in the garage and have a little fun with it.

Now, I'll turn my attention to the Mod 25. I haven't shot it yet. I'm going to clean it up thoroughly prior to running any pellets through it. Since I've gone to the trouble and expense of getting chamber oil and Pellgunoil I'll wait till they get here to do the cleanup.

If any of you guys with a Mod 25 know of any worthwhile additions for the gun, holler.

Iguana: Minimum Acceptable Caliber, FPE & Kill Zone

Airgun Depot outlined the minimum acceptable caliber, FPE & kill zones for various game nearly 8 years ago, but it doesn't include iguanas.
It would seem obvious that minimums increase with the size of the iguana and that shot placement is key.

My opinion is that a .22 would be the minimum for an average shooter to reliably dispatch an iguana.
I'm curious as to what some of the experienced iguana hunters would estimate the kill zones & minimum FPE would be.

SOLD Flashpup, Urban, scuba tank, spark compressor

My whole setup.
$1200 negotiable.
Located in Granite Falls NC, not interested in shipping.
Cash is preferred.
Hatsan flashpup .22 with donnyfl tanto moderator and 4-12x44 FFP center point scope. Have original hatsan QE shroud.
Gamo Urban .22 with 3-9x40 mildot UTG scope.
Steel scuba tank with foster fitting fill whip.
Hatsan spark (Chinese) compressor, modified with an inlet filter with desiccant and paint gun style filter. Also has a big outlet filter with more desiccant.
Hand pump.
Flashpup has removable wireless digital night vision with IR light. I tinker; it is a 5.8ghz video transmitter and an IR sensitive Foxeer camera in a 3D printed quick release housing. It pushes in and twists to lock, easy to remove. The viewing is a tiny near eye display that clips onto eye glasses and receives the signal.
There is also a similar IR night vision setup for the Urban, but it has a small screen right on the scope.
A tin or two of JSB jumbo heavy .22
A few boxes of Nielsen specialty ammo slugs .22. I have the flashpup on the NSA slugs.

SOLD Moving Sale - PCP's and tank

My move is starting and at the new house I won't be able to shoot in the yard. My plans are to just keep my TalonP to hunt with. I really don't want to move the stuff as the house is quite a bit smaller (but on the waterfront) and not a lot of storage.

I'd like to sell this stuff local if possible to avoid hazards of shipping. If you need item shipped please message me with your zipcode and I will figure the added cost.
Items will be considered sold when I receive the $$. Please clear all purchases with your significant other prior to making commitment.

1) FX Thor in .177. Tuned right under 20fpe. I picked this up from John in PA who had resealed the gun. Shoots most pellets good. It shoots the JSB from 8.44-13.4 great. Holds air perfectly. Comes with 2 mags, fill probe and some spare orings and such that John gave me. In great condition. It does have a spot under the breech where someone apparently stripped a bolt and then did some cosmetic damage to the tube getting the bolt out. John never mentioned this to me, and it doesn't affect the performance of the gun at all and can't be scene unless gun is disassembled. Just mentioning as I don't want anyone to be surprised if the open it up like I did. Scope shown not included in price
$450 (SPF)

2)Logun (FX) Solo in .177 - Best pellet is the Crosman heavy in the box. Also shooting most JSB's just as good. Shooting just over 20fpe right now. The original shroud was taken off. I still have it, but it really did nothing for the gun. I designed and had printed the moderator shown in 3D parts. The tube is Carbon Fiber. No longer have the scope shown in pic so it's not included in price.
$400 (SPF)

4) Drager 45 min tank. Purchased as new old stock. Manu 6/19. I filled it a single time to be sure it held air and it's been sitting back in it's box since, still at the same pressure.
$400 (SPF)

5)Riton X1 Conquer 6-24x50 - like new in box. Used it in the yard sighting guns in but that's it. Comes with box and all the paperwork. Even have a shade that came from my junk drawer that fits it. Got a couple marks on that, but just throwing it in if someone wants it. (It's the scope shown on the FX Thor above)
$150 SOLD

6) Huggett Bellita for .177/.22 - nice compact moderator with great sound reduction - $115 SOLD

If I get rid of the about stuff I will also be selling my 2011 tank and Shoebox with hotdog compressor.

I also have a workbench full of random parts, pellets, rings, bases, scopes, smaller tanks, barrels, etc.

I have more pics, just didn't want to clutter up the ad too much. If you're interested in something and need pics feel free to ask.

If I don't sell the stuff local by the time it comes to move it I will ship.

Only accepting CASH, Money Order, Paypal F&F and Venmo.

Hatsan 95 (.25) Spring (New Purchase)

Hatsan 95 (.25 cal) Spring Version

I want to preface this post with the fact that I am not new to AGN or air rifles, my old account was hacked and I am starting fresh lol. Also no offense to anyone who dives deeply into these but I’ve been in the community a while now and I do not care to own $5000 worth of Airgun equipment or rifles or shoot slugs. I just like traditional good ole affordable shooting.

Reason for purchase:
Over the years I have had several break barrels and pcp rifles all of which did me well for the most part. I have actually never owned a springer though all my previous guns were gas pistons. I had a lot of issues with consistency with these and strayed away from airguns over the last year or so all together. I really enjoy shooting self contained guns like break barrels so I decided I wanted to give it another shot but this time I would be getting a spring gun.

Why the Hatsan 95?
I chose this rifle because I initially was going to grab a Hammerli underlever from Krale however I wanted to stray from the Chinese stuff as much as possible. I know the Hatsan 95 has a good following and decided on .25 because I wanted a good plinker that could buck wind and take out massive Fox squirrels I have on the farm.

Initial impressions:
I love the way this thing looks and feels and for the $160 I paid (Amazon) I’m really impressed. My dad owns a Walther Terrus in 177 that has been tuned by Mike M. and although it’s not as smooth it has a premium look to it which I can appreciate. I haven’t done any chrono testing yet and I’m only using open sights currently as I want to push those boundaries a little more and see what I can accomplish. So far it’s loving the H&N FTT so I’ll be curious to see how it likes some others. I am NOT going to use JSB in this rifle just bc they are becoming to expensive and I like the availability of the H&N. (I still shoot the 15.89 JSB out of my Maximus) I have been able to shoot this out to 20 yards with open sights fairly well so I have high hopes I will be able to get this dialed in and be able to do some hunting at my normal range of 20-30 yards with some practice.

I mainly posted this bc there is very little info on the Hatsan 95 spring version at least in 25 caliber. So if anyone reads this and is wondering how they are, I can say so far I much prefer the spring twang to the gas piston thud anyday. I will update once the gun is broken in and I have some good data for all the geeks ;)

Embracing Technology

The internal air stripper of the Daystate Delta Wolf / Alpha Wolf does a fantastic job of diverting air (and lead dust) back into the shroud. Unfortunately the lead dust can also hinder the chronographs ability to read the velocity.

Shown here is a cleaning kit for the integrated chronograph of the Daystate Delta/Alpha Wolf.

Street cred

Joined yesterday. Been using this site as research info for a few years. Guidelines say I have to build some street cred by posting or joining some discussion before I do much. So just an intro... Been using PCP for about 5 years, I find the airgun ballistics very interesting and if I ever had any questions I would usually find answers in one of these threads. So thank you to those of you who have helped over the years without knowing it.

SOLD PP750

This pp750 is functions perfectly with some minor blemishes. It has been tuned: trigger contact points polished, hammer polished, changed hammer spring. Now the cocking is butter smooth and the trigger is lighter. I have added custom walnut grips, power plenum, Donny fl adapter. Also included is the much improved Darko magazine and swing open single shot tray.

This pistol can be tuned for 6 fpe target shooter or a 25 fpe hunter. Quarter inch groups at 25 yds all day

With the extras and tuning I have over $500 into this pistol. I’ll let it go for $350 shipped

Going to 72 pp from mk2 54 pp. Is it worth it?

I am shooting slug so want more power, so decided to get the new 72 pp with the power block. It was $220, not including tax and shipping. B4 upgrading, I tested my gun and it was shooting maximum about 960 fps with 36gr nsa slug. I can turn hammer up but fps won't go any higher. Power wheel is on 4, reg 150 bar, valve fully open, 600mm slug liner A.
After installed the power block and 72 pp, without touching reg and power wheel, I tested with same setting and got like 900 fps. I was like wtf why would my speed drop just by changing the plenum. Then I though maybe bigger plenum of 150 bar is too much for the hammer. So I turn to 5, it was shooting 980 fps. Then I turn wheel to max and it is 985 fps. So I guess upgrading from mk2 pp to 72 pp and power block grain 25 is fps. Not sure if that was worth $220 lol. Just letting other know what you expect for those thinking about upgrading. I was expecting like over 50-100 fps more cause its the power block youtubers been talking about plus larger 72cc pp. Guess I expected too much lol.
