Well I am doing something I thought I would never do. Selling my *one of kind* custom .177 HW 98 the last of my springers and then my conversion to the “Dark Side” will be complete lol! This truly is a one of a kind rifle on a great 98 platform (non threaded barrel) that are very hard to get these days. The rifle has the following features:

Ambi -Walnut hand carved stock by Mike Abernathy with 6 panel fish scale. Has a German 1967 coin (year I was born) in the grip. Inlaid brass screw cups and black chrome allen head fore end screws.

Vortek PGP2 Tune kit installed. Shoots 12 to 13 fpe

Athlon Talos 4x12x40 mildot scope and single piece mount which is the perfect scope of this rifle.

I’ve never been one to biatch about going ons in the classifieds except tor the scammers, like most of us do.

I’ve never sided on sellers price vs buyers idea of a fair price, cause typically the few things I’ve bought thru the classifieds I have given what the seller was asking. I’m not a tire kicker, nor do I waste a sellers time trying to low ball him, and I have never ever bullied a seller into selling me something (I personally know of folks that have done this)

So today I tried helping a fellow member score on NV equipment, and dealt with a seller on numerous PM’s which led to personal texts. I asked for pics, he provided them. Meanwhile, I’m passing all this onto another member just being me, and assisting with the sale. Eventually I had gotten the two communicating by giving the buyer the sellers name(even linked the sellers ad to him) and contacted the seller and told him about the buyer.

I originally was looking at this item for myself, but caught myself and decided I didn’t need it, so I passed it on to the other member who I thought may be interested. So with all that said, that means between me and the seller, there was a lot of communications going on, back n forth.

Today the seller informs me he sold it to a guy who was ahead of me in inquiring about it. No where in all our communications was I told that I “was in line” for the item. I was led to feel like I was the first and only person even inquiring about it, as it was originally a gun sale that the seller decided to part all the add ons to the gun.

Sure enough, I check the sellers post count and it’s low at 38. So, my advice to all the newbie’s joining this great forum for the main purpose of benefiting from the classifieds, please show some courtesy and tell folks up front that there are other buyers ahead of you, so as not to waste time.

What’s even more messed up is when I told the guy if I would’ve known I would’ve just bought it out right like right now, and he tells me he wouldn’t have sold it to me anyway because of the previous inquirer of the product.

I have no problem with the “first come first serve”, just let the buyer know up front there are others that you promised the item to, instead of leading a person on and wasting his time.

Not including the scammer rants, this is my first true complaint about the classifieds, to just show some etiquette

I have a used Walther LGV synthetic in .177 for sale. Gun shoots amazingly well and is very accurate. It has a Hatsan air stripper installed. This gun is no safe queen. Please look closely at the pictures. The stock has been sanded in places by the previous owner to remove sharp edges. I can’t say it enough. This gun shoots amazing. Original sights are not included. I don’t have them. I just bought a TX200 in .22 and it suits my needs better. I’m looking to trade this gem for a .22 pcp of equal value. With this gun, value is subjective. If you want to buy it, make me a fair offer.

As asked I would like to know from those in the know which scope is the very best at ranging with the ao. I’m currently using a athlon gen 2 6-24x50 ffp moa which I like very much except for the ao seems to be slightly sloppy or it’s my old eyes don’t know which. I’m thinking of trying something else but don’t know which way to go

This is my R7/HW30. It just got all dressed up in a custom LEFT HAND stock from Steve Corcoran Stocks and Grips. This is his first Lefty. He is now offering a custom left hand stock for the HW30/R7. Boy what difference it makes. Now my favorite gun is wearing my favorite stock! Thank you, Steve.

Does anyone know if you can put a VP bottle Valve in a carbon bottle? I got a Crown with the metal bottle and I have a 700cc carbon bottle to replace it with but I need a valve. Can I take the valve out of the metal bottle and put it in the carbon one?

I know there were a few threads either about or where discussion arose about the USO TS-12x and how it is the same scope as the vector veyron 3-12 counterpart and a couple others possible? (cant really remember).

Yesterday my USO TS-12X arrived, mounted and zero'd it and shot with it......

Built in the same factory? Possibly and probably, however they are not the same level. The glass is far clearer and I mean far clearer, the reticle is fine but stands out more, and the turrets are 100x better and I believe that warrants the cost difference.

The other big difference is the eye relief is better suited for a rifle with this cheek positioning, I needed it to be further away and it is!

The veyron was a great scope especially for the money, but I can confirm these two ARE NOT the same.

Torn between decision between HW97K and R9, both would be .177 for Field Target shooting. Price not so different as to be an issue. Then there is the HW77K which I honestly don't know that much about. Opinions and recommendations welcome.
