Have the courage of your convictions .

So why Is It most people wont mention the supplier when they have a problem with there purchase ????...IE I received my gun a few days a go and It wont hold air or the mag docent cycle properly and hangs up , or the trigger seized up and wont shoot . So I emailed the store I bought It from but no reply or I called the store I bought It from but they are giving me the run around and want me to pay shipping even though Its still under warranty and they want me to pay 25% restocking fee If I return the gun for a refund ect ect , I think you guys get the gist . So guys please If you have a real problem with a supplier SHOUT out the stores name I think people have a right to know who Is good and who Is bad so we can make an Informed decision on weather to buy from that particular store , after all we pay a lot of money for this hobby we deserve to be treated right .

Just sayin .

Taipan .177 from hell strikes yet again!

I purchased the HUMA regulator from Tony at TalonTunes set at 100 bar. When I installed the regulator and tried to fill the Taipan with it cocked, it would not fill past ~95 bar. I thought I was having trouble with my compressor at first but when I disconnected the compressor, the rifle lost what little pressure it had in it quickly. There were no instructions with the regulator and I couldn't find any online. Is there some trick to this install? I watched the only video I could find and did exactly what he did, I thought. I noticed when I put the HUMA reg in that it slid in easier than the Taipan reg. I'm at a loss once again. If you have experience with this same situation, please share it. Thanks.

Moderator maintenance

Should moderators be disassembled and cleaned occasoinally?

Several months ago I purchased a Prophet Performance and a 0db moderator. I have cleaned the barrel a couple of times with a pull through, but currently have a little over 5000 rounds shot through it so removed the barrel for a good cleaning. I was kind of surprised at the amount of fine powdered lead coating the outside of the barrel.
I assume that there is at least as much of this powder in the moderator too.

I looked on 0db web site and find nothing about maintenance.
Any info would be appreciated.

Air Arms S400 keyholing

Hi guys,

I gave my reliable S400 to my neighbor. He brought it back saying it wasn't hitting the target. I thought it needed air since it was low. I filled it up and it was hitting all over the place. I mean crazy. I thought it was the cheap scope and put a trusty Leupold on and it was still having issues. The last target (see below) showed that it's keyholing.

I looked down the muzzle, and I could be wrong, but the centerline of the bore looks like it is out of alignment compared to the baffle or whatever you call the end of the barrel on the Air Arms. It looks like the bullet would hit the baffle. But, I can't see any marks showing bullet strike. My question is if this is possible with the air arms barrel? Can it get out of alignment with the baffle if it was dropped or took a hit?

Thanks,
Dave

Air Arms S400.jpeg

Is it possible?

I'm not new to air rifles but new to my 1st PCP, an Air Venturi Avenger .22cal shooting JSB 18.13 domed.

I've been struggling with my groupings for months. Many YouTube videos have indicated that the optimal sped for these pellets is anywhere between 860fps and 920fps - so that's what I've been tuning for.

I've been using a cheap Chinola chronograph pictured below. Yesterday while tuning, yet again, I clocked the pellets at 820-830 fps and all of a sudden, I was finally getting bullseye after bullseye. Mind you, I have only 21 yards to play with in my backyard.

What do you think? Can this chrono be that far off or is it possible my AVA shoots these pellets better at a lower velocity?

As an aside: Is there a calculator out there that can determine fpe downrange vs out of the muzzle?

(New taipan content)The Stable is forever changing for the better

So I upgraded my impact .177 to this 6 year old Taipan Veteran Compact built by @mtnghost_gunner some time back.

I'm going to turn thid Instagram into the most boring airgun ig page there is because in the end I'm only going to have taipans.

I put the huggett atom and br-4 g2 bipod on it from the other one because I have those two items on the way anyways.

Anyways

I'm going to do the same picatinny mount as this one is just screwed in and I feel I can def do better. Also has a scuff on the stock where your forearm would run alone on the bottom so I will likely wrap it with some black self adhesive tape for better grip anyways , and yup, I will be installing a digital manometer.

I got two compact .22 taipans now, one low power and this one that when I got it was cranked shooting 18.13 at 996 fps.... I'll leave it at that... it's a beast

Flying Jerk

I woke up about 4 this morning and couldn't shut my brain off. Went out to lay on the couch and watch some mind numbing YT. There's something scratching around inside the window a/c mounted in the wall. Birds, mice? Bang on it a few time, heard some birds chirp then silence. Lay back down, more scratching. So I just turned it on to flush it out or scare it away. It spits out a flying jerk into my living room. The room was illuminated by the television only, I can't tell if its a bird or a bat, Please be a bird. Armed with one of my house shoes I made my way to the front door to leave it open. It's dive bombing me and isn't concerned with the giant opening that I have created for it that leads to wide open spaces. I ventured back across the room to a lamp, turn it on and Oh GOOD! It's a bat. It's flying around in circles dive bombing both my dog and I, most likely trying to eat our faces. In hindsight there may have been a better option but I grabbed the Beeman 1358 turned on the red dot and went to work. It would land on the wall for a split second before dismounting off dropping down and to the right. I backed down the hallway a bit so I wasn't directly in its flight path and waited for my opportunity. First shot it ducked, second shot goes through the metal, I don't see where it went and it's not flying around anymore. Wonderful... Waiting for it to come out of no where and fly at my face again. Dogs freaking out because he doesn't like guns, I'm shooting in the house and randomly screaming every once in a while. Not to mention the jerk trying to eat his face. Found him twitching on the hearth directly below my second shot.

You can see the first shot in the cement board above and to the left of the hole in the metal. Well I'm awake now.

The front door has been wide open this entire time. Should probably do a head count real quick. Couple mornings ago started at 3:30am with a farm kitten somewhere in the house. It took 9 hrs and a lil help from my dads childhood Red Ryder to find and get this frantic kitten captured and back to his momma. It had somehow managed to find it's way under the steel bathtub in the trailer house part of the house. We had built an addition on to the trailer house. I couldn't coax the thing out with food so I punched a hole in the back wall just big enough for the barrel of the Ryder to shoot through. Stuck the barrel in the hole and blind fired a few shots. Went back around to the other side where I could see under the tub. Cat was gone and had managed to find a crack in my defenses I constructed around the Jacuzzi tub in my bedroom. I'm allergic mind you and coming to be at my wits end with this critter. Hours had gone by and I'm starting to reconsider my options. Stab it with a arrow/broadhead? Treble hook snag? Beeman...... There was a lose board under the tub, I was able to pin the cat down with it and drag him out to where I could pick it up without getting scratched/bitten.

Did my time to eat cat food whistle to get every body on deck for a head count and guess who's missing. Same lil troublemaker. I heard some growling under the stairs, he was down there eating the bat. :) Thank goodness!

That'll be enough early morning indoor critter hunting for a while now. I should probably check to make sure neither of those shots made it through the wall and into the triple wall stove pipe.

Impact M3 1st reg delete ?

Has anyone installed this on their FX impact. I am curious if it used in conjunction with the huma 2nd stage reg could a 300 bar tank could be used.

Also if used is there a more consistent airflow and shot count increase when using slugs.

Brocock Sniper XR

I just received my Brocock Sniper XR in . 22 and it's got tons of potential. Running 30 FPE, shooting 18.1 AA pellets at 864fps. So accurate that shooting at 25 yds isn't even fun. I zeroed it at 40 yards and am amazed how accurate it is. Three things I'd change. #1 Love the quick disconnect, but it's buried in the stock so deep you need to use their supplied fill fitting. Kudos to Brocock for including it! I'm hesitant to "fix" something that isn't broken, or change something that works fine right now, for use on one gun. Leaks happen when things get changed, and my current fill whip is 100% reliable and leak free. #2 The trigger is only adjustable so much, and at it's still a little heavy for a target rifle, in my opinion. Hoping it breaks in as time passes. #3 The cost of the magazines. $110 USD each. Unbelievable. Now yes, if you buy a Ferrari, an oil filter isn't going to cost the same as a Corolla. But I've never seen a mfr get $110 for a little itty bitty CNC machined magazine before on any of my air guns or powder burners. That is WAAAY overpriced.
