HW/Weihrauch HW30 50 yd Bench

I don’t know any other Springer shooters and in particular any HW30 shooters other than on forums. I would like comments from any HW30/R7 owners that shoot 50 yard bench. I think my HW30 is more accurate than I am, I’ve had this, my only air rifle, less than a year. Still learning proper hold. Please tell me if these are decent groups at 50 yards out of a HW30. AIRMAX 4-12x50. All with AA Diabolo Field 8.4. Zeroed at 25 yds. 3 mildot holdover. Always 5 shot groups, 1” CTC average. Thanks for any comments. I’d like to thank MyCapt65 for a chat about my gun. It was very much appreciated.

I think those are excellent groups for 50 yards. I shoot mine at 50 all the time and that's about the best that I can do, sometimes worse. My 22 cal requires a 5 mil holdover, I'm in the first box on the air max reticle.

You can also bend the tab that the trigger screw goes through. They bend it at the factory (German locktite) but not as much on the 30 as the 50. When I'm tuning one I always straighten the tab so the screw is easily adjusted but I bend it back when I'm done.
That's what I did more or less. I peened the side of it with a punch to squeeze a bit.

This is not my statement, it is fact.

Its only a fact to you. I disagree with your statement. How do you know what the intended purpose of the design? We're you in the room when originally designed it? Even if you were correct, it doesn't preclude anyone from joyfully repurposing a design.

I have routinely shot my 22LR out to 320 yards and my 223s and 6.5 CM out to 625 yards off my back deck. So I can mop the floor with anything I want. I still enjoy my toothbrushes out to 93 yards off front porch. Telling people what they should like is narrow minded. It's telling people how to think and that should draw flak.

Believe what you want but let others enjoy what they will.

Have a Merry Christmas
Ron
Well put. A Shooter like Levgen may only shoot targets at 30 feet while others wouldn’t shoot that little Springer ever at 30 feet unless it was for pest control.

Back in NY I had a 30' range in my basement shop. It was great for tune testing and passing time during the winter duldrums. In fact most of shooting was done there since getting to a real range was almost an hour away. Shooting that close was so easy it gave me a false confidence. Plus it becomes boring for me after a while. IMO almost all scoped and benched 30' 5 shot groups should be one ragged hole. I had one ten shot group with my peep sighted 30 that was one round hole that was small enough it would still hold a pellet. Made me feel like a hero until my next trip to a real outdoor range.

We’re on the same page Ron. But still 10 hole on hole is great. I bet when you got to number 10 you were one with the gun, total focus 😂

Nope at ten I was scared to death I'd choke and screw it up 🤣. Luckily I didn't. If you shoot enough you'll eventually luck into the equivalent of a hole in one. That's why I never post pictures or put value on a picture of one group.

I used to spend alot of time at ranges and myself included most people start shooting three shot groups with centerfire. After shooting three shot groups, five shot groups is humbling. Three shows what the gun can do. Five shows what shooter can do. Rimfire and airgunners usually start with five and sometimes go to ten for the same reasons. Airguns have so many variables I think 5 shots is a representation of gun and shooter when you have a page of them.
