Considering the 2 small ports on the inside of an FX barrel i doubt they would even know what they are looking at. Im getting my toy when i got the funds and playing on my propertyDepends on New Jersey’s “interpretation” of the law.
But to me, a suppressor is a suppressor. And a shrouded barrel is just a shrouded barrel.
The one circled has a shrouded barrel with a suppressor. View attachment 521568
It would be childs play for a prosecutor to show a jury the higher db reading with the shroud removed vs installed. There is a big difference in sound levels on all of my FX rifles with the shroud removed. Im not trying to tell you how to live your life, but if the law is no sound reduction that means no shrouds. Not really a gray area up for interpretation. Everything I can find says no shrouds, I mean we are talking about a state that considers Airsoft a firearm. I dont even know if you can legally shoot an airgun on your private property if you are within city limits.Considering the 2 small ports on the inside of an FX barrel i doubt they would even know what they are looking at. Im in the country and hunt my backyard for deer so im not worried about that. As for those ports i was going to check with the masses on getting them welded closed. I could care less about the noise reduction. As long as the accuracy is there im happy. From my entire internet search there isnt many options available to me here apparently. In NJ its all about being creative. I had to have a smokeless muzzleloader built but use bh209 because smokeless powder is not legal to use hunting. 400fps difference and not i clover at 200yrds (all i have access to). Holes plugged. No noise dampening problem solved. It would be childs play for a prosecutor to show a jury the higher db reading with the shroud removed vs installed. I fell in love with the bullpup styles but have to say the DRS classic in 600mm does check all the boxes for me and since its a straight barrel with no dampening integrated it looks 100% legal here in NJ. Looks like a squirrel killin machine.Buy a good rifle.
Look for a rifle that can handle a rabbit and a coyote.
Go for a .25 Cal that can shot at 60 fpe.
FX DRS is the best option for the money (1,100 usd), and then next jump is a Vulcan 3 700 mm that is 1,500 usd.
Both will be powerful enough and more accurate than yourself.
Vulcan 3 can give you 70 shots per fill and DRS 30 shots per fill.

Concur....I've got a small $#!t-ton of airguns. Thinking about picking up a Scout for myself for Xmas. I'd definitely consider them, when you 'pull the trigger'....I would watch Pyramid Air for end of the year sales and pick up a Stoeger XMI Scout or Bullshark in 22Cal. They have been reported to be super accurate with decent power and build quality especially for the price. PA had them for $280 free shipping not long ago. 5 year warranty as well which is much higher than industry standard. For air you can check out the GX series compressors, specifically the CS3 or CS4. Should last you at least a few years or longer with maintenance. Amazon has sales on them from time to time.
ETA: Not sure you can even own a shrouded air gun in NJ. Seems you guys have some very strict laws.

Ya i have plenty around just none that deal in airguns. Ill have to definitely do a transfer.Yeah I would try to get a DRS. Do you have a local FFL or something that can order you one through an online retailer? That might give you some protection and assurance. The Uragan Vulancs are certainly not going to be legal either, they have awesome shrouds.

I have this model in .22 the power is unbelievable. Low shot count if you're using heavier slugs or pellets. I get a couple mags shooting 19-21gr slugs at 1040-1100fps.. but it's got the nuts to launch heavy slugs at speed too. Very accurate. I love it. The pellet shop has them In synthetic I'm sure. Finding a wood one in stock will be a challenge. The walnut is beautiful. But, fantastic gun. Once you learn the idiosyncrasies of FX guns and the tuning system.. you'll probably love them. Figure one out... You've got the keys to them all (except impact with the valve return spring adjuster added in).Stellar deal but sold out in .22. Besides more air is there a down side? I mean that would easily handle coon and fox.The pellet shop has them In synthetic I'm sure. Finding a wood one in stock will be a challenge. TPS is a great supplier, my personal preference for guns
Keep in mind the 700 comes with a slug liner. That will narrow down your ability to use lighter pellets, in mine. 25.39 are good but 34gr pellets are best.
Didn't know whether you wanted to shoot slugs or pellets.. just letting you know that the barrel liner the 700 comes with, at least in mine. Over stabilizes 15.9 and 18gr pellets to the point of semi keyholing close in and spiraling further out. The only down side is the sound shooting heavy projectiles at high power makes on an unmoderated gun might draw unwanted attention.Besides more air is there a down side? I mean that would easily handle coon and fox.
Please if that came off wrong in any way i apologize. Considering what i plan on killing i see some mighty fine pellets out there in .22. Slug idea is cool but i dont think ill have a need for it. Plus i plan to make a little range on the property and the whole point of this is to stay quiet and cheap to shoot (minus the 2k im probably gonna spend for setup)Didn't know whether you wanted to shoot slugs or pellets.. just letting you know that the barrel liner the 700 comes with, at least in mine. Which is the only reason I gave the caveat about the slug liner. 500 or 600, while having less air comes with a liner more tailored to your wants. Please if that came off wrong in any way i apologize.
