PCP Rifle  SOLD Bottled Notos

Up for grabs, is my bottled Notos.
This is the whole nine yards, completely done up by Firewalker.
300cc FX bottle good for over a 100 shots, two 12 shot CARM mags, single shot tray, reg with gauge and fill nipple, barrel was recrowned, lapped, and threaded for 1/2x20 mod. I originally had a Donny Tanto with cone end cap on it, but found the stock mod not only lighter, but also hushed the Notos just fine. Comes with a fixed lightweight buttstock to eliminate the wiggle in the stock one. Functionally perfect little woods walker/stalker, just have too many currently. Shoots 15gn, Hades, 18gn, CPHP equally well. $425 shipped PP F&F.

UTG Accushot SWAT 3-12x44 MilDot and rings are not included, but can be added for $80. This scope is only offered for the buyer of the Notos.

Hatsan  Opinions on buying a cheap Hatsan springer and modifying it vs buying higher end Hatsan.

I am debating on either buying a more affordable Hatsan springer and modifying it for more high end performance.
Or possibly just spending $300 on a higher end model alreqady pre made.
I want something in .25 caliber as I heard their .25 caliber is more powerful than their .30 caliber.
Due to the use of the same gas piston in both models.
So I guess my questions are.
1. Is it possible to by a a cheap Hatsan and buy the stuff to upgrade it to a more powerful level? Or will I be better off spending more and getting a higher end air rifle?
2. Does Hatsan offer customer service or at least a secondary market for replacement springs/gas piston?
3. Would I be better off to get the .30 caliber ober the .25 caliber?
4. Is the .30 caliber able to be set up to perform with higher fps or is it pretty much topped out due to a limit in the gas piston mod availability?
Any advice or links is deeply appreciated.

Poor quality H&N pellets

My friend got 3 tins of barracudas, and shooting the first one was as usual nice for him, but trying to shoot pretty much any pellet in the following 2 tins was soon abandoned.

The pellets have a sharp dimple on the top of the dome, and can also have sharp edges elsewhere.

So i i took a bunch and sorted them, and not a single one of them was perfect and only a few was not as bad as the bad ones.

The batch.

IMG_20241026_133556.jpg

The poor ones from that batch i sorted.

IMG_20241026_134150.jpg

The not so bad ones i only found 9

They flew really bad.

We will be doing a RMA on those 2 tins.

Snowpeak  M60B 30 cal getting the mods

I decided to go ahead and keep the 30 cal. I ordered one of these upgrade valve kits off ebay.

Paul seems to know his stuff of the platform and has made a few videos of mods and teardown.

This should add 100 fps AND he says it will lower the reg pressure needed by 20-30 BAR which is a huge gain for the big bore. I'm currently running 170 bar and only getting 835 fps with 45 grain.

If this brings me up into the 925 range, I will likely cut the barrel down and go compact dirty thirty. Make some baffles to stick in the shroud and run it at stock length and bottle.

The choke is heavy on this gun and I think that's giving me fits with accuracy. It currently likes only the JTS 45.06 and fx hybrids. I've tried a few NSA slugs and it won't group them even at 40 yards.

If I can get it to shoot 44 grain hybrids in the 850-900 range, I'd be happy. I shoot pellets mostly anyhow.

FX  Odd Behavior from Dream-Tac

I was shooting my FX Dream-Tac yesterday and am experiencing some odd results. It's set up with a 500mm .177 barrel, reg set to 110 BAR. Shooting 15 gr NSA slugs I'm getting intermittent velocities. I'll shoot a couple rounds at 916 FPS and then get one at 370 FPS. One or two more at 916ish and then another at at 340 FPS. The regulator gauge is showing 110 BAR between each shot, so I'm not real sure what could be causing this. When shooting lighter ammo (10.5 gr pellets or 12 gr slugs) I'm not experiencing this... Any thoughts?

EDgun  Electronic Gauges, what is or is not normal on a fill?

Hi, I have an EDgun Leshiy 2 with the fancy electronic gauge called the MeaZy Gauge. Personally, I like the analog better but its what came with the package. I filled to 288 bar and in just over 7 days has dropped to 228 bar just sitting after a fill. The only times the gauge actually went up a bar or so was when sunlight was shining on the airgun. It keeps dropping bar. Is this a gauge problem or a leaky Leshiy?

JTS  JTS Airacuda likes balloons

Not even one week old and my JTS Airacuda Max really likes to inflate those balloons.
The proof is in the photos bellow.

For some reason the 100% positive youtube reviews do not show Airacuda's balloon inflating abilities.
Those youtube reviewers don't know what they are missing.

Hey, you 3D printers....

Can anyone out there help? I have a Quantaray (by Sunpak) 8500 tripod that needs an adapter plate for my Chrony. I have a link to printable files. Can anyone give me an estimate if I send you the files? Damn, these adapters are HARD to find! Got the tripod for $4.99. Not looking to spend megabucks on adapter plate.

Target shooting...I can't be the only one

I mostly shoot at steel targets in my backyard...and yes, occasionally, tree rats do find themselves in the wrong backyard. However, I find target shooting (paper) a lot less fun. This is not because I think target shooting in and of itself is not fun. It's just my brain finds itself on overdrive trying to get the perfect group and I forget to have fun.

There's something so simplistically pleasing about ringing steel or sniping dragonflies that land down range.

I can't be the only one to feel this way.

FX  FX impact M4 velocity “warm up”

I’m wondering if someone can shed some light on this question.

I’ve recently got an FX Impact M4 .22 700mm with slug power kit installed, heavy liner, carbon sleeve etc.

If the rifle has been resting (but is room temperature) I notice it takes a good 10-15 shots for the velocity to get to where I tuned it (1000 fps)

I’m shooting 34gr slugs, at the beginning of the first few shots from resting overnight the chronograph will show it starts at around 890fps, then by about its 15th shot it’s got back to where I tuned it to at around 990-1000 fps and works like a laser, I would expect a few shots to be sluggish to awaken the air system up, but 15 seems a lot to me.

Maybe there’s a solution or maybe it’s normal..?

What’s everyone’s experience?

My settings are - 165 reg pressure, macro 13, micro 3.5, valve 4 lines.

Thanks all

PCP Rifle  SOLD WTT American Air Arms Paradigm .22 (Upgraded)

Hi Everyone,

My dad (Dr. Mike on here) got me this for my competition benchrest gun and while I absolutely love it and is truly one of the most accurate guns I have shot I have decided this one just is not it for me. He almost kept it for himself but he could not justify it with all the other airguns he has. This gun does have a fairly good cocking force and I am wanting something lighter and quicker for competition.

It is an American Air Arms Paradigm in .22 and is shooting the Monster Redesigns right around 960 currently (likes both the regular and shallow skirt ones).

This Paradigm is not just an off the shelf model, it has Tom’s new externally adjustable regulator installed so is very easy to tune as well is the plenum extension allowing for much higher velocities.

Reg is set currently right around 2100 or so psi and gun is a 4000 psi fill. As she sits now I get right around 50 shots or so.

I have been able to dial her down to 1500 on the reg and shooting the 22.07 JTS at 920 she was also amazingly accurate.

Slug wise, I tried the 20.02 Howlers and FX Hybrids and in the 950 range both were very accurate out to about 75 yards (the Howlers gave the Redesigns a run for their money).

Comes with 3 magazines (2 CARM and 1 original), DonnyFL moderator adapter if you want to use another moderator but also comes with the American Air Arms one and that does an amazing job! Comes with all the tools you need for disassembling the gun as well, along with the lower pic rail currently in the gun a full length Arca rail will be included.

Scope, ring, bipod not included.

I am open to trades but will need to be something good for bench rest some guns I would like are another 700mm Impact .22 or .30 or a .22 or .25 Daystate Redwolf HP, RAW HM1000x .22 or .30, another original .22 RTI Prophet Performance with the long range pellet barrel or something like that. We can figure out money either way if we need to. Feel free to ask any questions etc.

Open to just selling as well if you want, just let me know your offer.

Some pics

RTI  Appreciation for an older design, Gen 1 Prophet Performance 22 LR

I owned a RTI Prophet Performance Gen 1 .22 LR which was the most accurate rifle I have ever owned, up until I got my Thomas HPX. Sadly I have owned and sold way to many air guns and none of them could beat the prophet for accuracy so they were sold. After I got my HPX the Prophet began collecting dust and I eventually sold it to one of the guys who shoots with us in our N50 matches. He kept after me to sell it so I did sell it to him on one condition, that if he ever decided to sell it that I would get first chance to buy it back. Looking back, I regretted selling the Prophet and it’s one rifle I wish I still owned. Recently I found another one here in the AGN classifieds and bought it just to see if my first one was just a fluke or if there really is something special about those rifles?

I received my Prophet #2 a few days ago so I scoped it and took it to the range today to see how it shot. I still had my notes from my first Prophet so I set the tune to shoot the same as my #1. To my surprise this one is a shooter, a very VERY good shooter which brought a sigh of relief and an afternoon of smiles.

I wasn't expecting too much because it was pretty windy, 12 MPH with gusts to 22. I was paitient and watched my flags and chose my shots carefully. I shot a selection of .22 MRDs from JSB, FX, Rangemaster, AEA and JTS And also the JSB Grands. All of the JSB variants shot very well but the rifle did not like the AEA and JTS offerings.

IMG_9512.jpeg

I used an FX tuner on my previous Prophet and it worked quite well. It takes a lot of time to find its happy place but once you do find it the results speak for themselves. Here is an example where the group on the left was shot and then I moved the tuner two hash marks and the right target shows the results. Its crazy how the groups shrink and expand as you search for the best anti-node that the barrel is happy with.

IMG_9519.jpeg
IMG_9520.jpeg

These are 5 shot groups all shot at 50 yards.

IMG_9524.jpeg

This is just one example that some of the older rifle designs are just as good or perhaps even better than the newest shiny designs with all the extra knobs, buttons, bells and whistles. Although YMMV…
