Facebook group content

I recently started a Facebook group to get local people from eastern Iowa involved in airguns and Field target. So far I have nine members and I post up information and videos every day. Just five to ten minutes videos hoping people will not get sick of it .

Any suggestions on content ? Things I should post to keep people? I don’t know what to post. I have started with videos about Field target basics and then Airgun basics . Like springsr vs PCP and how to set up a scope. Now I’m looking at ten meter Olympic and benches .
I am not even sure if this is the correct approach. Can’t really do much else. Don’t have a place to shoot yet. Winter is coming and most of the people in the group don’t own airguns.

That’s how” from scratch “ this is.

Does anyone paint the back of their slug/pellets?

I was thinking about spray painting the back of my slugs and pellets. Maybe like red. So I can see the slugs in flight toward the target. My concern is, would the paint cause the slug/pellet to shift poi? Would the added weight cause them to fly weird or spiral out of control. Have anyone trying painting only the back of their slug/pellets and what effect if any do you see.

PCP Rifle  NLA Snowpeak m60b 30 cal

Ok, let's try this again.

Basically new. Less than 300 rounds down the barrel. Loves JTS pellets. Likes hybrids. Hates JSB diabolos. Didn't really try many slugs, but seemed to like some NSAs I had.

Tuned for 2 mags/28 shots @ 70 fpe.

Looking for $425 shipped or possible trades for kral guns or similar priced guns.

3D printed DIY handle and stand for Acecare 9L CF tank

This turned out well for the 1st try. If I had to do it again I would shorten the handle's height and build in a hose retainer. I used 8 soft rubbery pads insets into the clamps to grip the tank (since PETG is slippery), brass threaded inserts and rubber feet on the bottom. The thing is solid, no movement when lifting or carrying the tank. The handle is some stainless steel tubing I saved over a decade ago when I sawed up an old gas grill.

BTW, the cheap made in China fill valve works OK for the price. No leaks. The downsides are the both gauges are too small and the readings are off. At a true 300 bar, the tank gauge reads 340 and fill gauge reads 310. Also the valve is like and on/off switch. Very hard or impossible to modulate the fill rate. Since I'm only filling guns that can go to 300 or more bar, not a big issue.

  • Question
Help identify animal based on description please

Out taking out squirrels on one of my family properties, Northeast extreme of the metro Atlanta area, bird with similar colorings to bobwhite and brown thrasher... Please excuse my crude descriptor as this is the best way I can put it.... Imagine a bobwhite, whipoorwhill, turkey, and song sparrow had a gangbang and somehow all the DNA melded into a mutant child, 2/3rds the size of a chicken, looking like an obese sparrow, round like a quail, faster than all hell, and the strut and tail display of a tom turkey. Had 2, this species has to be a game bird... Any bells ringing as to what it may be. The bird app I have is birdlab from Cornell University. And for my zip code nothing matches. The closest are thrasher, woodcock, and ovenbird, but no, way bigger, didn't appear to be flighted

FX  FX Seeking power again

I have a FX Dreamlite that is great for 50 yrds or less. I previously asked for opinions regarding a power upgrade purchase of a Crown MK2 or Dynamic in .22/500. One response caused me to think this over a lot more. The response was that if I am seeking more power to shoot the best pattern at 75 to 100 yards, not to buy the Crown. The responder said that If I shoot a dreamlite now I am going to see the Crown has more power but not SIGNIFICANT, I will be disappointed in the minimal increase I get compared to the Dynamic.
In his opinion the Dynamic will offer a more noticably significant power/ range/fpe/ result, while also being as accurate a gun, at any shorter ranges, as the Crown is.

In thinking through this, If investing in a Crown I sure do not want end up thinking as the responder suggested, that I end up with just a slightly better performance than I have now. It is also an issue that the guns are virtually the same price which makes the decision more difficult.
NOTE: I don't have any use for a mega gun shooting 200 yards or something. I will seldom shoot at 100 but 75 regularly. I imagine II could tune a Crown up to rival the Dynamic BUT i do now want to run the gun I buy real hot. I would prefer running more moderate pressures, which I think extends the life of these guns.
Thank You

FX  Wildcat mk3 (value priced)?

Hello nation,

I finally settled on which PCP rifle I wanted to get. I had settled on the FX wildcat Mk3 compact bottle. While doing a Google search I see that they now have a wildcat MK3 VP (value priced) and was wondering if anyone could tell me if there were differences besides the obvious.

I see that the value priced version comes with a 600 mm barrel while the regular version comes in 500 and 700 mm. It also looks like it comes with a bigger bottle than the compact version At 400 cc.

My question is is it worth spending the extra $200 to get the non-value priced version or is there a reason why the compact non-value is worth $200 more. Is there a catch about the value priced version that I’m not seeing?

PCP Rifle  NLA MRodAir Airmax Varmint - $150

Trying to downsize some.
Here is an MRodAir Airmax Varmint in 177 that I purchased new out of curiosity. I had in mind a very light hunter. I recently broke down and made some parts to tune it and spent time on it but I have too many and need to reduce my time consumers.
The factory barrel was recrowned, a Lothar Walther unchoked poly barrel fitted, a hammer spring adjustment device made, some different size ports made, some spacers for the valve spring made, plus there are a couple of different size hammer springs.
It is rated for 2000 psi max and has a small reservoir so shot count is small. Currently set for 19 ft lb for about 15 shots drom 2000 psi. It has 2 magazines plus a single shot tray and has decent iron sights. Cocking effort is fairly light. Weighs about 4 lb. Trigger is simple but less than a pound. All seals recently replaced...
I'm offering for $150 plus shipping for the rifle and all parts but LW barrel is optional. It's already fitted and as it's longer, will give a power increase.

Rifle in original box plus parts made and original parts - $150
Fitted LW 23" poly - $100
Shipping is extra but can use PirateShip
I prefer USPS MO or cash

As a dealer I want tell you the biggest hurdle people have with PCP's

So I am in farm and ranch country and try to market PCPs at a local level more than online. I've lost track of how many people have walked away from buying a PCP because they think their shop air compressor should be able to fill it. This is without a doubt the biggest problem I've had. They all describe how big their compressor is and I show them the proper compressor for the job. I explain its a PSI thing. Their shop compressor likely won't be able to exceed 175-200 psi and they just can't wrap their head around that.

Stocks/Grips/Chassis  NLA price drop..Gray wolf Fx Crown GRS stock

Fx Crown GRS gray wolf stock. With everything needed to make the swap to include screws, trigger gaurd and a safety

Well shipping my rifle back to me from being gone through for the season Ups cracked the stock at the grip. I had it professionally repaired its been pinned and epoxied. While it was being repaired i got a Sabertactical gen2 Chassis and decided to keep my rifle in the chassis. They no longer make this stock so they will become harder to find as time goes on. When i bought this stock i paid 800.00 for it they were not cheap.

I am asking 430.00 now 400.00 now 350.00 Net to me shipped to your door CONUS only. Alaska & Hawaii will have to cover cost to ship. Forms of payment i accept are PayPal F&F gift, Venmo and cash app. My feedback is solid so buy with confidence. I ship everything bulletproof so know it will get there in one piece. I would take in trade with cash on top, a 22 cal Fx heavy 500mm liner.

See pictures for the repair and any marks i could find overall the stock is solid and in good shape.

Trades? For something interesting try me
