N/A  Sure liking this Cometa Fenix 400 USC

I am only shooting in the house at just past 12 yards, but this little rifle wants to snuggle the JSB Exact 4.52 8.44s very close together indeed. I haven't even gotten 200 pellets through the rifle yet and am just beginning to learn its secrets, but it seems to like being rested just ahead of the trigger guard in a Protektor owl-ear bag, no shoulder contact and as light a touch as I can manage holding it at the wrist and pulling the trigger as gently as possible. These five, five-shot groups tell me that with practice and a little patience I can shoot some serious one-holers.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Limited Edition Daystate Grey Shadow #44/150 Mint Condition, Glossy Black/Grey Laminate Stock, Titanium + Gold, Custom Hugget. Beautiful work of art!

I am looking to see what trade offers I can get, but would also consider selling if the price is right. This gun cost $3.7k back in 2014 when it came out.
It is still in great condition.

Limited Edition Daystate Grey Shadow #44 of only 150 made in the world.

Each barrel was hand selected from the factory for the best accuracy and placed in each of the 150 guns in this LE run. Apparently less than 10 of these guns are in the US. The accuracy is unbelievable and capable of true 5 shot one hole groups at 100 yards.
Amazing and beautiful gun, one of the nicest I've seen... the perfect collector's item.
It's .22cal quietly shooting 40 fpe at high power mode and power is adjustable.

*All functions work perfectly, no damage, dents or scratches, in Like New condition, no issues besides the LCD display screen isn't showing up, but the electronic system is still working fine and programmed properly. The trigger is insane, like clicking a mouse! This is as simple as a connection failure and can be remedied by someone who knows the electronics on these guns very easily, likely a misplaced connector that just needs to be placed in the proper spot. A drop in replacement with an Air Wolf LCD screen is also possible and after talking to Airguns of Arizona they are happy to quickly remedy this (I live on the other side of the country, or it would have been done already)
Otherwise, it's perfect. I didn't want to mess with it myself, so leaving it as is, but giving full disclosure, will detract the $60~ price of a new screen from the value if you choose to do go that route.*

The gun has/comes with:
-Hi-gloss Grey/Black Laminated ambidextrous thumbhole stock
-Two Stage electronic trigger
-Special engraved breech in Titanium with Grey Shadow logo,
-Titanium Plating on Metal Parts
-Gold Coloring on Bolt and (adjustable) trigger
-Rotary electronic safety catch
-Custom fully baffled Huggett silencer unlike on any other gun
-Removable 10 shot rotary magazine
-AC Charger + Keys
-Comes in a Daystate Hard Case

Only 150 of this gun exist in the world, I will entertain any trade offers for other nice guns, also open to partial trades+cash

Looking for any rare, custom, unique, or high end PCP rifles.
(Also interested in Western Airguns Sidewinder Compact, FX Wildcat Compact mk3 BT, and other compact 22 slug shooters)
If you wish to outright purchase - PM me with your offer.

Back to plnking happily

Hi all, It's been 2 + years since being able to shoot due to illness. Didn't have enough strength to crank my springers and hold up to aim. Happily that seems to be done with. Here's a picture of my first serious attempt to begin again. .177 are with my old Gamo Silver Shadow 1000. The .22's are with my Benji Trail NP. All done at 30 yds to challenge myself. Feels so good. Stay well all👍

Air Venturi  Completed my .22 build today

I got the chasis from Dana @ Termidator. The short carbon fiber shroud with adapters and barrel bands came from AESWEDE. I sent barrel and action to Wayne @Ailen Airguns. He ported barrel and drilled lead in. Increased valve to 7mm, installed 8mm peek poppet and springs with a 25 cc plenum. I added a 700cc bottle with 2nd reg. Got plenty 25.39 and 33.95 JSBs. Gonna shoot on chrono tommorrow. Hoping to get 60+ fpe. We shall see. Ill post the results👍😎💯

The Elephant in the (Classified Ads) Room?

Greetings, all.

As a one-time (?) seller and occasional buyer in the classified section, I have noticed that since about May little is selling easily, even after several reductions. Other items, apparently due to not being sold, disappear. I look at the classified ads continuously and find that there is a new "normal" for the price of used rifles and scopes. What was selling, say, for $1,300 or $600.00 in the spring, is now sitting still for a couple of hundred less, give or take. These are intentionally fabricated numbers, and I am not trying to cause anyone grief, and I am not pointing to anyone, so please do not take this personally. It is an observation. It seems to be a buyer's market, in plain English.

Is this perceived change in the market due to hard times, sales offered by retailers, a funny trend, or something else?
If I am missing a good piece of this issue, forgive me. I have been a member for a relatively short period, so I cannot speak to the matter from any lengthy experience.

Thanks for listening. S7

So do you like it HARD or soft......Noooooo your gun case?

Ordered a FX Wildcat Compact that I had my dealer upgrade to the longer sniper barrel. With that said the standard hard case that came with it would not fit with the longer barrel so I traded it back and now on the hunt for a good case. I'm sure there are pros and cons to each but what are the advantages of the hard cases over the soft and vice versa. Also a good place to order? What should I expect to pay for a decent case either way?

Testing 14 different pellets with my Brocock Sniper XR

Hello everyone,

What a surprise and a bunch of information gathered today. Conditions near perfect and after shooting another paper target I decided to Test Shoot every .22 cal pellet that I have except for Slugs. The list contains, Domed, Hollow Point, Pointed Tip, and even Wadcutters. Weights from 11.9gr up to 25.4gr, See attached List below.

Range: Outdoor 25-Yards
Rifle: Brocock Sniper XR .22 caliber
Scope: Athlon Argos BTR Gen2 10-40x56
Wind: 0 to 3 mph

I am impressed how well the Sniper shoots such a wide variety of pellets. True, not all shot well enough for competition but other than #1 and #5 good enough to hunt with in general. The number above each target is the same for the Pellet shown on the List. I did re-shoot number 12 and number 8 to confirm their accuracy. I shot five pellets at each target. I will now do more testing on a select group.

Benjamin  Low and Behold!

Seems like it’s all about pumping today. And I am certainly pumped! I had been missing my pumpers. Haven’t had one for decades. Grew up on a Benjamin. Then a Sheridan in the early 80’s. Been watching Sheridan prices and just can’t go there. Don’t have any 5 mm pellets either. Thought of the Dragonfly as my friend has one and let me shoot it. I thought it was kinda clanky. Saw the limited edition Crosman 362 this morning on another post. Could not pull the trigger on this one either. Then, I went to another site and found this custom Benjamin 392pa In 22 caliber. And this lefty really appreciates the ambi stock. I certainly hope the trigger is as nice as the rest. BINGO! It’s on the way!

Optics  SOLD Unopened NEW Bushnell Elite 4500 4-16x Scope

Bushnell definitely has the best warranty in the game, sent them a super old optic and they sent me back this brand new scope. Already have an extra as-is, so hopefully this can find a new home. As you can see in the screenshots this is $335 if you were to purchase this item through a retailer, will ship to you for $240 (international would cover the difference).

Thanks for looking!

Crosman  Buyers remorse

Hey!

New here, I just ordered a crosman 1720t used. It seems like a great little thing, but I am not sure if it is the right thing for me.

Would be nice if anyone convince me it is, or if not show me what I should set my sights for.

I want a small thing, that goes easily in my backpack, for medium to long trips. Where I am fully packed up with hammock and what ever I need for that trip.

I have seen some birds at some of the locations, mainly mallard and some other species. I want to be able to take a mallard down at around 15-20 yards.
And a few times I see rabbits too, so it would be awesome if the little thing I carry have enough power for that.

I see how the crosman is a very nice pistol, and it will for sure get use. As my friends kid, is about to start trying to shoot. And what better is there to shoot with as your first shots than that..

But I still feel it is underpowered for what I want it to do.
Was looking at the mods, and I see most saying to not put it up too high in the power department for it will lose accuracy. And I am very open for suggestions for mods, because I know it will happen anyways.

FX  After watching this video I was very impressed by how quiet this two FX airguns were despite being .30 cal

At first for the only reason I was a little reluctant to buy one of this bigger cal .30 airguns was because the incredible noise (blast) they produce since I only shot them in my backyard. But after seeing this Joe Brancato video shooting this two FX MK2 and MK3 Impacts it looks like if you detuned to shot them with pellets instead of slugs at a more lower speeds below 900 fps, they become very backyard friendly if used with a good moderator like this DonnyFL shogun. But this is the catch the only FX airgun that I really like are the new model king with their incredible beautiful GRS stock. Just wondering if this new models will be as quiet as the Impacts from having their barrels completely shrouded. My favorite stock color is the green mountain laminated. I would like to know some opinions on this. Thanks.

Almost got my coyote#8

I got a text yesterday morning from the farmer saying the coyote has been digging around the compose where a stillborn calf was buried. I have shot one at the same spot back in July of this year, that was my Coyote#7.

So I decided to stop by last night around 8:45pm to setup and got ready from my shooting spot from the 2nd floor window of the barn next to the compose area. The target area was 17-20 yards, downward. I mounted my Impact MK2 on the tripod and took a test shot at a spot on the concrete barrier. POI was about 1/4" high and I reminded myself to aim a bit lower. I have no idea if the coyote was going to show up or not.

I had to sit and wait for 4 hours 4 feet from the window ledge, occasionally stood up and did some stretching. Luckily it wasn't too cold last night and I was dressed warm. I didn't get a chance to retrieve the trailcam footages which I had placed about 15 feet from the target area. I was using it as a indicator with the red IR lights to alert me when it detects motion. Strangely it never came on when the coyote showed up just like the last coyote shoot. Trail cam was working as it captured me when I was at the spot after.

So sitting in the dark, I was trying to keep myself alert and had my eyes glued down towards the field below. Periodically scan the field and at the trail cam with my binoculars. The night wasn't too dark and I was able to see fairly well even with my old aging eyes.

The coyote came at 12:20am and I spotted it in the field about 35-40 yards away. I quickly got off my seat and got behind my gun without making any sudden movement or noise. I pressed the on button on my Pard007S which was on a standby mode and immediately turned on my side mounted external 850nm IR light.

I scanned the ground and found the coyote in my scope view. My heart began to race and adrenaline was flying high. I told myself to breathe and remain calm. I got this.

The coyote was walking around looking for scraps in the grass field. It found something to chew and ate whatever it was. I followed my cross hair on its head. Looking back at the recorded footage, I had two moments where I could have squeezed off a shot but I didn't. Mainly because I wasn't sure how far the coyote was at the time and I didn't want to make an error. So I waited and continued to watch it thru my scope. It made a lot of movement as they often do, and it finally came closer to the concrete embankment.

The compose area was enclosed with two concrete blocks stacked in a U shape. The height was probably 5' high. The side of the barrier obscured my view as the coyote was behind it scavenging for the dead calf. I only saw the top part of its head and upper back as it moved in and out of view. At one point I lost track of it, thinking that it was gone. I began to panic a little bit and told myself to take the shot when it pops up in view next.

Well, it did and I got my cross hair right on the back of its head. I squeezed off the shot and the H&N 25gr Gen2 slug blasting thru my 600mm Slug Liner A barrel at 967 fps at its indented target. Everything seems to be in slow motion. I could still hear my heartbeat and the anticipation of the slug penetrating thru the back of the coyote's skull with unstoppable force. The slug hit where I had aimed but the coyote had moved its head to the right and downward. I saw the coyote dropped down and I thought "Yes, I got it."

I unmounted my gun off the tripod and began to walk thru the barn, down the stairs and towards the target area. I was filled with excitement and satisfaction that I got lucky and tagged my coyote#8. A hunt that was not planned, at least not this visit, and I got lucky to encounter this coyote on this night.

It took me probably 2-3 minutes to reach the spot. I had my flash light eagerly scanning the area and at the spot. WTF? Where was the body. I turned around and started searching the area with my flash light. I couldn't see it. Where could it be? I clearly saw the coyote dropped down after the shot. Oh my god, did I missed?

I looked around for a bit more and went back to the compose area hoping to see some blood trace, but found none. Yup, I was shocked and disappointed for failing to tag this coyote. What went wrong? I gathered my gear and removed the trail cam and headed home. The whole drive home was puzzling and filled with mixed emotions.

I loaded up the SD card into my computer and reviewed the footages multiple times both in real time and slow motion. I saw exactly what I recalled seeing thru the night vision scope. The coyote was hit, but how did it run away. I went to bed around 2pm, tossing and turning. I didn't get a good sleep.

This morning I reviewed the footages again and my conclusion is that the coyote had turned to the right and down as the slug hit the upper part of its head. It looked like I just got the skin. I hope it survives without too much pain. I didn't want to have a badly injured coyote running around.

I will be heading back to the farm and set up my trail cam again to see if I might get lucky to capture more activity in the next little while.

I know I will probably get a lot of criticism for missing this shot and potential injuring this coyote. But it happened and I apologize for missing my shot.

I was so close to tagging my coyote#8. Darn it.
