Other  Pinty QM23 Bullpup

I ordered and received a Pinty QM23. It arrived yesterday in excellent condition.
It's surprisingly light and compact.

So, a quick barrel cleaning, a few shots and left it overnight. This morning it had lost no air pressure so over the chrony it goes.
I loaded a full mag of JSB 15.89s and fired away. 880 fps plus or minus 3 fps. Amazing for a new gun, new reg. It stayed on the bench until this afternoon.

I dug through my scopes and found a compact 3-12 Bugbuster that would seem a good match. This is where the problem became apparent. The gun has a picatinney looking rail. The brochure says 22mm picatinny. The mounts would not tighten. Two different sets of mounts just flopped around. I even found a Pinty 4x tactical with built in picatinney mounts. A caliper revealed that the mounts are only 19mm wide.

Anyone else have this problem? I awaiting a response from the seller listed I the brochure. I hope it's an anomoly as I think I'll quite like it if it's accurate.

Airgun Technologies  Uragan 2 Depinger Power level problems?

Hello all!

I have an Uragan 2 600 .22 that has been a great gun and has hundreds and hundreds of shots without a problem.
Since I have other PCPs I wanted my U2 to be my slug and slong distance "shooter".

After some fiddling I've finally came to a great tune for it. It shoots Zan 25.5gr at 1005fps like a laser. I was really happy with it, the only thing that always bothered me was the ping that it makes with every shot. Some months ago I bought a depinger for it from ebay, but never came about to install it, You have to dissasemble most of the gun to reach it. But today I finally had time, and the gun developed a really slow leak, I thought it was about time I installed the thing and made some maintnance to the gun.
I sucessfully intalled the depinger and put everything together again. Its so much better and quiter with the depinger!! And the leak is gone.

Now come the problems. My power went down. I was shooting 1000-1005fps and I went all the way down to 915fps. I went in again and adjusted the regulator but the max I could get was around 960fps, and at that speed the groups are bad. Slugs are really specific with speed in this gun.
I know I reduced the volume of the plenum with the depinger a bit, but should it matter that much? This platform platform is good for .30 at 100+Ft/lbs...

So now what do I do?

- Remove the depinger and go back to the last tune?
- Fiddle some more? (its a pain to degass and dissasemble for every regulator change, and the reg is already really open)
- I could adjust the hammer, but this gun has an assited valve, so It should not matter that much and it should break the valve easily at this power level.
- Buy an huma regulator? Its more compact, maybe I can get better numbers?

Any ideas?

PCP Rifle  SOLD AGT Uragon 30

Up for sale is my Uragan 30 with around 150 shots. Guns in great condition was used as a back up gun for predator control. Very accurate with griffin slugs. Gun will include a Donny FL ronnnin and a vortex Diamondback tactical 4-16-44 FFP and ARCA Swiss plate for tripod attachment.

Asking $950 shipped to lower 48. Not looking for trades at this time.

Just went through my stash and found 900 slugs that the gun loves. I’ll include them in the sale but we’ll have to ship em separate bc they’ll weigh a ton. Momma says no new muzzleloader if I don’t sell some toys so let’s get this sold.
When the site updated it got rid of all of my feedback so I apologize for only 1. I have no problem FaceTiming or sending pics to verify that this is real.

  • Question
What should i look for in a budget scope?

Hello Everyone, Not really in the states myself, but i am getting a scope for my air rifle.. my budget is 50 to 100$ and the options here are limited, mostly chinese but they look ok. The discovery ones are over 200$ but i can't afford that right now. i got a quick look at the ones available in my budget and they are not plenty. the 100$ one looks like a 4-16x52. It's worth mentioning all of them are FFP. If you have any idea or suggestion to anything you think is useful please go ahead!

Umarex  Big Brother Arrived Today

The Notos's big brother arrived today. Was eyeing the Zelos for a little while since I've been really impressed with the Notos at it's pricepoint. Then, after a few liquid encouragements, I decided to just get it. Got it through Dack's for $418 shipped to my door, first time I've ordered from them and was expecting to wait a while before receiving it. I was ok with having to wait, but that didn't end up being the case. I placed my order late last Friday. The Zelos arrived today, so less than a week. I'm very excited to play around with it. The only disappointing part is I don't think I'll have much time to shoot this weekend, so there's always next week lol

Where to buy compressors !

Ahh live and learn ! Amazon vs Ebay . I have used both with satisfaction until now . All compressors are mostly made in china . My yong heng was purchased on Ebay less than a year ago and came with a lifetime warranty by the seller Vipshopmarket . Crankcase broke badly while running . After multiple contacts with Vipshopmarket without satisfaction I talked to Ebay twice and was told after 30 days Ebay will do nothing. With Amazon you can get warranty protection cheap and I know from experiance get satisfaction fast and easy with that protection . From now on it is Amazon only . Ebay is not an option . I asked Ebay if they were owned by China and they said no . Not so sure myself . Hope this info saves one of you men some money and grief ! New compressor on its way from Amazon with extra 3 year warranty [50 $]

  • Question
N/A  Does fill pressure determine sweet spot velocity?

i just did a handful of strings at 3000psi and every increase in hammer spring isnt flattening the curve. im getting over 1000fps currently and the ES is barely coming down. im not trying to shoot that hot, i am curious at this point and want to see where it goes but when i fill it to 2000 psi for example i can make a couple adjustments and its shooting good at 900fps. the lower the fill pressure the lower the sweet spot seems to be.. im trying to shoot 800-900 at 3000psi so my dwell time is faster, faster valve close.. am i retarded or what is going on here? unregulated pcp obviously..

Course Design- Setting a 36T in the Wind

AAFTA has released their new scoring formula for 2025, it is what it is at this point, to garner 100% of the available GP points for a match win the course difficulty needs to be set at 36T without wind and light/dark difficulty modifiers.

The Battle Mountain match in Nevada is a very difficult venue to shoot, the wind, the sun, and the canyon walls are relentless. A 45 yard target looks like its 55 yards away, a 55 yard target looks illegal, one's sense of scale/distance is distorted and there is very little around to judge wind when it is under 10mph.

This is not a post for commenting on the new scoring formula, it is to try and figure out how to set an 'easy' 36T course in a location where there is a lot of wind. Since the scores are relative to that match a low scoring win counts for full points (36T course), we'll just have to live with the lower hit percentages (we're Tough Enough).

Typically the course in Nevada has been set at or around a 28T, which sounds low yet some of the best shooters in the world have a very difficult time breaking into the typical hit percentages seen on a more difficult course without the Nevada wind.

Scott H posted about optimizing the course to as close to 36T as possible for all targets. Which makes sense, but is it better to put the smaller targets further out or the larger targets further out if you want to account for a low Troyer target (say for offhand)? We have a unique offhand lane that we would ultimately like to keep but it will not allow for a 36T target (without modifying the target itself).

Would it make sense to move the further targets in some and the closer targets out? Thinking that further out targets are more difficult in the wind... Is this any gain over keeping things at 36T.

I've been toying with the idea of setting some long distance small kz targets in areas where there is less wind (can't do that with the distance targets). I believe for Hunter a small KZ is easier if it is not at 10 yards.

What would people prefer? What have people experienced as good/bad? Nevada had one day of 36T but it was haphazardly set on site and likely a bad experience for target placement.

Is there a way to make an easy or hard 36T course? I suppose the easiest would be as Scott mentioned, everything as close to 36T as possible.

The Worlds was a very interestingly set group of courses, i'd be interested in knowing more about the course layout if it was a 36T, the variation in target size and distance was well balanced.

Is setting courses like making a sandwich, when you make it it doesn't taste the same as when someone else makes it...? LOL

FX  .250 42gr H&N only going 700 fps

Hello there,
First of all nice to be here.
Now the problem.
I was shooting with my FX Impact M3 today.
Trying out the 30gr from H&N in cal .250. Those were not exiting. So i switched back to the 42gr. same caliber.
But what i recognized was that i only was shooting the 42gr with 700fps.
The setup of my gun is:
700mm barrel
Slug powerkit
Tungsten hammer
1:18 STX Superior Liner FX Heavy
Powerblock from factory (was bought with it)
Pinprobe
Also on it is the barrel carbon sleve and the barrel tensioning kit.
The front reg is about 200bar
The rear reg is 165bar ish.

I am doing something wrong with the tune or is 700fps the maximum speed for that caliber in this gun setup

I tried turning out the valve as far as i can. The fps go up to 1000+ but a shoutgun would shot with less spread
Shoud i add a 800mm barrel to the setup. To get an increase in speed and accuracy?

Advise on asking questions about anything

Think! What I mean is this: think before asking, and make it easier for people to give you a better answer by "thinking" about what you really want to know.
What air gun, what scope, what power, what, what, and what. Not a good way to ask something.
The More information someone gives, the better response or answer you will get.
If you do not know anything, you may be better off doing some homework on your own to better grasp the subject you're asking about.
Being lazy is like not aiming; how the heck are you going to hit your target if you do not take aim? Your target is to get the best information you can about what you want to know, right?

N/A  Cheapest accurate, reliable, cocking, .22 pistol with red dot or other optic?

Looking for the cheapest, yet accurate/precise and reliable, cocking pistol with red dot or scope. Maximum distance would be 10 meters. Preferable precision would be 1 inch or better at that distance. I have a scoped springer Hatsan .22 rifle that I'm pleased with, the pistol version of that is what I sort of have in mind, if such exists. The Hatsan Mod 25 Supercharger .22, maybe with a Hatsan red dot looks like it might be what I'm looking for. Don't want to deal with charging or CO2, just cock and pop. Prefer to stick with .22 cal.

Before I pull the trigger on that, I thought I'd ask the collective wisdom if there's anything better for that sort of $$$. Even cheaper would be better. This would be a beater working air pistol, not for show, not for the Olympics.

Sadly, this is for rats, so sufficient power is also a requirement, as is reliability, but this thing probably wouldn't see more than 30 shots a year, so super amazing durabiity isn't necessary. I live out in the middle of nowhere and rats are a real issue. I was never a hunter and have tried many, many, many other non-lethal methods with limited degrees of success, but I need additional options.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Air Venturi Avenger Bullpup, Gen.1. $220 shipped

AIR VENTURI AVENGER BULLPUP .177caliber Included are: DONNYFL 1/2"x 20 Adapter for moderators, The stock Baffled muzzle cap, 2 magazines, single shot try, and 400 Baracuda Match 4.51mm pellets. $220 shipped.

For $335 add a CVlife 4-16x44SFIR, mounted and zeroed and a nice case.

Gun is currently set at 1800psi, shooting H&N Baracuda Match 10.65gr, 4.51 head diameter pellets at 921-929fps, grouping 1/4" overall group size not CTC at 30y. I've shot an entire fill of these to insure that. I've spent a lot of time testing this gun to find the best pressure, hammer, velocity, pellet/slug combo for this gun, and after weeks of experimenting, a lot of promising results. This is the best. I've had this gun shooting as high as 26fpe. Never brought the regulator over 2600psi, so there is definitely room for more power, currently shooting right at 20fpe. Gun is in very good condition PP F&F, Venmo, Zelle.
