PCP Rifle  SOLD WTS. Aselkon Ravello RX6 22 caliber

Up for sale is my Aselkon RavelloRx6 pcp rifle. I bought the gun new about a year ago. Has approximately 900 rounds thru it. I used it for hunting ground squirrels. It has developed a leak and won’t hold air overnight. It worked for hunting this summer since it would hold air for most of the day.
So there’s not much support and the gun is a Turkish made gun. Other than leaking the gun is in great shape. There are a couple scuffs on the bottle that appear in pictures. I suspect it’s leaking from the regulator. It needs work so I’m selling it for $300. Shipping included to continental USA. Would be a great project gun.

Results  September SVFTC Match report

It appears the heat of summer, delayed or postponed outside work has caught up with a lot of our typically present crew !! That further compounded by a late season Gran Prix match on the same weekend having 6 more of our regulars up in Ashland OR for said event.

This left us with 11 shooters present for our September match & in No Way did that damp our enthusiasm for a Fun & Challenging club match !!

Chris & Scott on site a tad before 7 and tad after 7 getting after the course set up, and having it 3/4's done by the time the next car drives in being done with the 14 lanes inside @ 35-40 minuets.

Todays match had a Twist .. That by the time we finished had mixed feeling about it, tho mostly positive.
* We had set out 3 full KZ 2" bell targets out on the @ 53/55 yard line having 1 each on lanes THREE, SIX & NINE. These were declared as a mandatory extra shot on these 2 lanes with the applied scoring rule as:
Take 2 shots at each, A HIT on the Bell target scores 2 Points, A Miss scores a Negative 2 Points This in the simplest terms was hit 1st miss second a ZERO, Hit Bell BOTH times you gained 4 points
;D
in addition to the 2 knock down targets score ( 8 possible points on these lanes ) Or the bad way it ended for many being especially the low power or spring shooters was MISSING BOTH shots on the bells getting a negative 4 that wiped out any previous hits & score on the 2 previous knock down targets in the lane yielding a entire lane ZERO ... OUCH !!!
Fun yes, score Number counters not so much ... Challenging ABSOLUTELY !!

Todays match knowing our shooter numbers were much reduced we opted out on providing our typical lunch & extras, everyone got a 1/2 price match fee to compensate.

MATCH RESULTS by Class, Name & Score ( The Zero or +4 or - 4 in the totals ) ( Noted behind score as to lane 3/6/9 results ) XX/56 + extra shots

It was noticed by many how quiet everyone was today & not the typical giggling and laughing but more serious ... Interesting ? None the less all stated it was a great match, challenging course and fun. Our top shooters continue to set the bar pretty high which will continue to make for a more refined course set up in the future to have something for everyone.
Yea the IONE breeze was there from the start & steadily increased threw out the morning and even did a direction switch on us. So continues the lessons to be learned in shooting in the wind.
We cleaned up, packed up and most were gone by 1:00 or so with 2 of us staying around till @ 3:00 shooting OR should we say ATTEMPTING to shoot 50 & 75 yards in a pretty good breeze with there higher power .22 PCP's.

Thats it guys ... Another one on the books for 2024 !! Thank you to those that made it out & Don't hate the MD for a Fun / Not so Fun lay out & scoring. It is a Club FUN MATCH after all.

FX  Feet are wet once more with a Fx Dreamline Tac-Compact build & mod

This little rig fell into my hands on such a killer deal !!! So it stayed with me and got a Motorheads AG work over

Started with quieting it down as the factory 320mm .177 barrel had quite the bark !! Was not wanting the length of an effective LDC so went about designing and fabricating a secondary Shroud to fit over the OEM shroud. This 1 1/2" CF tube came off an offset RAW moderator / LDC. As did one of the Air strippers at exit which was cut down and Re-threaded 1/2-20 fitting the OEM shroud exit threads. Added length a mere 2 1/4" (y)

Next was fix of IMO FX'S less that effective 5 stacked o-rings under crush at barrel thimble retention miens. In it's place a machined Delrin sleeve having counter sunk bevels on each end. 1 o-ring at each end forced by the bevels to crush inward against liner. The sleeve fabricated has an I.D. fit to liner that is a modest snug slip fit also sized to fit thimble housing in a similar light but snug fit. With end nut snugged up the barrel rings like a wind chime with a finger flick ... It is now one with the thimble housing !!

Up next the trigger, yea that same o'l same o'l rolling barrel with a notch set FX has used for many years now. Out came the eye loupe to take a closer look at profile for the sear notch finding .. well lets say not impressed 🥴.. Out came the Stones and ceramics taking the surface finish from blaw to crisp & smooth. Hammer holding sear next sharpening and smoothing up the surfaces in contact. Installed it all back in place & adjusted ... Hot Damn !! It is super smooth and if ball plunger is set critical perhaps a 2 ounce creep free trigger break.

Placed an inclinometer with double stick tape on receivers left side where butt stock folds in over it w/o contact.
Up top side a USO TS-3 3 to 12 power compact scope with an Optisan EVX 44mm sun shade attached. Scopewerks nautilus side wheel and D.O.P.E card around barrel.
Telescopic wind flag on the right side rounds it out.

Little gun came to me power maxed out with 10.3's @ 890 fps, reg was at 150 bar & power wheel maxed out. Shot count dismal and noisy !!!
Now regs @ 110 bar & power wheel on 9 shooting JSB 8.4's @ 900 fps & making a solid 70 shots at @ 15 fpe with very low noise.

So just a share of a quick & tidy revamp. Not owned an FX for many years now, so a BIG break in tradition around here.

Thanks for reading along :giggle:

Who is using cant for wind correction?

Just before I broke my wrist I used it a bit. I need more practice but it surely works. It will be a few months before I can shoot again so for now I cannot give specifics about it other than canting in the direction the wind is blowing from. The amount of cant I still need to experiment with.

Anybody with experience with it?

Ever Zero a Scope on One Gun, Remove It, Mount it on Another Gun, and Have Virtually Identical Zeroes?

So the Athlon Helos BTR Gen 2, 2-12x that many of you have probably read me say is a "meh" scope for me has been sitting for months. I'd zeroed it for use on my Benjamin Bulldog M357 and decided that I didn't like it and I particularly didn't want to use it on that rifle. So I broke it out this weekend and threw it on another rifle and didn't have to touch a thing. Using some of the same ammo it was just about spot on. I didn't touch the turrets.

Anyone ever experience this? Can anyone explain how this happens?

Daystate  What's your opinion on the Daystate Griffin....

I been looking at this rifle for a long while. People who had or still has this rifle what are the best pellets in .177 . How many shots per fill should I get on this rifle?? Anything else that can be told. I understand this is a 7/8 year old rifle but WOW love that stock and that silver color. If I get one going to be a bench only. I have nothing in .177 looking for something to shoot at 50yard in .177.
BUT should I be looking at the newer wolverine in .177??? Opinions please....thanks...

Bound to Happen

Regardless of how cheap or expensive your airgun is, they can, will and do break.
Yesterday i got to learn something new about the PCP foster fill fittings. Two types, one uses a spring to seat the shuttle valve the other doesn't.
Anyhoots, when the shuttle valve fails, your gun will degas at the airtube. In my case the grub which held the shuttle valve in place actually came out and was inside the airtube with the shuttle valve.

Easy fix. always keep dowty washers handy and some patience. Helps to have some non marring nylon pliers too for grabbing air tubes or shrouds around barrels.
the fix was simple in my case, clean the shuttle, some proper oring lube, cinch the grub down proper and put a new dowty washer on the Foster QD and reinstall in the barrel.

I recommend airgunners visit Best Fittings in the U.K. for getting some proper spare parts

I had a thief in my yard the other day

I was looking at my cameras Sunday morning and noticed one of my yard lights look rather bright, so when it got light out I check it out. Come to find out it was missing it's top. After looking with no success I proceeded to my security cameras footage and low and behold I found the thief. Has anyone else had experiences with these turds. I just opened crow season !

100 yard shooting - .177 vs .20 cal vs .22

Hi all,

I'm seriously considering a new HW97k in .20 primarily for 100 yard, benched shooting. No competition, just smaller and smaller hard targets (think KYL/spinners) and the occasion fun session of slowly turning leftover clay pigeons into little specks. 👍

I do some of that now, as time permits. I find that I prefer .22 over .177 in the same powerplants (typically HW95/R9's or D34's) but I have to think that .20 cal would be some improvement over both.

Of course, I could be romanticizing that!
You all know that there are differing opinions of .20 caliber. I'm expecting much better wind drift than .177, and a small improvement in drift and drop vs .22.
That's with an estimated .20 cal energy level that is very similar to known .22 levels. I don't have a good read on what to expect from .20, other than to slot it right in the middle of .177 & .22....

Anyway, for those of you that have been down the .20 cal road, please chime in.
To me, its really .20 vs .22, but I'd like to hear all sides...

One thing to mention - I'm not worried about the limited pellet selection/availability/cost issue at all.

Thanks all!

New guy in Kentucky

Good morning, new guy here!

I got a call Saturday from a gentleman at AOA stating that the HW97K Walnut .22 I ordered was in! Less than a couple weeks has passed since having my name put on a list.

Now I need to get off the fence and order a scope and rings for it so I can shoot the dern thing when it comes in.

I’ve read many posts about both medium and tall rings being used according to how one’s cheek/face mates to the stock. How the gun fits to you. I’m thinking I should buy one of each when I order the scope to have the best chance of proper fitment.

Also, I’ve been buying the senior fishing license for the past few years and never once realized it was also a hunting license all rolled into one. So squirrel’s are covered!

Anyway, I’m happy to have found a forum with such knowledgeable members. Information gleaned here has helped in my purchasing decision(s).

Happy to be here.

Air Tanks  WTS Ninja EZ valve & CF bottle $135

This combo has worked great for me. Since I currently sold all my PCP, I can use the cash more than just sitting on this till next time I get a pcp.
Only mod is I removed the restrictor, so it's not a slow fill valve. Just crack it open and fill normally.
$135 obo PayPal or Zelle
I will cover shipping 50 states

Diana  Diana 75HV Scoped

I finally put a scope on the Diana 75 after getting it back from David Slade. He did an awesome job on the rebuild and the rifle is now ready for many years of shooting. The diopter sights are nice and it shot quite well, but my eyes arent what they used to be. It was nice seeing the target clearly through the scope. The scope is nothing fancy and I didn’t even dial it in. I just wanted to see how it shot. I’ll be setting it up with a better scope in the near future. I’ll also test a few pellets to see what it prefers. Just took a guess on the 7.87’s for now.

10 shots. Only 13 yards but I’m pleased so far.

Kudos to David Slade for a job well done. So smooth to shoot. Zero vibration or recoil😎

Spraying Slugs?

I'm very new to PCP and shooting but am reading everything I can find.

One manufacturer recommended spraying their slugs with silicone spray to prevent barrel fouling -
I'm not shooting their slugs but tried it on the ones I am using.

I'm shooting H&N Slug HP II 34 gr - I'm getting about 862 FPS and the STD DEV in an 8 shot string is averaging 3.5 with the slugs straight out of the can but sprayed with silicone it drops to a Std Dev of 1.8 - same average speed but much tighter range.

I'm not yet a very good shot but my group was larger with the treated pellets - opposite of what I expected -

I am shooting outdoors so there are never two exact same strings.

At 25M and 50M these are shooting interchangeably with the Diablo Match King Heavy MK II pellets - which are averaging 870 FPS at 33.95 gr. and a Std Dev of 2

Shooting an Avenge-X 25 cal at 175 bar and "5 turns plus two nudges" on the hammer spring

Thoughts or suggestions?
