PCP Rifle  SOLD WTS Rapid Air Weapons HM 1000x in .30. $1500 - sold

I'm selling a Rapid Air Weapons HM 1000x in .30 that I didn't use this year. It has been holding air for over a year, so there are no leaks.

It comes with two magazines and the standard and larger moderator and baffles.

I am asking $1500 for a quick sale. I accept PayPal (I have a business account).

The .25 barrel for this gun is also up for sale here for $250.

It ships to anywhere in the CONUS. You'd pay shipping (after we talk about insurance, speed of shipping, etc.). I am in 44718 if you want to estimate shipping.

Warning-pcp airguns are not a hobby, they are an addiction.

I anguished nearly a month trying to make a final selection for my first pcp air rifle. I set a $1000 limit on myself , that was what I could use to get the rifle itself , tax and must have accessories were not included in the 1k limit. I choose the AEA megalodon, I probably drove a particular owner of an airgun shop about half crazy most likely going back and forth between several different models he had in stock. So far at least I’m ecstatically happy with the AEA rifle to spite a few horror stories I’ve heard since purchasing the Meg. I got a scope that was reduced in price that was the wrong choice for me personally for that specific rifle. It did however go with my .17 hmr very well though. i got a small tuxing compressor that I used nearly every single day since the day it was delivered. A screw in the top bearing of the linkage that connects electric motor to compressor unit started coming loose causing linkage to bind and break motor shaft. A Yong Heng and a 6.8 liter carbon fiber bottle with a fill regulator and 36 inch braided stainless steel high pressure fill line was my solution to the broken tuxing. I put a lpvo type scope on the rifle since I didn’t like the one that came with it. Something discontinued made by Bushnell, it works well on the rifle. All that isn’t counting the ammo I’ve already went through, I started plinking with .495 round lead ball ammo and I can do that for .12 cent a shot which isn’t bad. Oh, and I can’t leave out the Lead Sled 3 I got the other day , not for recoil of course, just wanted an adjustable good solid something to hold the rifles when zeroing or shooting groups. I will say when I was assembling the new lead sled I was having doubts it was going to do what I wanted it to do. I found a 25 pound barbell weight to go on the sled as it was designed to use barbell weights, placed that on it and was impressed at how solidly it holds whatever rifle you place in it. I had to get a decent bore sight because of all the scope switching around. once I swore to myself I would never buy or use a laser range finder, guess what I own now….a Hawke 800LRF. I have never added all that up and probably won’t so I don’t have to know how much I’ve put into this by now and it’s not even been 6 months since I placed that first order. I’m having too much fun now to worry about how much it’s costing, that would just ruin part of the fun, who needs savings anyway. I think it’s time to add a smaller caliber rifle now, something regulated I think. I think I’m going to go with 25 caliber and that is about how much I know at this minute. I would consider anything anyone on here has some experience with and found reasonably accurate and dependable. If I start randomly looking at them I will never decide on just one of them. So I figured this was probably the best place to get recommendations based on actual ownership and not a desire to sell. Any input will be much appreciate. Happy Shooting!

A surprise to be sure....but a welcome one

Got up extra early this morning to get work done before church as we have a couple guys off. I figured I was gonna be there an hour and a half before sunrise I would check to see if there were any rats. I didn't see one anywhere. So that's cool I bought a NV scope for shooting rats lol. Anyways I went and checked in our barn as no one was there at that time. Had at least 30 pigeons in there. Turned my Shorty down to 12fpe with 20 18gr JTS and went to town. I recovered 14 but for sure hit 16 all in about 3 minutes. I need to do a new setting on my Zulus for such close shooting. 5-12yds would be my guess on longest shots and had to aim real high and some I just hit the rafters below them at first. But they were in a panic in there flying in circles as it was so dark outside the barn they wouldn't leave. If I had more pellets on me I would have gotten quite a few more. So while i might not have found any rats i learned a better time to go to the barn and take out the pigeons.

RAW Microhunter Airstripper tuning

Hi All
I have a RAW HM1000x microhunter fitted with a DONNYFL RYU with 2 sections fitted. I am finding it hard to tune the Airstripper to get consistent groups. I have been hitting the same hole 3 or four times then i get a number of fliers before they walk back to the original POI.
Any tips would be gratefully received

FX  Saber Tactical Impact rail - why?!

Hi.

Can anyone describe me what is the purpose of Saber Tactical Impact rail other than a fancy look? I can see one can clamp a barrel using that rail but... it is not the case. Just take a look.

IMG_20240922_123614~2.jpg

The more torque I apply, the more the insert is pressed against the wall of the rail, not the barrel.

I do not understand that.

What is your experience with that? Have you observed any change in the accuracy?

Thanks.

FX  Problem with FX CF Sleeves

I ordered a CF sleeve for my .22 600mm Impact Barrel and it doesn't fit in the Barrel Housing. Has anyone else run into this? I contacted the vendor, who immediately sent me another one and it doesn't fit either! The Barrel Liner fits fine inside the CF Sleeve, but the CF Sleeve is too large to fit in the steel Barrel Housing.

I measured both CF Sleeves I received and the outside diameter of the sleeve varies from 11.72mm at one end to 12mm at the other. The second measured 11.93mm at one end and 11.97mm at the other. The inside diameter of the steel Barrel Housing measures 11.66mm!

I have these CF Sleeves on other barrels and had no problems with them fitting at all. Everything else on the .22 barrel fits just fine, so I suspect maybe a bad batch of .22 CF Sleeves were sent to vendors. Just curious if anyone else has received a .22 600mm CF sleeve that did not fit in their Barrel Housing? Thanks for the help.

Why put a gauge on the plenum?

I have 6 PCPs. One unregulated. One regulated with a gauge on the plenum and on the air storage cylinder. Four with a gauge on only the air storage cylinder. I admit I like having the gauge on the plenum because it lets me know where the regulator is set making tuning a bit easier or at least more certain. But if I shoot the 4 without a gauge down to where the guns come off the regulator and look at the tank gauge I know where the regulator is set too. Just takes longer.

The disadvantages of the additional gauge are several. It costs a little more and getting it on the gun takes some additional engineering and may take more parts than just the gauge. Neither the plenum or the bulk storage gauge on my guns seem to be terribly accurate. If you shoot down to the level of the plenum gauge on the bulk storage gauge and your velocity is consistent you are left with indecision. Which gauge is at fault? What does it mean about filling the gun and setting the regulator?

But another more subtle issue it can create is the users may complain about regulator creep. Every time I see this complaint I wonder if the user is complaining because their velocity is changing or because the gauge doesn't seem to read the same as it did when they last looked at it. I'm thinking it more probably the latter. If the velocity is not changing how much difference does it make if the regulator did move a little? How do you know it isn't just the gauge? Remember they are not expensive ultra precise measurement tools.

I'm ambivalent about having two gauges. I see advantages of the extra gauge but I also like relatively small light guns. If it seems like the additional gauge is not there because they were trying to make the gun smaller or lighter or less complicated I am OK with it.

Opinions?

New Crosman M1 Carbine full auto

Just picked this up yesterday for $140 and I’ve got to say they really knocked it out of the park with this one.

So far as replicas go, it’s pretty meh. It’s not terrible, but it’s got a plastic stock, no magazine and it just doesn’t really look or feel that close to the real thing.

So far as just being an awesome BB gun goes, it’s spectacular. By BB gun standards it’s a tack driver. I shot a 5 round burst into an apple at about 8 yards and every shot hit and I was hitting 2” hanging targets at 15 yards with hardly any misses. It’s got great sights. It’s lightweight and points well. It gets a ton of shots from 2 CO2 cartridges. It loads up extremely easily. You fill the main reservoir with BB’s, 300 capacity, and then pull out the magazine rod which allows BB’s to fall into the internal magazine. You then push the magazine rod back in and you’re ready to go. The whole process only takes a few seconds.
That internal mag may not look authentic, but it sure makes loading BB’s quick and easy and unlike most similar BB guns you don’t have to buy any extra expensive magazines.

I can really only knock it for how heavy the trigger is and the overall cheap, plasticky look and feel of it.

Other  XM1 .177 or Akela .177

Hey y'all! I'm pretty familiar when it comes to these two platforms albeit in different calibers.

I owned an Akela .22 for a year or two and took thousands of iguanas, and I have an XM1 in .25 of which I have taken atleast a hundred iguanas now and both are really nice platforms.

My questions is for those who have had their hands on both or either, of you could chike in on your experiences regarding shot count, pellet choice, max/min fpe l, noise, as well as out of the box experiences and if either gun has left you wanting more.

Yes, I have read the pages of members cutting the hammer spring on the Akela for a better shot cycle. And I have read through the comments regarding the XM1 being able to shoot JSB slugs.

NOTOS 1 ...KITTY 0

I was in the kitchen cooking then looked out the window and saw my cat (actually kind of a wild cat that hangs around) crouched down at the corner of the shed stalking something. Grabbed the Notos, cracked the kitchen door open slightly, and stole the kitty's kill. Dropped without a flinch :)
I think the cat was so focused on the bird to the left, he didn't notice the bird I dropped on the right at first. Easy snack for him.
