FX  What happens if you shoot an FX with the tank pressure below the regulator pressure?

I have no intention of doing that, but my FX dynamic came with all kinds of warnings to not let the tank pressure go below the regulator. My question is what would happen if I did? Would it damage the regulator? Is it dangerous in some fashion?

Sorry if its a dumb question, I am an airgun noobie.

Thank you!!

A couple of generic questions about Dot sights...

I was casually considering a Red Dot sight for my pistol, guess that my wife noticed me viewing the videos and gifted me one for Christmas.

Don't have a clue about the Dot sights. Since my questions are general in nature I thought I'd post in the General Discussion area rather than Pistols or Optics sections.

So some help please...

The general recommendation is to mount the Dot sight as far forward as possible for best field of view. Tried both, don't see much difference. The forward location exaggerates my wobbling, would it be better to mount directly over my hand to minimize the motion?

I notice that changing head or hand position a little bit moves the reticle all over the place but the reticle to barrel relationship appears to remain (relatively) constant. How critical is head/hand position? Would I be better off mounting the Dot sight on a rifle?

Seems that the Dot sights are designed for quick acquisition of man-sized targets, in low light, at very short range... like intruders in the house 😬 Are the Dot sights suitable for head-shots on chipmunks at 15 feet or should I stick with iron sights?

Suggestions/recommendations/comments please!

So, mount far forward or at the back?

Question of the Day/Week Which Gun Case Size, Safe do you prefer (pictures & Special AGN Coupon) UPDATED w/AGN Coupon

TopGun-Airguns.com just brought out a line of Storage Devices for Airguns, and Firearms for Rifle and Pistols in the form of Gun Cases, Personal Safes, and Commercial Safes. They can be found here: https://www.topgun-airguns.com/product-category/gun-storage/

We THINK (we try to THINK now and then) that the most popular sizes for rifles would be either of the 2 listed below. Both units are under $200 and have wheels, and TSA compatible.

Since there are over a dozen sizes of cases we carry, I am kindly requesting your assistance in determining which will be the most popular. By your replying here not only will you be helping us, but anyone who responds here will also get 10% off any unit. (shipping will be a flat fee of $29 for each unit). This is a limited time offer.
Use coupon code TGAG-Gun_Cases_AGN

So, help a brother out and tell us which size you like, which airgun you would like to put in it (or already have to put in it) and get a 10% discount off the gun case. We'll even bundle with any airgun and save you even more!

The direct link to only rifle cases is here: Thank you everyone for your assistance. Have a great weekend and 73!T

Today's question is: Which Gun Case is your favorite size? What gun would you want to put in it?

motivation

There are a few basic routines I have when I'm finished with other "adult" obligations like work or chores ETC. I will sit and look up a few things online, a few sites I enjoy and find useful for information or pleasure like poker or fishing videos and of course AGN. One thing AGN does for me is keep me motivated to shoot my air guns. After a session of paging through the forums I get the desire to pull out one or more of my air guns out of the safe and send some lead down range. Thanks to all members for this inspiration.

N/A  Best value PCP?

What would you vote as the best airgun that you get the most out of it for the money?

Seems anymore PCPs are just getting more and more expensive. What used to be top of the line when i got in this sport a decade ago was like $1700-$1800 and good mid priced was around $1000. Now it seems mid proced PCPs are $1700-$1800 and your top of the line are $3000+.

Personally I think guns like the Taipan Vet2, Uragan 2, Vulcan 3 and BRK Safari are some of your best bang for the buck guns out there today. They seem to perform 95% of the way of those high end guns do but without the bells and whistles and for decent prices still.

New FT rifle /scope suggestion

Hello all,

New member here in the greater Sacramento area. I started getting into FT shooting back in the late 80’s in SoCal. I bought a used Daystate CRX from a Yellow Forum member but realized I didn’t have the time to dedicate myself to the sport.

Fast forward 40 some years and now I have the time and money to enjoy this sport. I don’t know where to start looking for rifles and scopes.

I'm interested in shooting PCP in the Open class.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Bill

Traditional Rifle  SOLD *****SOLD*****Weihrauch HW55M

***SOLD***SOLD***SOLD***SOLD***SOLD***

I have two match air rifles to sell. I have only had them for a couple of years now and have not shot either one very much (hence the sale). Unfornately I can't tell you much about their histories.

I can say that both of these rifles were users and though they are both in what I would consider to be very good to excellent condition, neither one is perfect so if you are looking for perfect you are going to have to keep on looking...

The first one is a very nice Weihrauch HW55M. Beautiful gun that shoots very well. Bluing and steel parts are excellent as is the stock. The worst cosmetic defect is a small scratch on the right side of the barrel (see photo). Rifling looks excellent. Just a pleasure to shoot this gun. Comes with the Weihrauch diopter sight as shown, but I do not have any extra inserts for the front sight (has a concentric circle in it presently). There are some very small indents in the wood but they really don't show in the photos. Asking $800 shipped CONUS

Other  New to PCPs

Hello AGN, it seems like this is the most active place to discuss PCP and airguns so I have come here for some advice.

I am considering getting one of the listed PCPs: Gamo Arrow, Diana Stormrider, Beeman Commander, Stoger XM1.

My primary use will be to shoot rats in my suburban back yard. They have learned what traps, so I need a different way to remove them.

As you can tell from the listed guns I am looking for cheap, these are pretty much all the least expensive while still somewhat decent PCPs (for my intended purpose) you can purchase. I don't have enough time to go out target shooting, thus im not willing to invest lots of capital in this project.

Ideal PCP would be first and foremost QUIET. I picked up a crosman vantage plus break barrel locally and tried it out, then returned it. The action was much louder than the pellet hitting my target. While most of my neighbors probably wont care, they don't need to know what im up to in my own yard, so Quiet is the most important feature im looking for.

Ideally this is what im looking for, in order of importance.
QUIET
0.22
$200-$250 ish or cheaper
Hand pumpable, no big tanks
reasonable accuracy

Hopefully some of you have first hand experience using some of the above listed PCPs and can comment on how loud they are. This seems to be the hardest thing to determine from reading reviews and watching youtube videos. Yes, choosing the proper ammo can make a difference.

I am also open to other options as long as they are easily purchased.
A bit of background, I am comfortable with firearms, own a few, and have gone through one of the Jr. rifle target programs when younger.
As far as air guns, I have a pump BB gun from my youth that will not end a rat, so we need something with more power.
Thanks for your comments on this topic!

  • Question
Bench Rest Accuracy with tuner (Heliboard)

Hi. I am fairly new to Airguns and have recently became a member of the Airgun Nation website. I am really learning a lot about my PCP and shooting in general. I am recently retired and thought bench rest would be a great and expensive hobby to take up some of my down-time.

I have attached a couple of paper targets (1”) I shot at an indoor range at both 25/50 yards with my .22 Redwolf standard. I am wondering if it would be worth it to buy a tuner to hopefully tighten up the groups or maybe I just continue to work on my shooting techniques which will hopefully improve my accuracy. I understand wind will be an additional element I will need to deal with, but just would like your thoughts in general regarding the tuning aspect. Thank you.

Traditional Rifle  NLA Feinwerkbau FWB 300S

I am selling two match air rifles. I've only had them for a couple of years and have not shot them much, hence the sale. The other one is a HW55M in a separate post.

This is a FWB 300S in very nice condition. The gun shoots well with a slight twang. It will come with a complete (uninstalled) Maccari tune kit. The gun shoots well and I got the kit just to have it "in case" so I would not need it and not be able to get one. Anyway, the gun shoots well, very accurate as one would expect. The steel and bluing are in very good condition. The wood has some very small indents as would be expected given its age and there is some very mild flaking of clear coat near the recoil pad. The diopter site works well. I do not have any extra inserts for the front sight. The rubber eye cup is missing the rear portion but still functions well. A very nice shooter and a pleasure to use. I only wish I had the opportunity to use it more!
