  • Question
I have made a serious mistake, I need advice on how to proceed without anyone getting hurt. seriously.

I just bought a fill adaptor from the dive shop, i brought my fittings and he made one for me from an old regulator to fill my rifle. It wasn't until i got to about 200 bar that I realized we forgot to put a pressure relief valve on it. now the probe is in the fill port and the tank is full to 225 bar and the scuba tank valve is closed. but no way to release the line pressure. what do i do now? I know, I feel like a complete Idiot. I know better. I dont know how to safely discharge the line to remove the probe from the fill port. please advise.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Air Force condor w/.20cal & .25cal LW-barrels plus BNIB Altaros Regulator $295.00

This is a Gen 1 with some Talon Tune upgrades and moderator. Comes with .25cal and .20cal LW barrels, both are accurate. One tank w/ Hi-flo valve and one tank with low-flo valve and a BNIB Altaros regulator. Some typical signs of use. Last time I was shooting in .25cal was pushing 25gr at 1050. Install the Reg, will be less fps but more shots per fill. Have fun with both calibers!!

$295 + actual shipping to your location.

PCP Rifle  NLA Taipan Veteran Long .22

Taipan Veteran Long .22 probably the most accurate airgun I've owned. Tuned at 920fps with JTS 18gr it's a laser beam. Story behind this one I bought it used. Didn't shoot good at all. Found clipping so drilled the end cap out and no good. Noticed the shroud was bent. Got a shroud for a Taipan Short and worked great. However still issues. Found a poor crown. Recrowned it and now it my best shooter. Few pressure marks on the stock, some imperfections in the finish on the airtube but otherwise nice condition. Has everything it comes with from factory, 3 total mags, 2 mag holder and cheek piece. $900 OBO shipped to your door.

N/A  Skout Evo vs Daystate Red Wolf

I'm still trying to decide on a "big purchase" new gun. I'm shopping .22 caliber and I want a versatile gun that is precise up to 100 yards.

I like the Evo a lot on paper, as I do most of my shooting at a range with benches. But I'm not sure I want to completely give up the idea of other types of offhand shooting due to its weight. I do like buying from an American company, especially if the USA starts trade wars with Europe. I like how Skout builds their guns for ease of service and repair.

And now the Red Wolf. I've actually held one (unlike the Evo) and it's very comfortable in the hand. I hear it's very accurate as well. I like how it adjusts automatically to changing bottle pressure. I don't know if the Evo does this. What I'm not crazy about is being stuck with one caliber on something this expensive. The accessories are also pricey - I like spare magazines.

I'd love to get some buying advice from those who have owned one or both of these. Thanks!

Strange Hawke issue.

Curious if anyone else has ever experienced this. I mounted an Airmax 6-24×50 That had been on my TX for about 5 months. Won a couple matches with it. I took it off about 4 months ago because I wanted a dot reticle so I replaced it with a Sightron STac. I pulled the Airmax out of the gun safe and mounted it on my recently purchased LGU. I found the parallax knob almost impossible to move and it would not adjust. Now 2 days later I was putting it in the box to return and much to my surprise I found the parallel knob moves freely and works as designed. Crazy.

.177 pcp card cutting accuracy pistol??

Hello. Several members are into cutting cards with a pellet. I have had good consistent "luck" with my talon ss in 25 cal and my P Rod in 22 cal. But my Beeman 2027 in .177 will cut a card maybe 1 out of ten shots. I am shooting at 30 feet. I practice shooting at vertical lines with a sharpie and then cut cards. My question is what .177 pcp pistol do you have that will consistently cut a card in half? ( See photo ) I am considering a crosman 1701P? Anyone out there with a 1701 that will cut cards? Any recommendations? Thank you. Dan

Daystate  Daystate Revere .177 regulated tuning

Hey Guys! I bought a used Daystate revere .177 regulated from AoA. It shoots great, and overall a nice rifle to use. That being said, I do have a question about the shotcount. The regulator on mine is set to 160 bar, and from 250 bar, I get probably ~45 shots until I hit about 150 bar. (untested, need to actually do a shotcount one of these days). The numbers from AoA when they sent me the rifle: 5 shots, spread of 7fps, SD 2, minimum fps of 850 and max of 857, with a 10.3gr pellet. So about 16.52 to 16.8fpe.

I was wondering if this is infact, factory specs, or if I need to adjust the regulator or whatnot. My goal is to have ~19.5fpe with maximum shotcount. I feel that the regulator is a bit high for this powerlevel, but this is my first regulated gun.

If anyone has any experience tuning a revere regulated, please feel free to reach out :)

Reading the wind

What I’m hoping to create is a discussion about how different people successfully read wind speed to adjust their POA around the KZ. This is a huge part of improving someones score.

Seems like there are a crazy amount of variables. In my backyard alone the wind has weird swirling and shifting patterns that make successfully calling a shot a real challenge. I’m considering throwing out smoke grenades; but seriously …

Are you relying on grass movement?
Your windicator attached to your gun?

what’s your method ??

Tuning  Help with Impact M4 700mm Tune

Hey everyone. I’m really struggling with my rifle and was hoping for some pointers. Feeling very frustrated and discouraged here but trying to remain hopeful.

Impact M4
700mm
.25 cal
Shooting 33.95 grain JSB Diablo Mark II pellets
Element Nexus Gen 2 optic
Impulse Air 1350 moderator

I’m having a hard time with finding a good tune. Don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or if there’s something wrong with this rifle.

This is my second Impact M4. The first one had an extreme spread of over 36. @Utah-Airguns was VERY helpful (Justin Jacobson himself even got involved to help me) and were able to confirm that they could replicate the issue on their end, but couldn’t understand why it was happening. After shipping it back to them twice and weeks of testing, they ended up just giving me an entirely new rifle to replace it. This current one has an extreme spread of 16. Do you guys think that’s still a problem or does that sound about right? I’ve now shot about 1000 rounds through this one.

At this point I’m starting to feel very frustrated and defeated with the whole process. I’ll get an impressively tight 5 shot group at 50 yards, and then the next group immediately after will be over an inch even though I made no adjustments on my end. I feel like I’m just wasting pellet, time, and money.

Does anyone have a suggested tune or a speed I should try starting off with? I feel like 888fps is good but I can’t get it to stay there since it jumps up or down so much. Any other suggestions on what to try?

(I’m cleaning every 300-ish shots, keeping my fill pressure above the reg, can confirm my parallax is set correctly, not letting anything touch the barrel unless I’m cleaning it, and wind is around 3mph or less)

At first I tried:
Reg - 120
Valve - 4.5
Macro - 16
Micro - 15 clicks under 4
Aiming for 888fps
Extreme Spread was 16
Standard Deviation was 4

It was great at first, but then the following day was a scattershot for no clear reason. So now after hours of trial and error I’m trying:
Reg - 115
Valve - 4.25
Macro - 14
Micro - 3.75
Aiming for 860-ish fps
ES and SD same as above

Is there a tune and/or speed that others have found works for them?

A friendly little Craigslist ad.

I try and scan through Craigslist every few days and occasionally I spot a bargain. Today I found this. Decent looking guns, but I think I'm going to pass on this one.

Accessories  SOLD Long Gun Work-Station/Cradle

In addition to making Rifle Totes, I also make Work-Station Cradles. These are great for working on or displaying your rifle. I make every part, including the 1.25" diameter threaded maple "bolt" that holds the rifle's butt against the cradle. The cradle is more adjustable than any similar item made of wood. The bolt support slides on two dowels forward and back. A grip support also slides in a slot to provide an excellent fit for whatever rifle you are using. All support pieces are covered with very thick, real leather. You can see from the picture how thick the leather is and how I "wrap" the corners to protect your rifle.

This one pictured is made of 100% oak except for the threaded bolt (oak threads would chip unlike very fine grained maple). The dimensions are:
  • 23.5" long
  • 9" wide
  • 8" tall
  • Weight is about 15 pounds.
  • This one has spent .22 rimfire hulls added for accents along the tray rail.
I ship quick and secure. I prefer PayPal but other forms of payment are acceptable.

Price is $175 including shipping.

Airforce  Pinty Scopes Now Sells PCP'S: AirForce Copy!

Pinty Scopes has 3 pcp's for sale for $279 msrp, and $260 shipped on ebay.
The wood stock long rifle and bullpup are unregulated SPA, but I could not find a manufacturer for the regulated AirForce Air Rifle model (checked SPA and Artemis).
I always wanted an AirForce but couldn't justify the price for such an odd duck just for backyard shooting.
If the copy turns out to be a winner, I will be happy.
