RAW Rapid R.A.W. HM1000X Inconsistent Today - Indoors

I went to an indoor range for the first time today - wanted to shoot with no wind. Set up at 50 yards with N50 practice targets. After sighting in I was hitting 10's and X's for most of the first 17 shots. The next two shots were almost outside the box and number 20 scored a 5. From that point on it was literally hit or miss with another 5, then 9, a wide 5, then 10, 10. Why in the world would this happen? Speeds were consistently in the 865~870 fps range. I'm shooting a .25 caliber R.A.W HM1000X (Rapid Air Worx) in an MPA frame. By the way, pellets were FX 34 grain weighed and sorted and also AEA Center Punch 33.9 grain.
Two more things - I believe R.A.W. sends these out at about 910~920 fps which seems too fast for Diabolo pellets so I tuned it back to 870-ish fps. Any thoughts on that as well? Also, adjusting the hammer spring has almost no affect on pellet speed. I know it's used for minor adjustments but fully out to fully in barely makes a 1-2 fps difference - bad hammer spring?
TIA for comments.
