Cell phone no

It has come to my attention over the week end that T- Moble is blacklisting/ blocking any company offering shooting supplies, air and powder burners. companies like Midway, Airgun Depot, Guns international. The sad thing is I can go to amazon find the same item from the same co. and not have a problem that i am aware of right now. My carrier of choice is Tello , but Tello is operating on T- Moble ( used to be on Sprint, but T -Moble bought Sprint a while back) any one else having this problem with cell systems.? ( same kind deal the credit card co/ banks were/are pulling. )

Taipan  Taipan Veteran 1 issue with magazine? EDIT: It's not the magazine

Has anyone had issues before with a Taipan Veteran magazine during break-in period?

I was re-zeroing my Taipan Veteran 1 standard in .25 caliber earlier tonight. The gun wouldn't group with the magazine's worth of pellets that I shot. At least an inch at 33 meters.

The gun is still relatively new. According to my logs, only 110 shots so far. I pulled a few patches through the barrel when I first received it a few months ago.

I was also using the other magazine that is essentially still new because the gun comes with 2 magazines and I have only used the other one. I noticed that the rounds were a tad bit harder to chamber compared to the other magazine.

I pulled some patches through the barrel until it was clear. I shot another magazine's worth of pellets and it was grouping again. This time though, I was using the other magazine that I normally use.

Has anyone experienced this before? I do feel that the Veteran magazines do require some breaking in as the previous Veteran's I've owned all became much smoother with time in regards to the magazine and breach interaction. I never had a magazine though that didn't shoot well while it was still breaking in. What I'm thinking is happening is that since the magazine is still new, the indexing grooves machined on to it are still very tight. This might be causing some slight misalignment with the gun's indexing mechanism which causes the magazine's holes to not perfectly align with the breach opening.

Beeman  King of Budget PCP Accuracy.

Many a manufacturer and journalist claim to have made or reviewed 'The King of Budget PCP's'.
Depending on what you are after, there are many to choose from.
But what about the most accurate pcp for the least amount of money?
An air rifle that can shoot as good or better than shooter behind the trigger?
For me, this is an easy one: the Beeman qb Chief single shot.

Starlings on the farm

Retired Sheriff West has a farm just outside of town. He now leases his pastures to local cattle farmers. but he keeps his barn and mancave that are full of everything he has gathered and hoarded over the years. It's awesome to nose around in all that old stuff. He has a 20' x 20' walk in cooler that serves as his mancave. It's set up with all the kitchen amenities for cooking, a large gathering table and big screen TV. Before most of them passed on, many of the local farmers and politicians would gather there on Sunday mornings for breakfast.
I met Charles through my good friend Killer (R.I.P.) and he accepted us Yankee Rednecks (as they called Betty Lou and I) straight away.
Charles enlisted Betty Lou to clean the mancave and me to do little rewiring and Starling patrol. He has Martin houses and the Starling try to dominate. We went out this morning to do such things.
I wanted to take the .25 Avenger but Buck Rail forgot to include the stock tube in the conversion kit and that part won't be here until tomorrow so I took the Hatsan Flash QE .22.
I set up a small folding shooting table just inside the shadow of the barn looking out at 5 or 6 martin house poles. Action was really slow. The first group was 3 birds. I took aim and feathered one but they all flew off. 20 or so minutes later a single landed and I center punched it. Another 30 minutes and another came in... it went down too.
By then Betty Lou was worn out from cleaning and wanted to go get something to eat and go home.
I called Charles to update him on what we had done and to tell him we would be going back out on Tuesday. He said we should go later in the day. That's when the Starlings are much more active.
No pics this time but I'll get some next trip.

N/A  Uragan 2? Shot count etc

I’m new to the whole PCP air rifle game and looking for my first gun. I’ve looked at all the brands and the Uragan 2 is looking like a winner but there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of info on it.
I want a gun in .22 for taking down rabbits, hares and possums and from what I’ve seen most PCPS ‘s would fit the bill. The thing that I really want to know is what to expect regarding shot count. If I was to shoot say 21g slugs at 950ish, what should I expect? Is there some way of working it out?
Thanks

Skout  This Will Do Nicely

The two week deep freeze has subsided and today the winds unexpectedly calmed late in the day so I got out to get back on the Evo .22.

Very happy with the way this gun shoots the JTS 22.07’s

Shot at 50 yd and before packing it in, the winds died to nothing so tried a group at 100 yd. For pellets at this distance……Yep, this’ll do.
Bit of reg creep though…speeds gradually increase by about 10 fps over the course of a magazine or two. I‘ll have to troubleshoot that.

50 yd, 5 shots each, slight L to R breeze

5 shots at 100 yd.

FX  impact tune - bottom up or top down?

apologies if this is covered somewhere but I cant find it, seems there are at least 2 different methods for tuning the impacts and i'm wondering what most people use

1, what I'll call bottom up (start hammer and reg low and go up):
reg set low
hammer set low
valve open around 4
increase hammer till no increase in fps then stop, increase reg and start increasing hammer again till no increase in fps- continue till you hit target fps. then close the valve to the point it drops fps about 5 fps or so.

2, top down (hammer full on and then reduce)
reg set low
hammer set to max
valve wide open
increase reg pressure till your about 20 fps above target fps. then reduce hammer spring till fps drops by about 10 fps (you are at the knee). then close valve till fps drops another 10 and now you are right on target

I always use top down mainly because it seems easier adjusting 1 thing at a time but wondering if I should try bottom up?

I am also seen people fine tune fps with hammer and some with the valve - but maybe i'll start another thread on that.....

How to zero a FFP scope

Hi all,

I just got my first focal plane scope Athlon Midas Tac due to readings that it doesn't matter which magnification you're on, one doesn't need to do hold overs like SFP scopes. My question is, does it matter which distance and magnification I zero the scope since there is no hold overs to worry about? Not sure how this works. And it's raining cats and dogs here so I can't experiment to understand the concept.

Thanks,

N/A  .177 for slugs (primarily at least)?!

So whenever I pick the cal for a new rifle, I don’t even consider .177. I mean, there is whole countries out there being sad about the fact that that’s what they’re stuck with… I’ve got plenty of space to plink so why cripple myself (or so I thought… :)).

Yet, I find myself thinking about a .177 more and more due to “some” people’s influence (not looking at anyone in particular @JaceSpace1369 @RabbitofCaerbannog)… I am almost caving in so maybe talk me out of it? If you want to talk me (even deeper) into it that’s fine as well, ideally with a recommendation for a rifle in this case :) Since it’ll be an experiment of sorts for me I’d probably want to get a used medium tier one first to see how I like it, should shoot slugs though since I’d like to use it for small critters (besides plinking)… Thanks in advance!

Traditional Rifle  SOLD New Air Arms TX200

This is a new TX200 full length .177, right hand rifle, with a nicely figured walnut stock.

Bought this locally from a guy who won this at an FT match. However, he only shoots PCP’s, so he sold this to me for $650 a couple months ago.

I pulled it out of the packaging and put it on my indoor workbench and had intentions of putting a Vortek kit in it. But I wound up getting a tuned TX200HC, leaving me no reason to keep this. As such, I took photos of it and put it back in the packaging and now listing it here.

Just looking to get my money back out of it. These are $880 plus tax currently. Selling for $650 cash firm. That’s just over 25% off on a brand new gun.

Only looking to do a local sale in Ft. Worth, TX area, as I don’t have a second box for this and don’t have time to drive around to attempt to find one.

You can message me on here or get a faster response via text at 817-903-11sevenfour

N50 in flippy wind

IMG_4719.png
IMG_4720.jpeg

I got a chance to shoot a card before dinner yesterday with my slug gun. The wind was far from ideal but there was nothing I could do about it. I saw maybe 5 mph every once in a great while....and gusts 15 plus about as often.

My strategy in conditions like these is to avoid the gusts and identify something that is repeatable and able to hold for at least a second or two.
I then set up for that condition and I'm ready to make slight, fast corrections based on what I see.

I'm not able to process 3 flags that are constantly changing....so I break it down to finding 2 that seem to be operating somewhat together. My front flag would not hang with the other two very often..,so I chose the far two flags as the ones to watch closely. If you have read about how I space my flags...then you know I space them so each flag will represent a zone of equal drift. If you space your flags evenly...the flags will not be representing equal influence. So with this system I'm hoping to get things 2/3 correct most times.

Anyway...I identified a condition where the far flags would push the tails out fully at about the 10:30 to 11:00 position. Because of the drastic change in jump that occurs as the wind crosses 12:00....I wanted to avoid anything too close to that position. The condition would usually fully flow out the tails for about 1-2 seconds. A fully extended tail is the only way you can really know what is most currently happening. If the tail is curled or fluttering....the wind has already changed and the tail or vane has not caught up to it yet. Sometimes it will curl and ,although, the vane never really changes direction...you can be sure the wind did temporarily.

A variation of this condition seemed to present itself about every 25-30 seconds on average. The variation was that of wind strength at the time...so I opted to make my wibdage adjustment the one I could quickly change on the fly. If the tails looked flatter...I jumped to the right and fired...if they were what I expected I stayed put. You get the idea. I started at the bottom left and went up in a serpentine pattern.

When I got to the top row...my condition seemed to disappear for good. I had given up on
It an had to take a few blind shots which were still ok but not optimal. Then all at once the condition showed back up for my last couple.

I actually still had a couple minutes left...but was getting a little panicked toward the end.

I'm sure there are a lot of ways to handle that type of wind...but that's how I did it.

TXED012 Tuxing compret

After chatting with some guys here on the form I'm set on getting this one from Walmart. It has water cooling , so I'm going to upgrade the pump right off the get go. It uses reg motor oil , and can fill a 6.8L tank in 47 min. Like the ones I have for sale on classifieds for $35. It also says a 500 cc bottle in 3 min.
Some guys said here they had it 4 years. Is there any reason I should or should not buy it ?.

  • Question
Introduction and first post.

Hello, my name is Mark and after a long absence from any air gun forums, James Kitchen and yellow, I decided to join AGN. As my handle says I live in the state of misery. I just bought a new Notos, scope and rings and am having problems getting a good picture in the scope. I have one inch high rings and they are still not high enough for a good sight through the scope. I have to push down so hard on the stock with my face that I cannot get any kind of accuracy out of it. Anyone have any suggestion on what i can do to solve this problem. Mark

Alkin compressor outsmarted me , Or just dumb

I adjusted alkin w-31 to a hair over 4800 PSI , Yep pulled my three great white tanks in the garage Nice day 65 degrees, no wind and no humidity,,,, Air all three tanks and all check out at 4800 PSI.,. About two hours pass before I get them in the house , Once in the house I check gauges , Yep the ole cool down thing.. All read 4500 just about perfect on all three.
Brain fart here , Now if I adjust to 5000 psi will I blow my pressure reliefs ???? If it's not one thing it's another with these dam guns yep should I shoot the flat heads or the domes tomorrow, Should I trade out that scope for a red dot just for kicks???? 177, 22, or 25 caliber tomorrow, Yep just another thing .

I have looked over the stock as closely as reasonable and the only thing I found that is worth mentioning is a minor nick (pictured with the red circle) which came that way from Talon Tunes.

Price is $235 shipped to continental USA with PayPal or Venmo.

Although I don't have much feedback here, I have 1,000+ positive feedback on eBay. Please message me there at CarnivoreGreens username and I will reply back to confirm feedback reputation.

FX  DRS classic vs pro?

Ive upgraded my .177 600mm drs classic and put on the shp plenum, .25 liner, Inlet and probe.
The hammer weight the classic came with (10g) did not manage to open the valve past 120bar. So I bought a tungsten hammer so I could push some 26gr slugs atleast 950+ with 130bar. Its super loud (with a mod) and I can see airsmoke coming out the barrel after a shot.
Is there some other parts that the pro has so I can get the speeds and shot count listed on fx website? I now the pro is 700, and I wait for the carbon tube to come soon.
As it is now I have no chance to push 33gr slugs at 950+

PCP Rifle  SOLD Taipan Veteran 1 Standard CZ barrel .22

Sold 2/16/2025 pending funds.

For sale is a like new Taipan Veteran 1 in .22 caliber with the red laminate stock. It comes with 3 .22 magazines and all the other hardware it came with in the box when I bought it such as the fill probe with quick disconnect and the single shot tray.

Regulator: The stock regulator on this gun is set to 130 bars. It is tuned at around 33.5 FPE

About the barrel: This gun comes with a .22 caliber CZ unchoked barrel. I have not confirmed for myself if the barrel is indeed unchoked but this information comes directly from an email conversation with Taipan. When I bought it, August 2024, Taipan has told me that all the current stock of Veteran 1's that Talon Tunes had at the time were all definitely CZ unchoked barrel. Again, this is the information that I was given so please take it as it is. I've only shot pellets through it at around 30 FPE and it is very accurate.

The gun is in very good condition. According to my logs, there is only 346 shots through it.

Please not that the anodizing on the barrel shroud and the air tube is the type that is very matte. As such it does pick up minor marks. I wouldn't call them scratches but they do not rub off with the hands. I wouldn't call them defects but it's just the nature of this type of anodizing. I've had 3 of this gun in different calibers and the finish were all the same. I'm just stating for full transparency.

Also, please keep in mind that even though is gun is in very good condition and I've looked it over to find any imperfections, you are still buying a used gun. Minor nicks and scratches are to be expected. I have looked over the gun as closely as reasonable and I have not found any that are worth mention.

Price is $1125 $1099 (or best offer) shipped to continental USA with PayPal or Venmo.

Although I don't have much feedback here, I have 1,000+ positive feedback on eBay. Please message me there at CarnivoreGreens username and I will reply back to confirm feedback reputation.
