N/A  HW95N .20

After 3 tins (750) of H&N 11.42 my HW95 has settled in nicely. Cocking is smooth and im getting a an SD of 1.7fps. Speed has dropped considerably from the first week but still a respectable 750fps average. This is my 3rd HW, 2nd 95 and 1st .20. This one seems to be the smoothest most accurate of the 3. I think I'll keep her.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Anschutz 9003 Premium S2

Selling my Anschutz 9003 Premium S2. Was my air rifle silhouette gun for a while and then was passed onto my daughter. Comes with two air cylinders. Dated 5/2008 and 9/2021. So one good one and one expired, though both hold air flawlessly. Tons of barrel and stick weights. Fill adapter, sight risers for rear sight, bipod, palm riser block and a few o rings. Gun is in great shape and shoots like a top tier Anschutz should. Asking $1500 OBO shipped for it all. Feel free to PM for more pics or to have any questions answered.

Tuning  No Hobby For Old Men

I'll be 76 later this month. I'm discovering that my patience is wearing thin maintaining PCPs and the associated tanks, fittings, and air compressors. I've always been self sufficient in servicing PCPs and equipment for them. The forums and Youtube are great tools for assisting users how to diagnose and fix most problems. However, it is inevitable that PCPs will develop leaks over time as o-rings harden and deteriorate, losing their ability to hold back high pressure air. In particular, I've found regulators to be a finicky and difficult item to rebuild and readjust to work after rebuilds. I enjoyed tinkering and got a sense of satisfaction when I could troubleshoot and solve my own problems without spending $$ for shipping, repairs, and dealer rebuild costs. Lately it seems I've spent more time chasing leaks and repairing PCPs than I do using them.

I'm going full circle in my shooting hobby interest. I love shooting sports but the savings in PCPs vs. firearms is less than it was when I started gravitating to air guns 25 years ago. Name brand PCPs are very pricy compared to firearm prices. Pellet and slug prices have increased to the point of losing their former price savings over rimfire rounds and reloading costs. The only disadvantage of powder burners is cleaning them after using them. But I have firearms that are 40 plus years old that don't need the rebuilds and servicing that PCPs inevitably require. I feel like the old sheriff Tommy Lee Jones at the end of No Country For Old Men. I'm tired of it all.

Resources  simple, lightweight, easily moveable target for = creating dope

Since in Field Target we are aiming small and hopefully missing small, I've been searching for a lightweight target hanger which will accommodate my target / dope profile.
I found this product on Amazon and yes it is PVC, BUT, I'm not shooting anywhere near the framework.... at least i hope not as winds that high wouldn't help me create solid dope anyway. I hung a truck mud flap in the frame and then a coroplast board on top of it using zip ties. Lastly i taped some 5x7" graph cards with 1/8" spacing on top. All centered so all good.

The second picture shows how i was originally placing the target prior to this, but, when the ground gets hard (drought) it's a tough plant.
I tried a simple cardboard box as well but learned that having an elevated target helped when the gun is benched during my ranging and initial shots placement verification process.

I'm considering finding a graphics person to make a upload-able file that i can take to some printer shop to print this dope / shot / target on some good quality card stock so i don't have to go through a cut and paste process. The little eye charts really help learn where your FT scope snaps in.

FedEx One Rate - Flat Rate Shipping

I just came across this method of shipping for the 48 contiguous states using FedEx. I realize everyone doesn’t like this courier service so it may not be for you. However, it is nice to have another option.

FedEx OneRate

I also don’t know what their policy is concerning airguns. For all other items this seems like a good option for packages 50lbs and under.

Comparing Element Titan 3-18x50 for field target against Sightrons and Athlon

I have 3 of these particular Element scopes with a price point of roughly $780.00

Element Titan 3-18x50 all FFP
2 are MOA
1 is MRAD

All utilized a 6” scope werks wheel for setup. All scopes and wheels setup in overcast conditions = intentionally.

The good = at 16 X you get a 290 degree usage on the wheels rotation for ranging 9.5 to 60 yards.

The bad = at 16 X like most all scopes, once you get to 40 yards focal point repeatability or “pop” is difficult
(you really have to work at it) and work it the same way every time. Some people refer to this as mushy because your focus points don’t snap or pop in.

Of note - to my 67 year old eyes, when compared to a new Sightron S6 MHFT @$1900.00 or a Athlon Heras SPR 6-24x56 @$750.00 or a Sightron S-Tac 4-20x50 @$700.00.
The Sightron (s) in general win clarity and crispy focal points at 10-35 yards; the Athlon with the smallest amount of wheel rotation/ spread is the more repeatable from 40-55 yards but requires some guess work because the lack of spread on the wheel; but overall the Element with practice is the best blend of near too far, but will require absolute user consistency.

If you own any of these scopes please share your experiences.

Webley Senior Information

I am new to this forum, so please forgive any indiscretions. I recently acquired a Webley Senior .22 (slant grip) in excellent condition. It appears mechanically sound, it cocks and fires smoothly, trigger pull is light and smooth and breaks cleanly. The barrel is mirror bright. The breach seal appears original or at least OEM and in good condition, from what I have recently learned, being black with the brass ring in the middle. in good condition. There appears to be a bit of leakage on firing...enough to lightly displace a piece of toilet paper laid over the breach when firing. The exterior finish is excellent, with no dings or scratches. Blueing is excellent, with a few very minor rust blemishes but no pitting. Screws are perfect.
The visible parts of the piston are clean and rust-free. The cocking mechanical mechanism is in good condition. I have two sets of grips, one red and one black. The red set is in good condition except for small chipping at the bottom back of both grips near the locator pins, but the grips are secure. The black set is in very good condition except for a very small chip out of the top back point of the left side grip.

I am interested in the value of this gun. ***** CLASSIFIED AD REMOVED**** Unfortunately, I am unable to post pictures here, but can provide pictures by email or text. As I find these forums to be difficult to use for communication, I would appreciate any assistance by email if that is possible. I will try to monitor this site for responses as well. Thank you for your help.

N/A  Lightest hand pump

I pump alot, and I hike alot. Sometimes bringing a buddy tank isnt on the menu. Over the years ive noticed the hand pumps ive bought have gotten lighter, and able to put out more psi. I'd say the various china 4 uncles pumps are light but i bet you guys know something even better.

What's the lightest hand pump on the market capable of 4500 psi?

N/A  PCP with Swappable Bottles/Reservoir

Hey been a while since I've last posted. I asked this question years ago but not sure if things have changed.

I saw the newly released Umarex Komplete. I really like the idea of being able to take the gun and a couple cylinders out to go shooting without having to bring a handpump, compressor, and/or bottle supply. However, I'm not 100% bought into the whole N2 cartridge. I'm worried that Umarex will be the only company with these N2 cartridge guns and then they stop making them and bam.... the Komplete turns into a paperweight. On the other hand, if it does well in the market, I'm sure Crosman will release N2 Cartridges which will help drive down the price of the N2 cartridges and there will be more of these guns on the market.... given these would not be for the enthusiasts with the FX Impact M4's. anyways.... getting off topic.

Is there any air rifles out there that have swappable air cylinders/bottles on the fly? Or ones that can be modified for being able to swap the bottles? Like for instance... would the Umarex Gaunlet 2 bottle accept one of those inline on/off valves that is super low profile and you twist to turn on/off. Then you'd just have to shoot the air out of the plenum and then you'd be able to swap bottles.

Thanks!!!

FX  I forgot how light the M3 actually is

I forgot how light the M3 actually is without all the addons. I took off all the cool addons this afternoon to start selling some stuff to get ready to purshase an M4.
I weighed it prior and it was 14.7 lbs.
After taking everything off but the scope it dropped down to almost 10. Wow what a difference.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I think im gonna go with a minimalist / light build on the m4.

Is it possible to have TOO MUCH gun??

Ok, here's the deal some of you know that I attempt to shoot ground squirrels, but I'm having quite a few that are hit disappear, and the ones that are killed, I'm seeing the projectile go right through them, now most are young ones so they don't have the bulk of an adult but instead of me chasing more power and more expansion, do you all think I should back off? I'm using .25 33.9gr pellets and 26gr slugs at 1040.

TIA
Hoggie
