JTS  My bartered for JTS Airacuda Max .22 Build

Since I shifted hobbies a bit from a year ago I am not in the same financial position to be unloading 10000 dollars on airgun setups lmao hence why I have been looking at budget setups. Well a friend of mine who's moving to a far less restrictive part of the country (so he can go back to PB'ers) did some old school bartering with me and I traded some mechanic work for his JTS Airacuda Max .22 scoped (west hunter 4-16 , not a bad scope actually), air supply setup, case, and ammunition. Win win for me , love using my automotive tools and have been on the fence of which way to go with airguns.

I am going to set this rifle up for 50 yard bench rest in Salem NY that a few other shooters I know frequent as its a dog friendly event and in a beautiful area. Also will be my plinker but also with its cost being so cheap, I want to have some fun and build it.

I plan to open up the ports, smooth the transitions, work on the hammer spring, and valve spring, and go from there. Target goal is a consistent 30-40 shot fill with 22.07 grain JTS pellets at 880 ish FPS with less than moa accuracy at 50 yards.

I have experience shooting this particular rifle as it was owned by a friend of mine, I actually modded it when he first got it and added an arca rail (see above thread).
There are a few items I'd like to have made though, id like an external plenum made/machined to take the place of the regulator gauge, 16cc-22cc will work perfect I think, also a few other small items if anyone has any good recommendations on who I could go to, I am all ears. EDIT: ALREADY FOUND A GUY AND WE ARE ALREADY WORKING ON MAKING A PLENUM FOR THIS.

The regulator on these rifles are actually super consistent so that will stay, the string shown is from the .25 I used to have, it was always insanely consistent, this .22 is no different (just can't find the strings we had anywhere) .

And here is a picture of it with my old .25

Filter to separate rubber mulch from pellets

Ever since I started making pellet traps filled with rubber mulch I've been wanting a good quick way to separate the mulch from the pellets. I made an improvement today using plastic fencing that has 8mm openings. It's about the right size to let pellets through without letting significant sized mulch pieces through. I made a 12x12 inch frame and stapled the wire to that. I then put it over a drywall bucket and poured some mulch in. It works well but I may staple some cardboard in the corners, the mesh is a bit big for the bucket. But the other issue is all the little debris comes through with the pellets. I just dumped the mess in an old saucepan and tried burning the debris off as the lead melted. That works but is smelly and takes awhile. Next time I will pit some water on the pellets and see if I can't reduce the amount of debris. But the filtering through the mesh works well and greatly decreases the volume. The picture has the filter, the trap, and a box of the filtered mulch.

FX  POI changes after a few shots - FX DRS

I am shooting 10.64 grain pellets at 840 fps with my Fx Drs .177, 500mm barrel, regulated at 110 bar. No matter what the Muzzle Velocity or pellet weight is, the POI keeps changing, mostly to the right (about 3-4 mildots @20meters) after 10-15 shots. Mostly after the main pressure gauge has dropped below 150 bar.
Is this normal with the drs, or is something wrong with my gun?

Barrel Karma Red Panda Bench

Hi guys, I'm interested in knowing if those edges at the end of the barrel crown, is normal in this type of barrel or is it the process that all the barrels go through when they are new?

This is a inner Bull Barrel for pellets, .30 Cal, 700mm, Karma Red Panda Bench Specs 2025, idk if this if normal in this kind of barrel, just want to ask of someone can help my question. Photo Attachment

PCP Rifle  WTS Western Sidewinder S Compact .25 **Price Drop for Quick Sale**

Hello everyone,

Today I am selling a HIGHLY sought after, Western Sidewinder S Compact in .25. I bought it from a fellow AGN member and after a few days of shooting it, I realized this gun isn't for me. There is nothing wrong with the air gun. However, when I received this, I did load the magazine and shoot it. It did clip the moderator (0DB) which per the previous owner is the stock moderator for the Sidewinder. I ended up taking it off and using my STO Sarissa which made it a lot more quiet (Backyard and Basement friendly ;)). The previous owner (Not his fault, but mine for not asking) did not mention some details but I would like to include it in this post below. I will also mention what's included in the package deal. NO SCOPE, NO SCOPE MOUNTS, AND NO BUBBLE LEVEL.

$1549 shipped CONUS. PayPal F&F. If you want to add insurance, let me know and I can add insurance at YOUR cost.
Trade: FX M4 Compact .22, feel free to send me trade offers

Western Sidewinder S Compact .25
300CC Omega CF bottle (On the gun)
One 15 shot magazine
3D printed sides to make the Sidewinder less skeletonized. However, there are still tiny strands in the "MLOK" holes from 3D printing that can be snipped and cleaned out to give it a cleaner look. I'm not sure if you can attach things to the "MLOK" holes.
3D printed cheek rest (OEM cheek rest included)
3D printed extended butt pad with bottom picatinny rail (OEM butt pad included)
3D printed (I think it's an arca rail) picatinny to arca rail adapter (Bottom picatinny is damaged. See photos)
3D printed foster fill port cap (Has to be fully removed to fill)
3D printed air gauge covers (Front at the CF bottle, rear & on the side of the stock, and one on the power wheel)
FX Grip (No OEM grip)
Shroud added by previous owner (I think the previous owner said it was a FX shroud that he cut)
Adapter for the shroud end of the barrel added which adds a 1/2 X 20 UNF thread so you can use any moderator with 1/2 X 20 UNF.
0DB Moderator (Clipped with my first shot. Re-tested, shoots fine with the 0DB moderator.)

50 yards 5 shot group pictures below using JTS Dead Center 23.59gr. Not all perfect groups but decent groups.

I think that's all. If there's anything else, I will edit this post.
AGAIN, $1549 shipped CONUS. Paypal F&F. If you want to add insurance, let me know and I can add insurance at YOUR cost.
NO SCOPE, NO SCOPE MOUNTS, AND NO BUBBLE LEVEL. Message me if you have any questions.
No trades at this time.

Am I the only one getting unwanted notifications?

I am getting notifications EVERY time a new thread is posted. How do I turn this off? I posted two threads in the forum feedback sub forum but got zero help there. Is anyone else getting this? It started a couple weeks ago and I just don’t need or want this info.

I am not following these people. Here is an example:

American Air Arms  Evol having cardiac arrest

New to me 15in Evol in .22… needed some work from the beginning and I though I got it there but this last thing is damn persistent…

It’ll shot a handful of shots or so at the speed I set it to (965fps with 18grain / 890ish with 22 grain), then 1 to 3 or so shots way slower, then back to set speed. Example:

IMG_5807.png

IMG_5808.png

This happens with any and all pellets I put through, 18gr, 22gr, 25gr doesn’t matter. With the 22 it’ll shoot 890, then 830-850, then 880 again. 25gr 840ish, then 800 and back up.

Spread was way worse when I got it. What I’ve done so far is: Set reg to 2,100psi, pulled hammer and spring, cleaned hammer channel properly, cleaned and polished hammer and spring, balanced hammer to reg at around 96.5-97% of max speed…

I’m almost guessing the reg is shot but, per gauge, holding pressure constant. Interestingly, it has the purple reg but based on the rest of the gun and serial it is a newer model and should have the blue reg, right?! The gun also sounds different when the slow shots occur, I can tell without looking at the chrony numbers… obviously also from POI… when it’s shooting as it’s supposed to it’s very accurate with the 18gr but the weird slow shots are all over so can’t trust it for now. Tried with different mods obviously but no change. The one on it right now is a Falx, which can go up to .30 so there shouldn’t be clipping.

Hoping the Evol fanbase has ideas ;) Thanks in advance!! Orings to rebuild the reg and basically the entire thing are on the way.

PCP Rifle  SOLD UMAREX NOTOS

Up for sale is my Umarex NOTOS in .22. And just like the other ones, In perfect condition. I probably put less than 100 pellets thru it and back to the gun safe. I’m selling all these guns for the same reason, no time to shoot them.

Comes in the factory box with all paperwork. 2 magazines cause I purchased an extra one when I picked up the gun from AoA. I might not have the single shot tray that came with it. (Might). I have to go thru my storage boxes and see if I can find it. That’s the only thing missing.

185 shipped in the Continental USA.

PayPal F&F, Zelle or Venmo as usual.

Another of those... please help me decide on a air rifle.

Hey yall, im wanting some advice from a group of far more knowledgeable people than I.
Im wanting to get a better quality airgun. Its main use will be hunting squirrels and shooting invasives around the property (starlings, euro sparrows, pigeons), and maybe rats around the barn. Target shooting is a 2nd priority.

Im torn. Ive wanted a pcp for a long time because of the accuracy. So on 1 hand, im considering a marauder. Relatively inexpensive, especially if I went used, easy to work on, lower pressure so easier to hand pump, fairly accurate.

Or getting a high quality springer. My only experience with springer is low quality stuff that ive been pretty unhappy with. Similar price to the marauder, very little to work on. No need for a pump. Can be accurate but also harder to shoot, harder on scopes. Always ready to walk out the door and shoot.

Ranges for the invasives, probably 50 yards and in. Targets, as far as I can hit. Have a 100 yard range in my backyard, so any distance up to there.

I like the fact that a nice springer is always ready to go, but having never shot a nice one, i think im a little jaded.

Between something like a marauder, and a r9 or hw50, what would you all recommend?

Whichever i go with would be in 22 cal most likely.

Thanks!

Hatsan  tearing down your gun for the first time

Well I finally conquered my anxiety about tearing my new Hatsan At44 177 down. I had been trying my best to ignore the crunchy grinding sound each time I pulled on the cocking lever. I thought it's new and just needs to be broken in. Well after about a thousand shots and still crunchy bunches of oats. But it's new still under warranty and I'm not very knowledgeable about the internals of pcp. I DON'T WANT TO RUIN MY GUN! Oh well here goes nothing. Did my online research and found other people doing similar projects but with different platforms but getting a feel for what I would find and then how to correct the issues. Should have taken photos and probably would have saved myself a lot of time. Any way I broke it down and cleaned polished and deburred it put it back together. Problem is that it is not working. %$@#* Break it down again look for the problem. Don't find anything. Study the schematic nothing stands out. Back together again but not as complete as the first time. Still not WORKING. AHHH I knew I should have just left well enough alone. Well that ship has sailed and I can't unring this bell. I'm going back in and I'm not going to let this mechanical dilemma conquer me. It has got to be something so dumb that I must be looking at it wrong. So I start seeing what exactly is going on with why it's not working. The cocking arm seems jammed up on something. No it's the hammer getting jammed. Why is the hammer getting jammed? Oh because I reinstalled the hammer upside down. It wasn't able to clear the cocking lever. Dumb dumb dumb dummy. Anyway 3rd time is the charm. Back together tested and it works. Praise the Lord.

And, drum roll please 🥁, no more crunchy. Smooth cocking and I think possibly more accurate. I'll have to do more testing after these torrential rains let up. I'm so happy to still have a shooting rifle instead of an 11lbs paper weight.

So I hope some of you that read this are getting a little chuckle on the misadventures of a newb. But I also hope that others will find this post to be the motivation that they need to tackle a problem that seems to difficult to do. Sometimes you may find that the things you think you can't do are things you can't do because you never tried to do them. One good thing about 3 break downs and 3 reassemblies I have loads of confidence for the next time I need to get down into it's guts.

Thanks for reading.

PCP Rifle  NLA AirForce Talon SS .20 and .22 calibers - $325 - SOLD

I bought this Talon over a year ago and only shot it a few times – too many toys and not enough time? I have not shot the .20 barrel. It’s in very clean condition with only the light marks shown in the picture. It has been holding air since I bought it. It comes with two barrels – a .20 and a .22 which are easy to swap out. It’s the quick release model and I’ll remove the tank to help with shipping. $325 which includes insured shipping.
