Very sweet set-up! & The number are incredibly consistent! Definitely reaching out to C88 Machine to try & get mine done up like that. Need same body kit that your running as well so I can fold the stock & for proper lighting/Laser load out. What company did you get that from? Not sure if I asked that question. Also the mags... Maple or charm? Thanks again -SS
Oh I thought I remember you saying something about needing a chronograph.. looks like that one is working quite well. But if you'd like the new Garmin ballistics chronograph I can get a 15% veterans discount on one. Believe they're around 500 bucks or so. I was debating about getting one but I settled for the old school long won you shoot through with the two light bars that you need to plug in if you're shooting indoors. Only spent about $150 on that. I'm sure you have something better than the one I have. I forget the name of it at the moment but it has a digital readout/out loud in the front & about a footlong, gray with two metal antennas sticking up from each end.

@Surefire , what is your fpe goal again? I think you mentioned 40fpe. If that is the case, you may need to open the gun up to breathe a bit better. I think you you mentioned you didn’t want to do that but it’s not too difficult.

Dave
Yes Dave 40 consistent Fpe would be quite nice, the more the merrier 🙂. Yes i was contemplating about how to make this kind of powder. Shout out to @turbocoupe88 for has been great by helping me understand how to do the .22 FX STX barrel & who to get plenum mods from. In Truth I have done a a whole bunch of tunning with umarex's .68 & .50 paintball/marble shooters getting pretty good #'s. Infact I got over 4o+ joules of power from my HDX shot gun. But that was before my accident. I mean I was already injured from my days as a Marine (3½ tours in Afghanistan), but refused to go on the Va's disability. Started paving Driveways by hand for a few years until the owner passed away. Than I entered the laborers union 10+ years ago, became a foreman the last 3-4 years of it, than I was atop an 8ft ladder @ Deer Island ripping a drop sailing down and then moved on top to the wall that needed to be taken down. Than a few wacks with that of my mini sludge, & felt like the god Zeus hit me with a lightning bolt. Thus waking up on the floor. Needless to say my hands don't work as well as they did. (Have a tremor & they get numb, hot, & tingly/pins & needless sporadically.) Surgery has been recommended for my couple of cervical herniated disc's. But I am pushing through. So that's why I was a bit reluctant to open the Notos up... But as long as it's not super hard I'm down for anything! I already have a few big bores, but with this new injury makes em a bit heavy & wanted a nice light, small, yet powerful & accurate backpack style PCP. Was going to go with an FX compact Dreamlite, but even with the sale that's going on this weekend still going to be over 1100$. I started reading on this form everything that can be done with this particular gun so I went and ordered one of course with modifications in mind. Any & suggestions are welcome! For this seems to be a very good form and everyone thus far who's commented has been very nice and super helpful. So what do you recommend I start with? For the package came in yesterday and I haven't even opened it yet...

The block that your plenum attaches to has a choke point in it that a lot of people have opened up. @Firewalker is the go to specialist on the Notos and can give the most common internal mods (port sizes) that can easily be achieved.

My approach was a bit different and not necessary (or recommended) for 40fpe, my porting is quite a bit more extensive.

I only mention the need for internal mods so that if you bolt all the goodies on and it doesn’t hit your expectations, you won’t be disappointed. Your external may get you to a happy place with it and you won’t need to mod internally.

Good luck with your project and keep us updated.

Dave

Quite the history you have @Surefire, glad you're with us and enjoying the experience. Can't go wrong with advice from @Firewalker @sb327 or @88turbocoupe as they are all knowledgable on this platform. I think @Firewalker offers his services on these if you happened to be interested in such internal mods that may be outside of your serviceability, best of luck on the project.

One can port the Notos to 4.5mm through the air block, valve, transfer port and barrel. Leaving any one of these at stock size will decrease the potential energy.

The main problem/s are, pellets tipping into the barrel port, misalignment of the drill bit when porting and burrs cutting o-rings. I use a 4.5mm reamer to finish the holes, it also make burr removal much easier.

This is also permanent, there is no going back to stock and resale value drops. Finally, the air needed to increase the FPE is easily double that of stock, a tube will not handle the need, a bottle must be used.

used that calculator that you mentioned and shooting these H%N 16.36GR looks to be 26.25 Fpe 40 holy cow not sure about that
i would say Firewalker and sb327 would be the ones to ask about that i would say some port work etc need to be done im still green to pcp guns but learning
i wish i had a notos main body id cut it in half with the water jet and take a look at the ports and port wall thickness
I'm pleased with my results i may back off just a taste on the reg to shoot consistent 790-800 fps
i get 19 good shots i use maple leaf 10 shot clips they work flawless there are other ones as well
the body kit is from buck n rail hand guard rails folding stock does nice work as well

look forward to seeing your build good luck

that sir is some info i was looking for i was not sure how much air was needed to increase the fpe
as i did buy a couple different regulators to install a small maybe 200-300cc bottle
but i also like the slim design with the stock air cylinder with plenum extension's
if i could get 28-30 fpe that would be my goal
but if it has to be bottled to get 20 shots at that i can be humble at 26 as i like to plink and small pests
these pcp guns are a new sport for me i like the adjustability and the accuracy is amazing

Doubling the stock air tube or adding plenums with better capacity may get you more shots but 40 fpe you'd need an 18.1gr flying 850fps or your 16.36gr pellets traveling at 900fps to get the 40fpe.

that would be stepping it up to the next level 28-30 fpe is my goal 40 that's too much for my application nice but not needed my Huben is for that.
im just looking to get 2 10 round clips at full power was not sure if i needed to bottle for that i bought the regulars just in case
but was trying to do it with the stock cylinder plenum and plenum extension
can you screw 2 stock cylinders together? does anyone make a brace to support it?
that id be interested in doing

The 16.36 would need to be traveling at around 1050fps.

To get 40fpe at 850fps, you would need to run a 25.4gr.

Dave
im just looking to see if i can get 28-30 fpe 40 to much i used a calculator came to 26.25 fpe,, just trying to figure to increase to 28-30 what it would take
hammer spring and setting is stock airports stock adj the reg to 150 bar so 2170 218- psi from 1900
just makes me wonder even though you raise pressure but no more volume
seems like both need to be increased as there seems to be a fine line between volume and pressure balance or am i thinking wrong?

Thanks for the advice @Firewalker. Do you still or would like to do the porting work for me? I think I've finally decided to do the drop model mod.. but need some advice on what brand to buy? I like the Huma air version but watched a video were it didn't mate flush with the barrel.. that's unacceptable to me for a 150$ regular, + I have to buy a bottle as well that's another 100+ depending on size & brand. I know that the 480cc that came stock on my SK-19 .30 cal was an Omega, & or could go with the Brand beging with a T that's made in China that can be found on ebay for cheeper... If you are willing to help me out with some of the internals I'd be honored. Please feel free to pm me for the details of the devil 👿 don't worry I don't expect any special treatment, or Vet discount;)

Thanks Matt, yes I believe I may be able to do the simpler stuff like the FX STX 380 .22 barrel (yet need some more advice on the fitment for the moderator or air stripper) prior or after the install...& the Buck & rail kit is pretty straightforward.. not to keen & or sure if be able to do (all of the internal stuff that has been recommended though do to reasons I stated above. Love this forum, you guys are all quite welcoming as well as knowledgeable regarding PCP modding no matter how modest one my be. Yes @turbocoupe88 that last one was for especially you lol 😂, but as all apply to you as well! You helped brake the ice so to speak. U guys are the Notos modding Gods!

Wow I've used that calculator for my Bulldog-Pitbul build & found it approximately reliable... But your already putting some great #'s keeping that slick/slim profile... Perhaps a longer not so much wider bottle on it may still give you that slimline look yet add some more CC's of air to get more of a shot count.. of course I wouldn't know what bottle would be the perfect match, but you or another one of the experts on this forum might know. Quick question, you mentioned that you already have a few different regulators that would allow you to put a bottle mod on. My question is 1. Are you willing to part with one you know that your not going to use? If so I'd be interested in taking it off your hands.. obviously not for free. 2nd question as it now seems like I'll be going on the bottle, what's the best regulator & bottle combo? There's so many to choose from. Reminds me of that old commercial where they ask the guy at the supermarket; " paper or plastic"? Then he goes into his head, and starts thinking about all the possibilities of each one LOL.

Alsafe makes Tuxing and FX bottles, your OK to buy the Tuxing, you may get an Alsafe branded bottle, they are interchangeable.

If you want to do the bottle conversion at home, I'd go with the Huben Power Notos Dream Valve. It has the plenum already as well as a clocking ring at the airblock end.

well, here we go again lol
i have 2 external regulators one is the new Huban or replica with the small plenum with 2 set screws for clocking.
the other is the Huban cricket i think dual gauge it is has a small pickney rail machined into the body (was thinking for tri pod mount)

still being green to this hobby what size tank would i want to use? 200 -300 -500cc?
do i screw the tank right to the reg? same thread
and does anyone make a barrel to tank support?

thanks for any info

That's the one that costs 150$ if I'm not mistaken correct? & Yes Tuxing was the brand I was referring to. They're relatively cheap. And as you say the Huma air dream valve regulator may be costly but it will save me for I can stick a cheaper bottle name the buff on it without having to buy a valve for it correct? Oh yeah almost forgot to ask for I may already know but if I go that route then I can't or don't have to get the 88 machine plenums? Or do I / can I still?

I'm about to start ordering... So perhaps I can get some kind of Labor Day sale on some of the parts I may need. Not sure if back in real has any kind of coupon codes or caters to veterans discounts and I know that again Depot in Pyramid Air running Labor Day sales for select FX guns but not so much the parts of course just my luck LOL. Not trying to be a miser or anything. But I always like to put my American urned $ into American vendors or people's hands for almost all of my items, from air guns to clothes etc.. if you know what I mean. But if something cannot be made in America like say the bottle. & can get one made in China that's exactly the same as one made in Sweden for a fraction of the price... obviously that's a no brainer.

Part of the flow issue with the Notos is in the block from plenum to valve. It is choked quite a bit, I can’t remember offhand what size it is from the factory. I also don’t know what opening just that restriction would do for you. It seems like you are very close to your goal already.

Dave
what size bottle do people run on the notos sorry for all the questions I'm still little green
